"They're all going to die, Clementine. Don't let them pull you down with them"

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
What do you guys think about it?

Was that a subtle hint from Telltale that everybody (including Kenny and luke) is going to die in episode 4? :(

I'm scared.

  • No idea, but Jane seems a bit weird, don't trust anyone in this game really anymore, we don't even know what really happened about the cabin crew before they left carvers camp
  • i agree. she weird.

  • Foreshadowing again..?
  • I really don't know what to thing about that...
  • Jane is freaky. I feel like she's gonna manipulate Clem.

That line caught my eye as well. I seriously hope it's not foreshadowing, i'm not ready to lose my favoirite characters. But shit man, it's Telltale, as much as i love them, they can kill anybody at any time.

    Foreshadowing again..?

  • I feel like she's right, EVERYONE in the group other than Jane and Clementine is weak, physically and emotionally.
You could say Kenny is a strong character, however i think it's quite clear he's going insane.

Because of this i think that there is going to be a lot of commotion about Jane, even though i personally think her views are right, they just are too cruel for Clementine and most of the people that play the game.
  • she so weird ! but she a survivor. fo' sure.

  • Jane seems to be a more intelligent and survival oriented character since she already knew how to apply the smell of walkers to herself in order to avoid them. If she says this in this in the next episode then you should heed her advice.
  • She's one of those "lone survivor" types. She's probably wrong about it though. She just thinks being an asshole is a good thing if you're alive. I can't tell if I like her or not...
  • I don't think she believes that being an asshole is a good thing, she probably learned from experience that most groups tend to fall apart (in the ZA). She probably recognizes herself in Clem, that's why I think she gives her this advice.

  • Jane's a psychopath.

    Avoid psychopaths.
  • If Lee and the rest of the group had abandoned Clem and focused on fending for themselves, where would she have been right now?
    Jane is wrong.

The original group did fell apart, more than half of the members died. The only ones that are left are Clem, Kenny, and maybe Christa, so I don't really think that's a good example. Though I understand your point.

  • Spoiler alert : everyone dies. Seriously though, Jane kind of reminds me of Molly. She likes to run around in the shadows, all ninja-like and sneaky, and she even looks similar to Molly(with a different hair color and hair style). She also seems to enjoy being alone, like Molly. And no one seems to know much about her. Hey, maybe she's Molly. :D ....I can hope.
  • If Lee was alone, he might still be alive(that's a big might). Clementine, now that she's more grown up, is probably even smarter than Lee. I think she could survive on her own given the world didn't try to kill her ten times a day.

    I agree.

Has your opinion on any of the other group members changed at this point or are you still looking to kill everyone?

  • It's funny because it's the same logic Carver had.
  • Lol, but do you like any of them at this point or still hate them all?

  • Jane seems like an expert manipulator. It's heavily implied she was trying to seduce Troy during the time she had been here. And that ended with a dick shot (seriously... what males here didn't wince at that?) It's too early to tell what her game is but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Mike's fine but the rest of them are shitty liabilities in one way or another.

Lol, but do you like any of them at this point or still hate them all?

  • Idk. But Jane is definitely going to be one of those opposite factor kind of people .
  • I like Jane so far but at the same time I don't feel like teaming up with her just yet. I'm going to be careful around her
  • I dunno. Jane seems like a worthy protector/guardian for Clem. Is the rest of the game going to be about letting go and growing up? I can see Jane becoming the playable character for the 3rd season, as she seems to have learned a great deal about cutting her hair short, using the zombie's blood, etc. She's smart, and she's got a badass side to her. Same as Lee. Same as Clem (sometimes).

I'm expecting the rest of the season being filled with feels, one by one, losing everyone until it's just Jane and Clem. It's just a matter of how Clem has to deal with it. There so much hidden subtleties in this one line, that "they're all going to die." When Jane says "don't let them pull you down with them," is she talking about their persons, or Clem's emotional attachment to them?
  • Yeah. I had to take another look at her because I thought it might have been her at first since it was possible that the dirt and shorter hair didn't make her immediately recognizable, and I suppose I was hoping she would be involved in more than one episode. But if it was her, I doubt she would take a new name, or that Clem and Kenny would fail to recognize her.

My guess is that the line is basically letting us know where Jane stands in all this. She is one of those "survival at any cost" types and will most likely push Clem to act selfishly at key moments. She already shot Troy since he served as a distraction, and I got the feeling she sort of enjoyed being able to walk amongst the Walkers. Jane and Clem were among the few to come out of this episode ok health-wise, so there is also an element of practicality to what she was saying.
  • this world does a lot of stuff to people.

who know, maybe she was alone and by herself for a full 2 years, and that does things to a person.

personally I trust her, she is though and looks like she knows what she is doing.(molly 2.0)

  • Well we do need a very negative person in the game so keep Jane
  • Fuck Jane. Kenny, Sarita and the cabin crew are my friends and I'm not leaving them just to save my own skin. If she wants to take a hike then she can, but I'm staying with my buddies. She's a survival oriented character, so I'd say she'd abandon Clem if she needed to in order to save herself. I'd rather pal around with someone who'd watch my back, thanks.
  • Carver told me not to trust the cabin group either and now Jane...I'm more annoyed than anything. This new group is MY group and I'm sticking by them for better or worse. I just hope we find Christa soon.
  • i don't think it was foreshadowing since foreshadowing a subtle hint, but here she just says it straight up, i highly doubt it is foreshadowing anything.

    Foreshadowing again..?

  • Omg Lilly is alive too, y u no remembering :(

See? This is what I hate with this forum. An unpopular opinion and you've got youself 6 downvotes.

Personally I Think Jane, Bonnie, Luke and maybe even Kenny got what it takes to survive. Rebecca, Sarita and Sarah on the other hand..

  • Heh.. Sarita.. Other hand..

  • I don't trust Jane and I'm on the fence to whether or not I like her. I'm not a fan of lone wolf survivalist characters, and I'm more inclined towards disliking her. I don't really agree with her "survival first and foremost" morals. I could accept getting mortally wounded if it meant I protected someone I cared about in the process. Plus like somebody else said, I can foresee her ditching Clem in the future to save her own skin. It annoys me when people call her Molly 2.0 (getting sick of the [insert character name here] 2.0's) but they definitely have a striking resemblance.

Honestly, I like the cabin group and all, and hell I love Sarah, Rebecca, Bonnie, and Sarita, but as soon as Clem finds Christa I'm high-tailin' it outta there. I don't need all that drama in my life. Until then however, I'm sticking with the cabin group, whether or not they're all doomed to die.
  • Not all psychopaths are bad. Churchill, FDR, and I forget but either Stonewall Jackson or Robert E. Lee were considered psychopaths.

  • Yeah I should correct myself: the members died or left the group. I completely forgot Lilly XD.
