Why in the world would you _______?

Why in the world would you chop of Sarita's arm? I mean, yeah, she's bitten and a zombies chomping off her hand, but she will probably just bleed to death. There are no bandages anywhere, so how would she stop the bleeding? However, bleeding to death might be more favorable than being zombified. What do you think?

    I just made a quick decision on what I already knew but disregarded other facts in my rush. I didn't want Kenny to lose another loved one, and I know that amputating the arm quickly can stop the infection in its tracks. But then there's the possibility of the walker brains on my hatchet infecting her anyway, and the only person with proper medical training we had is walker chow, plus we don't know where we're going to get any supplies to stabilise her. I regretted my decision, but I would have regretted the other one too I think.
