Carlos Appreciation Thread

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Carlos was an amazing character in my opinion. I didn't like him at first but now I look back and I really like him. He makes me laugh because of his accent (hey blame Nick for making me realize how strong his accent was!). And whenever someone says CEASE TO FUNCTION in a comment, i laugh so hard. Carlos was so caring and loving for his daughter and was in the most emotional scene in season 2 so far. So for you Carlos, I have made a short poem. Carlos, at first you didn't seem cool, I thought you were a complete fool, but you grew on me like hair, after I realized how much you care, you saved Clem, no matter her behavior, you are the true Spanish Savior, You patched Kenny up when he was down, you made Clem get rid of her frown, I know you felt bad slapping your daughter, but its okay she still loves her father, when you were around I had so much fun, its sad you died by Tavia's gun, You remind me of Lee, so brave, I hope you rest in piece in your grave, with Sarah you did your best, sleep now Carlos, let Clementine handle the rest.

  • i still say he was a quack.
  • Yes it was really shocking that in the last minute of Episode 3 he got brutally killed, I miss him already, I cannot understand people who hated.

I already miss him. I keep thinking about his shed and him asking how big a small house was.

On a serious note, I thought he was cool enough. He was a loving father who has a misguided way to protect Sarah. He was brave when he fought the walkers and defiantly spat at Carver and refused to give out Rebecca's location even though he risked getting killed. He really didn't deserved to get shot in the neck and devoured by walkers in front of Sarah.

    Rest in peace, Carlos

Carlos was a good guy, sure he Locked Clem in a shed but when Clem in episode 2 ran out of bullet's at the lodge and just stood there Carlos shot them for Clem which almost got Carlos killed as a walker snuck up on Carlos, luckly the walker only grabbed his gun

Definitely. He was an amazing character. He was one of the characters that I really wish made it to the end. A real shame he's gone.
  • He was actually pretty awesome.

Loved his voice and... and... god its so wrong how people die left and right here... :(
  • Yeah and now there's no one to deliver Rebecca's baby.
  • Also how do you guys like my poem? I took like half an hour on it and I'm usually not very good at poems :P
  • When he was shot literally 2 minutes before the episode ended, I was like "So close!"
  • While playing through episode 3 I was like "What if Carlos gets shot right now?" Then when it happened I was like O_O I KNEW IT.
  • I almost cried when Sarah's sad shout hit me... Such a strong moment...

I remember when I first saw Carlos in episode one :'''(. My first impression was: "This guy is a jerk". In episode two I was actually hoping that he would die.......now that he's actually dead I regret hoping that. No man deserves to die like that infront of their child. I wouldn't even wish a death like that on Troy or Carver. Poor Sarah. I hope she's still alive. Carlos rest in peace. ;'(
  • As soon as I saw Tavia and the others shooting I knew someone was going to get hit, although I had gone in expecting Carlos to die, I actually thought he might make it. Sadly, he didn't, and that was one sudden as fuck death, and Sarah's reaction was a major tearjerker; "D-daddy... Please... No..."
  • I'm still not entirely sure about his medical skills, but now that Sarita is injured I really wish the group had him around.

He was definitely one of the better members of the group, even if he made some bad decisions. I hope without his coddling Sarah can finally grow up to not be such an utter moron.
  • The best worst doctor to exist in this game, and he graduated from "Nigerian collage universitie"and the collage is intentional, and had a nice accent that no one cept nick can do
  • Carlos was one of my favorite characters. I chocked up when he got bit by walkers.
  • Carlos confused me. He was able to patch Kenny up, but unable to tell the difference between a dog bite and a damn human bite.
  • I really liked Carlos. He and Pete had the saddest deaths this season so far. And he and Pete both deserved better.
  • I didn't like him in episode 1, but he redeemed himself in EP2 and 3. Come to think of it, I wonder if he actually knew it was a dog bite and just didn't say because he did in fact think Clem was with Carver, it would make sense now. His days of locking people in sheds are over, but he will be missed.
  • I can't even remember carlos death, that's how much I cared
  • I hereby appreciate Carlos.
  • *sob* Why did he have to die...? ;_; *sob*

I seriously can't stop asking myself:

Was it an accident, or on purpose?

I know it was dark and walkers were all over the place, and it probably was just a stray bullet.
But then, on the other hand, Carlos' shirt was pretty unique...and maybe Carver's group just wanted to kill their doctor.

And yes, they probably didn't know the prisoners were down there, but maybe they did.

Doesn't matter, whoever shot Carlos, by accident or on purpose, 400 Days or not, will DIE Troy like when I get the chance!
  • Carlos was an amazing character.

On another note, dont think his accent was funny at all, was just an accent. Sorry but had to say this, since i too have an accent when speaking english.

  • He's locking angels in that big shed in the sky, now. We miss you, man.

Seriously though, Carlos really grew on me in Episode 2, and continued to do so in Episode 3. I wanted him to live so badly, but his death wasn't all that surprising. As soon as I saw Tavia and the others on the roof, I knew that someone was taking a bullet. Talk about one hell of a death. He gets shot, then eaten in front of his daughter. I feel sorry for both of them. RIP Carlos.
  • Thought the same thing. The way he died in front of Sarah was really disturbing for me.

  • Overall, it was a surprisingly good poem, but next time I'd use enter a bit more. For example, instead of:

Carlos, at first you didn't seem cool, I thought you were a complete fool...

    You could instead do:

Carlos, at first you didn't seem cool,
I thought you were a complete fool...

It makes all the difference. But other than that, I really enjoyed it :)

  • Rest in peace, Doc. You deserved better.
  • Really felt terrible for Sarah :(
  • I still don't like you.

I miss him he was so sexy :(
  • RIP Carlos. He died a horrible death.

I don't want to be heartless but his death will at least add more screen time for other characters such as Nick, luke and hopefully other 400 day characters. We already have so many characters in this season and Telltale needs to add more story arcs to each of them in the next episode.

I had my issues with the guy. But he deserved better than that, shot in the neck and eaten in front of his own daughter. :(

I cared more about him than I thought I did; he didn't deserve such a painful death. Miss him already. Poor guy was an extremely dedicated father and protected Sarah to the very end. :'[
  • At first I was just extremely shocked and had no emotion because of how it happened, but now it's setting in. I really fucking miss Carlos, he was pretty awesome. R.I.P :(
  • Why didn't a psycho with a minigun just come and eradicate and exterminate the whole horde?
  • "I don't know what the fuck that means, but RIP Carlos."
