Baddest of the Bands coming to Europe 11/21! (Was: #3 in Europe?)

Hands shaking... vision... clouding over... withdrawal symptoms are... unbearable... must talk... like... William Shatner...

When is Baddest of the Bands coming out on Wiiware in Europe? It's *weeks* late. Episode *four* is coming out in a couple of weeks! Are we going to see #3 before then?

We don't know. The games have to go through a separate submission process with Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of America, and neither episode 3 nor episode 4 has been accepted in Europe yet.

When we know anything, we'll announce it. (You can always buy the PC versions if you don't want to wait!)

November 21st seems like the most likely day.

Or so I would have said on the 10th, but if Emily says it has not been accepted plus the fact that Nintendo has announced three Art Styles (the Bit Generations remakes) for the 21st it seems as though it'll take at least until December 5th. I'd just get the whole PC season, the euro/libra being stronger than the dollar and the fact that the bundle is already cheaper than buying the five games in wiiware should make up for having bought Episodes 1 and 2.

Do you know how long it takes to be released after it's apceted?
  • edited November 2008
No. Once the episode is approved, they schedule the day. Nintendo of Europe releases WiiWare updates every other Friday, though, so it'll be on one of those days.

Problem is, I don't have a credit card, and despite claims that you can just buy the game trough Paypal, it does not accept eChecks (only payments with a registered credit card), therefore I cannot buy the PC version of the game.

But that's bizarre. Oh, I know it's not your fault, but still... it's just bizarre. Haven't these people heard of synchronised worldwide releases? Bah.

Oh, well, looks like I'll get it for the PC. The thing is, I like playing it on the Wii. It's an excellent platform for that sort of game, and means I don't have to go through the whole boot-into-Windows-fiddle-with-graphics-settings-oh-noes-my-cheapo-Intel-graphics-card-can't-render-this-at-this-resolution woes of the PC version. I'll like being able to fire it up on the TV in the living room rather than at my desk in my study. But being able to play it at all is better than not being able to play it, so...

Hmmm... Maybe some of the banks in your country offer a virtual credit card (works like a cell phone, you charge whatever amount of money you want and then use it like a Wii Points Card). That's how I buy things on the Internet because I don't have a credit card either.

Wow, sounds like it sure would suck to live in Europe. On the bright side, maybe you'll get two episodes in one day!

We don't accept eChecks because they take a week to clear and our system isn't really set up to deal with that.

You should be able to set up PayPal to pull funds directly from your checking account, though.

    Yeah, I figured.

Can I still buy the season pack thingy thing episode download thing season thing?

Or wait, have you guys already decided to release it on Steam or not, or are you guys still pending? Because I actually rather buy the game... games from Steam, since then I would be able to see them on my game list instead of my Start list, which is cruddy as hell on a Vista. Takes freaking minutes to load properly.

For what it's worth, you can add a shortcut to any game (or any app, really) to Steam.

Wait, where'd you get that list? Nintendo UK says that Cubello: Art Style (or whatever) is coming out on the 21st.
  • edited November 2008
If Episode 3 doesn't come out in Europe this coming Friday, it will no longer be a question of when it and future episodes will come out there; it will become a question of if.

I get that list from nintendo magazine forums.

That's ridiculous. Look, I'm sorry it's taking awhile, but the games will come out.

I wouldn't believe anything you read about a release date until you hear it from us.

GaryCXJk, we don't have any immediate plans to release the games on Steam, so if you want to play them before the end of the season and don't want to wait for the Nintendo Channel in Europe, Telltale's store is the way to go.
  • edited November 2008
Well, that's not really the issue. What I meant is, if it's coming out on Steam as well, I might as well buy it for that also, since my Steam games list isn't really that big (only about fifty games or so).

Man, I still need to get both Sam & Max seasons as well...

But anyway, I forgot what I wanted to say. CURSE YOU LOW ATTENTION SPAN!

AND THE HIGHLY ADDICTIVENESS OF PEGGLE!!!

Well, what is this then?: http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22105 (scroll)

If it doesn`t come in Friday, i`m shocked.

I bought episode 2 for my pc as an experiment... it barely runs, the screen keeps flashing, but after this news I may have now choice.

    ...ONLY? O_o

48 to be exact. Most are really old games, like Doom 3, or Prey, although there are quite a few high-end super-modern games, like Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D. Man, the 3D part in the name really does it.

But yeah, most just came in packs or were in discount, like the Oddworld pack or the X-COM pack. I was sure lucky to have enough money for the discounted Id Mega Pack. Oh, and don't forget about Garry's Mod, which was a complete waste of money. But I am glad with my Peggle Deluxe. Man, Peggle Extreme was helluvalot addictive, so I knew it wouldn't be a waste of money to get Peggle Deluxe. Oh, and Audiosurf. Everyone with Steam should definitely buy Audiosurf.

Yeah, I don't have enough Steam games.

50 isn't that hard to pull off on steam. My list totals 63 right now. Mostly it's Valve's games, our games, and a lot of indie games (Darwinia, Everyday Shooter, etc.)

So anyway, I finally decided to transfer some Euros to my account, that means I can finally get the season pass to get all the episodes at launch, and with all, I mean Episode 5.

This sums up my feelings. I prefer being able to play the games on my sofa in front of a TV but the wait is getting frustrating. I'll see what's released on WiiWare on Friday but if there's still no SBCG4AP I'll just buy the whole season on PC.

I don't know where they got that info, but in general if you hear a release date from Telltale, that means it has been confirmed by Nintendo. If you hear a release date somewhere else and then ask about it here and people from Telltale don't know anything about it, chances are pretty high that the date has not been confirmed by Nintendo. ;)

That being said, as of this morning Baddest of the Bands has been confirmed for Friday 11/21 in Europe. Woo!

Yes, only a month away from the original release date. Just like we are used to.

Congratulations, Nintendo, you never cease to disappoint us.

    Yeah! Download completed!
  • edited November 2008
I can't believe it took a whole month.
Does this mean we will get Dangeresque 3 in a month when you lot get the final episode, or will we get it sooner, with the next WiiWare releases?

Good episode. I downloaded it yesterday and completed it just now. First episode I did not use a walkthrough for.
