Parallel between Bites

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Remember how Pete was bitten and if you gave him the saw, he would refuse to amputate his leg as he explained he'd bleed out and Clementine couldn't aid her well.

But now Sarita was bitten during a horde, and cutting off her arm is an interesting parallel as she would bleed out and Clementine couldn't aid her.

What do you think about this parallel?

  • either way she's probably gonna die
  • If Pete would have told Clem to amputate I would....but no option was given.
  • I hope maybe Pete was talking about more blood loss in cutting off his leg similar to the teacher in episode 2 of season one! If not, I'M SORRY SARITA ;_;

    Well, with Pete it was his foot. If they had cut it off and had away to prevent too much blood loss, they still would have had a hard time getting through all those walkers and back to the cabin.

    Sarita has a bit more of a chance since she's still able to physically get away, as long as she doesn't pass out from shock.

    The bleeding out was part of the reason I didn't cut her arm (and fresh blood in a herd can't be good for her survival).

    But I don't think this is just down to creating a parallel so I'm gonna mention something that's been niggling at me. Ever since Luke made his "scars are cooler than stumps" comment, I couldn't help thinking this was foreshadowing him losing a limb. Of course, it seemed like a stretch at the time. But now there's been some reference to amputation for all three episodes, with this last one having the heaviest significance. This feels like it's building up to something and I don't think it's just Sarita's bite. As much as I like her she's too minor a character I think. So I'm guessing there's going to be a successful amputation for one of the more important characters. Kenny just lost his eye so that leaves Clem and Luke...
