Telltale ended up with a lot of confusion regarding Mariana. You can keep her music player or give it to Gabe, neither outcomes are even mentioned. Mariana states that it doesn't work because the batteries died, and the batteries you can give her are also completely forgotten. For some reason Telltale decided to have her be shot dead instantly, but they never changed the scene to reflect this. She was originally to be shot in the throat, this makes Kate running to her more sensible because Mariana would still be dying in that case. And after being shot she ends up on her back somehow even though she obviously fell forward.
