So do walkers have superhuman strength?
I was just looking back at how walkers can literally rip you apart and pull out your entrails. So I guess when you turn into a walker, your base strength becomes augmented? I know probably it's easy to escape their grip, but I was just looking at it from that point of view. What do you think?

Walkers are only as strong as they were before they were bitten, Until they start to rot away.
Yeah, like when Sarita is getting bit by one and she's trying to pull away but the walker is too strong... you would think they'd be pretty weak but it seems they're not.
Exactly, I think it is because they are dead and don't feel pain, they can put more pressure on things when they grab or bite them.
I think.
That's not how it really works, though.
Well if Clem can keep them off her and she weighs like 90 lbs , what do you think.
Sometimes I cant but wonder why they don't lose their teeth if they're rotting, wouldn't they fall off if it was too much pressure? I mean even the bones become brittle and weak over time if it's a corpse.
Wait how do zombies live when their dead it's not possible another plothole. For me just makes them more intimidating if they can rip you apart and scary I think there is nothing more behind it for me, Even in the show a zombie can take down a cow then can't hold onto Carl who escapes in S2 no consistence so not sure but then again I never read the comics so I'm not sure.
an 11 year old girl in the apocalypse with barley any food weighing 90 pounds?! nah.
im 14 and eat a good about and im only 93 pounds. Clem has got to be lighter than that.
Seems reasonable to assume that whatever causes them to reanimate keeps parts they need functioning longer.
Enlighten me, oh wise one!
Look at how the body reacts to adrenaline in flight or fight situations. Safeguards shut down, but you also incur significant muscle and tissue damage. Zombies can't heal, so them using their full energy all the time should absolutely destroy them at an amazing pace.
Okay in the Walking Dead universe. As soon as you turn, you still have your human strength but at 'adreanilin-heightened' levels. When your body released adreanilin you don't feel as much pain, you're much faster, somewhat more stronger, etc.
However like humans without proper food they will decay and over time become malnourised. In fact in the comics there's one walker Eugene studies that literally cannot bite. It tries to, but it cannot even pierce the human skin due to how malnourised it is. Eventually walkers will decay and die, whilst humans live on.
All these people trying to explain how you keep your human strength blah blah blah . . .LOL. Look obviously its a flaw to EVERY zombie game/fan fic/story. I have always wondered this too, how a zombie who looks like a twig can in one swift motion rib through a guys body. It just makes it more interesting. The game wouldn't be that fun if walkers moved at the speed of a turtle and had the strength of a new born.
No idea, i was just throwing out random numbers don't get so cereal.
They don't feel pain anymore, so they just try really hard to do something even if it injures them. They are just as strong as us, they just don't care about trying TOO hard. EDIT: Actually, if anything, they are technically weaker than us, do to rotting.
That's probably why they decay so fast :O
Pretty much. Zombies have superhuman strength when it's convenient or the plot calls for it lol.
