"and ultimately to a moral dilemma she never could have anticipated."

If they are hinting at something like this then maybe this is the Pizza or Ice Cream choice as the definition for moral dilemma sounds very similar.

A moral dilemma is a conflict in which you have to choose between two or more actions and have moral reasons for choosing each action.

  • Wait wait wait- what happened to Gengar? I thought I noticed a missing presence on the forum...

  • I remember him. He also made the "deal with it" one with Luke, right? Even though we didn't talk, it's a shame to see him leave.

  • i'm scared :( i can't stop thinking about it

  • Aaaand all our hope goes down the crapper...

About the last achievement: the reference is to a poem by Emily Dickinson: Here's a snippet:

It was not death, for I stood up,

    And all the dead lie down;

While it doesn't suggest that Clem is going to die, it's not exactly a happy poem either.

  • edited June 2014

Actually, except for the first one, which is from an Otto von Bismarck speech, they're all lines from poems. The second achievement is from a Robert Frost poem:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

The third is from another Emily Dickinson poem:

    And I – could I stand by

And see You – freeze –

Without my Right of Frost –

    Death’s privilege?

The fourth is from a poem by William Butler Yeats:

    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The fifth is from a poem by Walt Whitman:

I sit by the restless all the dark night, some are so young,

Some suffer so much, I recall the experience sweet and sad,

The sixth and seventh are from yet another Dickinson poem:

Because I could not stop for Death –

He kindly stopped for me –

The Carriage held but just Ourselves –

    And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste

    And I had put away

My labor and my leisure too,

    For His Civility –

  • I love how vague everything is with these trophies. It's actually gotten me more excited to see how Ep.4 ends.

    Nicely done, Telltale. Nicely done.

Oh my god... (not you @marko012) I'm really afraid of the ''All the Dark Night'' Also is that ''Blood and Iron (Made it out alive)'' achivement means there's gonna be a battle between survivors in ''Amid The Ruins'' and that episode is going to end with a cliffhanger? I hope not.

''All The Dead Lie Down'' goddammit!! I think when this season ends; we're not gonna feel good. At least in ''Season One'' we learned that Clementine made it out alive from Savannah and reunited with Omid and Christa. But this achivement... I'm not ready for this...

  • This makes me want episode 5 sooner

  • Made it out alive probably means that soemthing happens either at the end of episode 4, or at the start of episode 5 :O

  • I was gonna say that.

    Holy fuck.

Dickinson in general is known for being an insanely depressed recluse who talks about death and despair all the time. So yeah, the fact that 4/8 of the achievements in Episode 5 come from her poems is not a good sign of things to come for little Clem.

  • Couldn't "All the dead lie down" literally mean all the walkers freeze and lie down, like in the title screen?

In short, nearly all PS3 and PS4 games have trophies, and a good portion of those (pretty much all full length disc based games and a good number of larger downloadable games) have a Platinum Trophy, which is unlocked when you reach 100% completion of all other trophies.

People who really like trophies (myself included) tend to collect platinums, and when you have a trophy card (your trophy information summarized) one of the most prominent numbers is the number of platinums you have managed to get. Of course, the relative worth of a platinum is directly related to how difficult it is, so TWDS2 platinum is not such a great loss... but still, TWD S1 and TWAU both have a platinum trophy.

It's more just a sad little note, because I don't know about anyone else but I get a huge satisfaction upon completing a trophy list and hearing the "ding" of a platinum unlocking. It's sad to me that TWD S2 doesn't have one, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter THAT much. It's just an odd decision because it's not like it costs them anything and it would make some fans happy... Maybe it's the price of having the trophies released sporadically instead of all together.

Wait a minute...if a Platinum Trophy indicates 100% completion of the game and Episode 5 doesn't have one. Then that means...

Eh they aren't on the wiki page. They aren't on the No Going Back page or the achievement page. :I

EDIT: Someone below wrote them all down. Thanks anyways!

  • Might not mean anything, unfortunately.

There are games without a platinum (most of them are downloadable games, for example the Monkey Island remasters have trophies but no platinum, Journey has trophies but no platinum, etc.) I think (but do not know) that Sony might put a minimum # of trophies in a game that you need to have a platinum trophy for it.

My suspicion is that the TWD trophies are not all under TWD Season 2, they count as "DLC trophies" when you look at the menu (I can screenshot if anyone wants)... so they probably would have had to either release the entire trophy list with Episode 1 with most of them left as "hidden trophies" so they could put a platinum with the whole list... or maybe there's another way to do it where they could have added trophies to the main game instead of having them count as DLC. As it is I've never seen a plat be added in DLC so I was curious how they'd pull it off.

    They didn't. XD
