    I don't think so..........
How about one where S&M have to travel through space to find the Statue of Liberty, and stop in a casino! And it could be on Xbox!

    Oh.

I can't really think of anything.

Curse me and my completely non-original ideas!

Sam becomes possessed by a demon and Max has to save him by going deep in the jungle and learning some long-lost martial art!

How this would save Sam I dont know, but hey it sounds fun! lol

Demons.... demons....... why was I thinking of demons? Oh right, the theme of Season 2! I hope they don't re-use any story type stuff-like another demon centered storyline.

Eh, I like demons... Vampires... WEREWOLVES! That's it!

Sam becomes a werewolf and Max has to save him before the city's citizens kill him! To do so he has to travel to the jungle and learn a long-lost martial art, but with his attention span it is REALLY hard on the old jungle man training him.

    That better? ;)

That sounds something like a setup for a thriller video spoof :p

    How bout this:

The comissioner orders our dynamic duo to visit a secret location downtown somewhere in Berlin.

At this very location, Sam and Max gets harassed by a group of indian rug salesman only to learn that the main rug of the group is a reincarnation of an ancient egyptian god. They must now engage in an epic quest to make the intimidating, talking rug they're own so that they can use it to cause worshiping envy to the caracters in the game by pure indimidation ( by the part of our talking rug ) .

And with that, Bosco informs our Freelance Police that there is a new group in town. R.U.G.S ; The Rough Underground Group of Salesman, bent on corporate domination and purchase of small business establishment stateswide. Not very pleased at ALL by the situation, Bosco goes into some rambling rampage and try's to enlist the help of our duo, who unfortunately for our friend Bosco are already busy on a quest to save the world provided by the rug, who of course will end up in a closet for the rest of it's life and for all future episodes to come.

    ... or something like that.

    Sam becomes a werewolf
I really wanted Sam to become a werewolf after it was brought up in Night of the Raving Dead. Because he's most of the way there already.

Okay, how about this: Whizzer goes back in time to stop the Soda Poppers from existing and succeeds, but it results in The Mole, The Mob and the Meatball ending less than ideally since Sam never got the hypnosis blocking helmet. This forces Sam to go back in time to return things to normal.

Oh wait, I already wrote that fanfic. Could be paced better, though.

How about this one? Sam gets bitten by a weredog that's currently in human form and gets infected, because that would be even more ridiculous for him than being a werewolf. Because of this he and Max end up going up against a weredog-run organised crime syndicate.

Or this one? Sam and Max get struck by lightning or irradiated or something, and end up in the late Permian era, over 250 million years ago. They discover that the mass extinction at this time was caused by talking genocidal Lystrosauruses, who are going all around killing all species but themselves. Sam and Max manage to convince them not to kill everything, but this has consequences when they return to the present.

When I get into something, a lot of story ideas tend to pop up out of nowhere. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

heh that would make sam a were-human! that has so many amusing possibilities, perhaps cybil even getting interested in him and there being soem rocking in her and abe's loveboat...

Or even better... MAX is the cause! lol Seriously, maybe they were never supposed to go extinct but max does something stupid and ends up killing htem all, the "paradox" already having occurred!

Oh on that note, if you like time-travel paradox stories go look up "A sound of thunder" very impressive sci-fi story about the consequences of time-travel and how the tiniest change can radically alter the chronostream.

Ooh, you've inspired me. Those are some great ideas and mental images.

I was going to have them accidentally kill everything while trying to come to a compromise, but then I decided that killing 90% of life on Earth was a bit too bad even for them.

I've read it. I really like it, although I think that making a giant dinosaur fall in a different way would have a greater chance of changing history than a human stepping off a path.

How about a shooter with Career mode, Multiplayer mode and Free Roam mode? You could go on alternate missions, visit casinos, drive in the Desoto and beat up criminals!

Glad I inspired you, I cant wait to hear what happens!

ah, but the ripple came from killing the butterfly, not from him stepping off the path! According to Chaos theory, just by existing in the past caused massive time ripples every time somone went back in time, not only that, but the firing of the gun, the impact, etc could have caused massive tornadoes and floods that would not have occurred (or prevented ones that would have occured otherwise)

I had a dream EXACTLY like that once!
Had a very bad ending though, on Max's part. XD

A whole game of Sam and Max in their office solving... math problems! There would also be other subjects like reading, grammar, history, and natural science. The interface would be simple and would only have a dialog box displaying the question and answers with a few static screens as background. Oh! And the boring 4-sprite-maximum headshots of Sam and Max would comment on the player's progress with the same repeating corny jokes.

The target age group would be ages 7-10, so once your child grows out of that grade level, the game will just sit on your desk collecting dust. (Not that I'm speaking from experience. Nope. No siree...)

    Oh, the irony...

Yes, but of course, adults and teenagers such as myself would play it just because it has Sam and Max in it. XD

I think there should be one where Sam and Max have a fight and Max becomes the villain for an episode. That would be funny. I could just imagine Max wearing a dark cloak and top hat just for kicks.

And an incredibly crappy paper mustache? ...That'd be awesome.

I just pictured that, and I am amused. XD

Sam: Where the heck did you get the cloak and top hat? And why is there a piece of paper taped to your mouth?
Max: None of your **** business, Sam.

Sam & Max go on vacations...on a cruiser.

OK, I know it sounds boring, but what if the game starts with Sam and Max floating around the remains of the cruiser

Max: Ooh, smells like a fiercely thickening plot

Sam and max make the worl'ds biggest peanut-butter sandwich to get into the book of world records. The sandwich attractes the world's biggest dog, who eats the sandwich and gets his mouth stuck shut. He goes on a rampage, leaving destroyed buildings in his wake. Now Sam and Max have to stop him with the help of the zombified corpse of king arthur. Together they... er... I don't know what happends from there...

Sam and Max should go to clown school in an episode, that would be funny.

Sam and Max get stuck between space and time and the only way to get back to reality is to travel to 5 worlds and save each world from a different creature. That could also be a plot for a season if you think about it. each world being an episode.

    Sam & Max/Spore Crossover.
    Bad idea?
Oh, come on! I wasn't the only one who was thinking it! (Was I?)
  • edited February 2009
How would that work? Would it be creature phase? Space phase?
  • edited February 2009
    Creature phase, definately.
Sam: Hey Max, what are those strange creatures over there?
Max: I dunno. Let's go light 'em on fire!

How about Sam and Max meeting evil clones or robot versions of themselves, voiced by the voice actors from the original PC game, "Hit the road"?

It could be full of inside jokes, such as the new Sam and Max commenting on how fake the others sound.

Sam & Max faces the ultimate challenge when they have to PAY TAXES before the DUE DATE!!!
  • edited April 2009
BTW the previous post, simple but brilliantly effective. I like it!

    -

I posted in the Season 3 boards but I thought I would post it here in some form.

I think that either a myths and legends episode would be quite interesting

The episode could be that Jimmy Two Teeth due to his wheeling and dealings comes across an enchanted copy of the Arabian Nights and when the book is read aloud, one of the Sam and Max characters is transformed into a character from the book. (Kind of an slightly different Inkheart scenario). So Sybil is turned into Scherezade, Bosco into the genie of the lamp from Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, Mary the rat into a harem girl and so on.

Sam and Max then find that the book belongs to a library that holds similar kinds of books and that only the fabled Librarian can restore things to how they were. Unfortunately, the location of the Librarian is hidden inside the books. So they have to go into selected books to find the Librarian (who incidentally was still in the library but had gone to the bathroom)

He reads the spell but everybody is still not cured. It turns out that Max could break the spell all along.

SAM - So the only way to find this guy is to read books?
MAX - I think we may be learning something. Stay away from libraries!

Sorry if it seems a bit cliché I thought it up on the spot.

I think a great adventure would be if Max got brain washed possibly by the Devils training video and he become a White collar worker but the problem is he is so bad at the job he ruins hell. The devil begs Sam to help him and Sam is doubly interested since its Max.

The reason for the Devil even requesting Sam instead of Sam charging on the scene is because the beginning of the game Max is just missing which just dawns on Sam after a month. So he doesnt know his where abouts.

The devil in a desperate attempt to help Sam keep Max from destroying hell he puts Sam inside Max's head to undo the Brain Washing. The mystery to the whole thing is WHO sent the tape to max and who could get him to watch it and why? lol

Really I just like the idea of a mission in side Max's deranged mind and it could explore differant parts of the twisted psyche. I can see the Dark Gothic serial killer side which will be super scary but irreverently funny. Then I can see the super sweet Bunny side where everything is lollipops and rainbows ( but occasionally things get to cute and explode ) :)

God do I want to help make Sam and Max games that would be a dream come true.

Just picture cute little birds and bunnies exploding into little clouds of fur and feathers lol POOF !!! lol

    Oooh! I got one!

Game plays backwards, like the play and Seinfeld episode The Betrayal. The 'end' is Sam shoots Bosco. Slowly, the plot unveils his motives until it is slowly revealed Bosco is actually working FOR the government. He detonated the office and it is in ruin. I see plot going like this:

-Bosco finishes his phone call with "the charismatic president." He prepares to detonate the office.
-The office detonates. Sam and Max were at Sybil's so it is O.K.
-Sam pulls Flint out of the wreckage. He says a government agent did it.
-Upon exiting the office, Max is shot by an assailant and Sam chases him in a car.
-Sam discovers the assailant is bosco and kills him.

Now, play it out of order..

    -You shoot Bosco.
    -The Office Blows Up.
    - Someone shoots Max.
-You pull Flint out of the Wrecage.
    - Bosco gets his cal.

Also, it will not be unveiled it is out of order until he end. So, it seems Sam has different intents than he really does.
