If I had to pick 3 words to summarize my feelings about Season 2 they would be...

    Bag of Shit

This series has seriously regressed in every way possible since season 1 ended. Plot is non-existant, characterization is random and unpredictable, and the story overall is just plain bad. The only thing that's been improved upon between Season 1 and Season 2 is the QTE's and graphics...which ironically were the last things that anybody really cared about.

No, no hope. Nick and Sarah were my last hope for TWD series. Episode 5 is my last hope for Telltale over all. if this becomes a bad rushed

  • I have enjoyed season 2 but while i do have some issues with it but i still throughly enjoy the game.

  • i like season 2 but they will never top season 1

  • It isn't that though. They gave each character except Doug and Carley a complete arc in S1 and they foreshadowed arcs in S2 yet screwed them

  • I still like it just as much as Season One. I cannot wait for Season Three!

  • Season 2 wasn't terrible if i where a game reviewer i would most likely give season 2 a 6/10 above average. I don't regret buying the season pass but unless episode 5 does something that blows me away and gets me back interested in the game like i was in season 1 i most likely will give season 3 a miss.

  • This season feels like it got hit with rewrites during episode 3 and 4.

The whole thing is an opinion at the end of it all. For my own personal opinion? I've been enjoying Season 2 a lot, as much as I have Season 1.

I do think they could have done a better job with the characters and there deaths. But I honestly like episodes one and two, season two. A few words of advice "Step it up Telltale".~ Me

  • I can't say until i get the final episode, but i agree with you season 1 is extremely hard to beat.

  • This community seems split between people who strongly dislike season 2 because of a couple inconsistencies in the writing. And then people who are slightly more open and still enjoy the overall dynamic and storytelling.

I can, without question, say I enjoyed the LARGE majority of this season so far, even with all the writing changes and more linear approach to the narrative. That shouldn't mean that i'm kissing TellTale's ass should it? I was one of the people that very much enjoyed Mass Effect 3, albeit the ending was pretty bad, I didn't let that stand in the way of an otherwise fun and fulfilling conclusion to a great trilogy.

And now we're seeing another "Retake Mass Effect", just this time, it's ALOT less deserved than that example. Bioware promised an extremely satisfying ending to the series, and when they fell short of that promise, people were naturally mad. But this is just people crucifying an entire development company because a character they like died the "wrong" way?

I definitely think Sarah's death was quite lazy. However, I enjoyed the overall crux of episode 4 and found that the premise was incredible.

  • Mass effect 3 ending gave me PTSD

  • I wouldn't say TT blew season two. Its a good series of games. If TWD S2 was my first experience with a telltale game i imagine i would have been thoroughly impressed and captivated. But it hasn't been as good as the first season. I think we all can agree on that.

  • LMAO!

I replayed the whole stupid game series for that game. I spent 60 hours + getting my crew ready. My Shepard was ready, then that ending scene. I'm thinking, oh god i'm going to RAGE. WHO IS THIS SPACE CHILD, WORST ENDING EVER. I raged and broke my ps3 controller because i threw it at a brick wall.

After that i went to anger management, and the councilor forbade me from playing any games with Mass Effect in their name. I been pretty ok, only a few flashbacks come here and there. Nothing like the old days with ECs ,and IEDS but still traumatic.

Ok but I didn't pay for a death simulator. I payed for a game that has a good story and well written characters. The story was okay, at the start, but it went down hill. TWDG by telltale is SUPPOSED to focus on the story, it's the main damn thing. What else is it going to be focusing on? Gameplay?

Season 2 was written badly. I would've been somewhat better if I could've had some conversations with nick, or at least keep his hat.

A good game for you would be TWD survival instinct since all you want is bloodshed.

Also MY demands are childish? How the hell is asking for more than 3 CONVERSATIONS or good WRITING childish in any way? I'm giving feedback, something telltale asked for and supposed to consider since that's why their stuff is episodic. Also, does my opinion hurt you that bad?

  • Ok, the game is not failing. And yes some things aren't good, but we can't just nitpick every little detail and judge the game only on the mistakes. There are lots and lots GOOD things too we can judge the game on.

    Thank you

  • I am of the opinion that when they shortened the episodes, it took a lot away from the game's story development. They say they did that for the casuals to play an episode in one sitting. I say BS to that. They made them shorter so they didn't have to work so hard on them. The results are obvious in season 2.

  • Like others, I don't think tell-tale 'blew' season two. It's in no way as good as season one, that's obvious. However there have been excellent moments, and episodes one, two and three weren't bad by any means.

The main problem for many including myself, is episode four. It's like they chucked all their ideas out the window and started again. Unfortunately the results speak for themselves. Thing is, it only takes one bad episode to tarnish all the good work they did previously.

Pity really that tell-tale themselves don't come on this forum and explain why episode four turned out the way it did. If they did, it might go a long way to repair the damage that it's caused. Especially to their reputation.

What tell-tale want to think about is this. I have seen many comments on this forum and others, saying that because episode four was so bad they aren't going to buy season three, or even go onto the next episode of season two. Yes some of it could be bluster and they will buy and play it regardless. Some though won't and a bad name spreads quicker than a good one.

So come on tell-tale, i'm throwing the gauntlet down here. This is your forum, so you must read plenty of these threads. You know that many, many people were/are dissatisfied with episode four. So what went wrong? What was the cause of the re-write? Why was the story changed?

At the end of the day, we the customers deserve a bit of an explanation at least. After all, we have put our heart and soul into this game. We love every aspect of it, we have followed Clementine for a long time now and she is more than just a game character. We care about her future and about the future of the game itself. If we didn't, then we wouldn't be bothered to write on here and voice our opinions. We don't want to see The Walking Dead go under and disappear. If you continue to make bad episodes though, that's exactly what will happen. So come on, lets have someone official on here, one of the main writers. Or even the one that wrote episode four.

I'm not going to hold my breath, but you never know.

  • I don't think they've blown it. Yeah it's not as good as season 1 but it's still a lot better than some other games that get released.

  • None of the decisions make a difference in "Amid the Ruins'': Sarah dies either way, Jane leaves either way, Rebecca dies either way and the russians trap you whether you take the bag or not. The coherency goes to shit. I'd expect my decision to make a difference but it doesn't.

  • "Season 2 BLOWS because they killed off characters that didn't NEED to die and could've made the story better. But what do you expect when you have a shit ton of guys writing 1 damn story? A train wreck, and that's EXACTLY what we got. Telltale's own opinion on deaths not only made it worse, but made me lose hope for the series."

This is the entire comment to which I replied. Please point out the part that is anything more than "my favorite characters died so the story sucks now."

  • I don't think they "blew it" by any means, but there are certainly things I miss from season one, mainly (and I have said this before in several other threads) the lack of ability to talk to the other characters. My biggest issue with season two is by far the fact that I feel less attached to the characters than I did in season one, and I attribute most of that to the lack of hubs and proper opportunities to talk to people. In season one we had several opportunities to talk to the other characters in every episode and it really helped to make you care about them I think and I really hope this will return in season three because I do think that it is missing. The Walking Dead, at its core, is very character driven (or at least it is to me) and when something is character driven, you have to spend time on the characters and allow the players to spend time to actually talk to them and get a chance to find out more about them.

Or at least that's just my opinion.
