I don't want to sound hateful, but this place now feels like a kindergarten. I much prefer the relentless - but helpful - criticism and debating than...whatever the new forum is.
Besides, I wasn't even aware of the discussion regarding these changes. I don't think it was fair to implement them so abruptly.
Now the people who agree can simply click on the thumbs up button while those who disagree must write a reply (like I'm doing right now), which takes a lot more effort. That simply doesn't work well when a post presents a controversial opinion (which happens quite often in this forum).
I'm not sure whether I'll be able to adapt to this new policy.

I liked the dislike bar, it showed people that you don't agree with the person or that their theory doesn't make sense.
But then there is the problem with the dislike trolls but that's something that shouldn't be too hard to ignore in my opinion.
It doesn't really feel the same without it, it feels kinda boring.

Completey agree. Its like I am trapped in a pre-school class where there are no wrong answers and everyone has to love one another. Not saying anyone should be mean to one another but at the same time this is supposed to be a 18+ forum.
Just get rid of it completely.

I want the downvote button back as well... seriously... I don't want to do all those perverse verbal things instead... I mean, all this essentially forces us to have an opinion on something that exceeds "don't like it"... that's just not for everyone, people! Thoughtful exchanges are overrated.
