Well to me the Jane endings are much closer to "Live happily ever after" than Kenny's. They are in Carvers old camp with food, supplies, and new people as opposed to Kennys endings which either involve leaving your friend or wandering out into the wilderness. Maybe Jane's endings feel hollow because you took the safe option and didn't really accomplish anything new. You went round in a freaking circle.
Did you see the newest Playing Dead interview where they talked about the finale? They said they read the forums yet go off on how they knew… more "so many people loved Kenny" and they wanted to see if people could ever actually leave/kill him. How could they not know that there are very mixed opinions on Kenny? It's not like everyone adores Kenny.
Choosing Kenny is the Good End where you win. Choosing Jane is the Bad End where you lose.
Don't know why you're all overthinking this. P… morelenty of other games have endings like that. This time Telltale tricked you by making you think Kenny was the dark path, when instead he's Love and Life.
If you want the good end, just go and get it.
Well doesn't pretty much everybody carry a gun anyway? I mean according to the red-headed guy they had been walking around for weeks, so having a gun for survival is no surprise to me.
100% agreed. That was pretty out of character for Kenny. I also felt the whole MikeBonnieArvo thing was a bit sketchy. It just seemed so out of character for Mike and Bonnie to just ditch everybody and take all the supplies with them. I can understand them trying to leave the group and get away from Kenny, but the way it was executed just felt a bit implausible IMO.
I’m almost certain that they put more work in Kenny’s endings on purpose. Need more proof? Compare the ending where you kill Kenny and leave… more Jane, and the ending where you let Jane die and leave Kenny.
In the former, Jane gets about two lines pathetically begging Clem to forgive her as Clem angrily stalks off with the baby.
In the latter, Kenny gets a five minute speech where he tells Clem she’s awesome and that she’ll be the best big sister ever and begs her to live for all the people that took care of her, complete with heartrending violin music. And the worst part about this ending is that it is solid evidence that Telltale’s ultimate concern with the writing was making absolutely sure the player sympathized with Kenny, no matter what choices you made.
If you tell Kenny that “you’re too dangerous, AJ and I aren’t safe with you,” Kenny doesn’t protest at all. The man who flipped out whenever Clem didn’t agree with him and was obses… [view original content]
How are Jane's endings "bad" exactly? You're left in shelter with an experienced survivor, who has in my eyes proven to care about Clementine. Sure we don't what the agenda of the random family is yet, but I want my Clem to try to retain her faith in humanity and other people. Wellington might or might not be safe, we don't really know that yet either. And the walking away with Kenny and AJ ending is definitely no more optimistic then being at Howes, if you think about it objectively.

The Kenny endings partly had more of an impact on me because I've known him longer. We've been through more crud together 'cause he's been around since S1E1 whereas Jane just got introduced three episodes ago. Also, on a more personal level, Kenny is pretty much exactly like my dad, and he acts like a dad towards Clem. So, there was that emotional connection there as well.
secondly, pick jane, or be alone, and stop hating on kenny(i'm not a kenny lover myself, i hate both haters and lovers)
and then, if you think this as a happy ending.. well, 3 characters lived in the end, kenny didn't want all the sacrifices they made to be in vain, that's why he wanted to let clem and AJ into wellington, not because he wants to be a ''hero''.
if you chose to go with kenny, all the sacrifices you made were in VAIN, and you're walking with a BABY, with no food(there's not even breast feeding) a mentally broken man(he even proves it) and most of all, you don't even know where you are going, kenny's ending made me cry, the ending with jane was more.. ''happy'' as you call it
Yes, I saw it. It's purpose felt it was to make a hero. It was a pretty happy ending. Walking off in the sunset (figuratively) with Kenny th… moreen him sacrificing himself to let you into Wellington. I don't mind the premise in and of itself it's just mixed with everything else Kenny's favoring was very forced. I felt it was shoved down my throat. Just like Luke in EP1. Then if you pick Kenny, oh look everything is better. Kenny was right, Kenny is fine, Kenny's the hero. But I can't see that happening in RL and even less in TWD, where that almost never happens. Look at Shane. Hell, Carl almost got raped and even had to kill his mother. Compared to all these things, it's very obvious Kenny wasn't meant to be a huge hero, even though I never felt he was.
Wellington being like Crawford is only a superstition. The fact that they were willing to provide Kenny with a full bag of supplies, or another whole stash of resources for Clem if she refuses to stay, dismisses the idea that Wellington is full of bad people. Either way, the community of Wellington will help Clem, by accepting her into the walls or by giving her one more pack of food, water, meds, etc.
Meanwhile, you have Howe's, which is known to have occasional encounters with herds, and is already attracting other survivors, which may or may not be trusted. There's also barely anymore supplies to be found outside of Howe's, which Luke explained in Ep. 3. Carver stripped everything clean. Let's not forget that Howe's is huge, and there has been a break-in before, with walkers crashing in through the expansion by the comic store.
Comparatively speaking, Howe's is similar to Wellington in that it is what Wellington had to start as. Clem and Jane would have to build up to Wellington from scratch, and deal with worse condition due to the lack of cold winters and the established hundreds of walkers roaming the forests around them. Wellington is already built up, it's already prepared to handle bandits and large groups of walkers; and Clem wouldn't have to be responsible for guarding the perimeter with Jane, being put into harm's way if they were to attack like they did at the Motor Inn.
Wellington turns out to be a lot like Crawford.... It doesn't feel ideal at all.
Clementine starting her own community with Jane and being in a place that CAN be made self-sufficient is amazing.
No, Jane is the good ending. You save Kenny from becoming the next Lily/Carver and you get to run your own Community. Finally Clementine is calling the shots.
The issue being is that if you act like that it fucks up the immersion because a large part of how the other characters treat you is because of your "inseparable" relationship with Kenny, a relationship that was non-existent for some people's canons.
Just in case you haven't read it yet, in the Jane ending, you, Jane and the baby go back to Howe's, and find food and some baby formula. You are approached by a small family? (a father, his adoptive son and another lady) who asks if they can come in because their son is very hungry. If you don't let him in, I'm pretty sure it just ends with you, Jane and the baby. If you choose to let them in (or the timer runs out in which Jane will let them in) you notice the father has a gun in his backpocket (to me, meant he could've easily shot you but didn't) and it's implied that you, Jane, the baby and this new family plan to fix the place up and make it into a pretty good base (without the Carver). The father of the group seems questionable whether to trust by majority opinion in these forums. But it was pretty anti-climatic, ending with the kid complimenting Clem's hat.
People compliment Clem's hat is always scary as fuck to me. It's either, the crazy lady who was obsessed with Clem in season one or the chick who killed Omid in season 2. People liking her hat is never a good thing. That's why the ending freaked me out even though is was a bit flat.
I thought the Jane endings were interesting. If you let the people in, it shows the guy having a gun and the boy saying, "cool hat". The mus… moreic suddenly becomes dark/looming at this part too. Maybe they're putting on an act and will rob Jane and Clem? Who knows...

They said they read the forums soooo...
Where the hell is Eddie and 400 days crew?
Kinda offtopic
Not really, she was willing & proven to change her pragmatist nature only for Clementine.
It's the good ending in YOUR opinion..
Why don't people get this, the game is based on YOUR choices, there is no good or bad.

Lol he's "Love and Life". Sure, whatever.

it was bittersweet, first of all, not ''happy''..

So which is the safer place for Clem?
And if you let the timer run out, Jane let's the family in.
This shows that she just wants to create an appearance of being hardened, but really she is compassionate or she wouldn't let them in.
A few weeks later in Clem/Janes Community... And some new people joined also.
Some guy: can I have more food.
Clementine: No!
Dark sky and thunder and Clementine having a very heavy evil voice, red eyes and laughs evil
Clementine: If you can't follow the rules you will be executed!
Dark sky going away, everything normall again
Clementine: if you please maybe I give you some food
