Games That Scared the Crap Out of You
So, let's share stories of shitting ourselves at night. Let me start off with Police Quest 4. Fuck, that game freaked me out. THe first level takes place at the scene of a horrific crime at night. You see the tortured body of a cop and a gunshot-riddled child body in a dumpster. The music didn't help either. And there were the occasional jump scares during the game.
The other one is King's Quest 8: Mask of Eternity. Most of the levels in that game had a dark atmosphere and creepy music to go along with it. There were the enemies that sometimes jumped you with no warning. And the zombies, that scared the shit out of me.

Outlast scared the hell out of me. I had to take turns playing with a friend because it scared me so much. Doctor Trager was the worst.
I remember watching my dad play FEAR when I was younger too and that gave me nightmares for weeks after.
Playing Gone Home for the first time at 2 in the morning is a harrowing experience indeed.
Five Nights at Freddy's. Scariest game I have ever played.
Ive never played that game and since my computer sucks, I dont plan to.

I thought Silent Hill 2 was pretty scary when I first played it.
Yea that face is freaky, but seeing that fox run down the hall is terrifying. You have like a split second to close the door.

Five nights a Freddy's is the most terrifying game I've ever played.
You just explore this empty house.
It's about like being yourself, and rebelling towards a more equal society and stuff. It's good big themes of Riot Grrrl era music if that means anything to you.

I've never played F.E.A.R. I have heard its good, though.
Never played much scary games, but I tried a Silent Hill game on the Wii once and I didn't even finish it. It was pretty scary
My main fear out of it is that you are your own downfall.
Also not being able to move out the area, and creepy mascots don't help at all.
It's an instant classic, you gotta try it!
yeah those mascotts are creepy as hell. but the game isn't really terrifying i got bored of it after the first scare
F.E.A.R is epic and the FEAR FILES standalone DLC made me cry about the death of your best friend. it was intense i was like "No. Nonononononono! NO!!! JOHN!!! JOOOOOOOOOOOOHNNNNNNN!!!!!"

Resident Evil 5 isn't the scariest game I've played, but some parts got me. Like this gentleman, for example. He's the only thing that has made me turn off the good ol' Playstation 3 and run away in terror.
I'm hoping The Evil Within will be 2spooky.
