Toy Story 3 teaser trailer
Wow, I was surprised to see this at the theater. Film's not coming out for another year and they've already released a trailer. At least I saw it in 3D  Anyway:

i wanna see up, how was it?
I actually really liked the movie. It didn't try to be too cheesy with the 3D, it enhanced the movie instead of being a way to waste more money. However, there is a lot of dark moments in the film (including in two moments, blood, although very mild) Of course, Pixar's great storytelling is in there, as well as their animating expertise. All in all, I give it 4.5/5 stars.
Oh wow. Toy Story 2 came out in 1999. So yeah, ten years, and probably 11 by the time the third one comes out.
Oh yes, and sometime around early October, to get people ready for the concetrated awesome, Disney and Pixar are going to be re-releasing the first two Toy Story films in Disney Digital 3D as a double feature. This shall be fun.
urgh 3d, I hope this fad ends soon. I think it is far too long a time to release the sequel though, over 10 years (note there are only 3 star wars, 3 indys and 3 die hards).
those that saw the 1st 2 as children (i.e. me) are now adults. sure the film will be good, but it is really late.
The 3D fad (especially for CGI films) isn't likely to end soon... after all, considering so many people now have really good home theatre setups, the movie studios need something to draw people back into cinemas. And for animation studios like Dreamworks SKG and Pixar, 3D seems to be it.
Biggest problem for me is that only one cinema in Adelaide[1] shows movies in 3D, and they charge extra for the privilige.... and I bet you 3D movies aren't cheaper on cheap-arse tuesday which is when I usually go.
We saw Monsters vs Aliens in "normal" and it's quite obvious that 3D may have made it somewhat more entertaining... although all the poking-things-out-the-screen stuff was in the first 10 minutes. We did go and see Beowulf in 3D at the one-and-only 3D cinema and that was OK (although lots of silly pointing-stuff-at-the-screen too) and I'm definitely going to go and see Coraline in 3D when it's FINALLY released here (September, I believe... yes that's a long delay from the US February release) but otherwise it's just far easier to see the 2D versions of these films...
[1] And we don't have an IMAX cinema at all. We did have one a few years ago, but back then of course the only IMAX movies were short documentaries etc so nothing really worth seeing apart from the novelty of IMAX... so it shut down. Of course, now the blockbuster movies have IMAX releases and yet we've got nowhere to see them in IMAX.
Cause I'm cool with that!
