Definitely! I've never played any Borderlands game before but this was so awesome! I love this game already
As with most Telltale games, outside of missing some references to the series the game is based off of, you should be good to go. With an exception being Telltale's upcoming Game of Thrones title (according to an IGN article), they typically design their games to appeal to both newcomers and veteran fans of the source material.
I'm also wondering if I should get it.

If it helps, I knew nothing about borderlands, and everything made sense to me.
