Of course, the opposite spectrum of making your user title "god..."

About as accurate as anyone else who has ever said they are God / Son of God / Spoken to God / Made up some stories about God.

And in Escape from Monkey Island,
there's an entire church for LeChuck

Actually this was mentioned in the original post.
About as accurate as anyone else who has ever said they are God / Son of God / Spoken to God / Made up some stories about God.
Hmm... People who say they've spoken to God... I don't really see the problem there. People do it all the time (they call it 'praying'). It's when people tell you that God replied that you should start questioning their seriousness and the authenticity of their claim.

[edit] Also this thread wasn't supposed to be an attempt to keep the 'debate' about paganism in MI going so much as it was a way for people to speculate on the title's meaning so as to calm down anybody who might have jumped the gun and started to cast aspersions before playing the game and finding out for certain what its meaning is.

My point is that Monkey Island is not as offensive as some of the other games on the market.
different games r made in the world, today. but MI is the game i care about.

Also, try spelling out words and use capitation when you write, instead of using "u" and "2". It's nearly impossible to understand what you are saying.
You do not look like a person, who even wants to understand what I write. So, why bother? If you are that annoyed due to my posts and manner of writing, I suggest you refrain from reading them.

Would probably not fit in if there suddenly began to be gods in Monkey Island.
sure. that'd be at the very least superfluous and excessive.

Monkey Island has never been controversial in its subject matter.
lets just hope it stays that way.

anybody who uses the term "paganism" in the year 2009
and when i was just beginning to think that some ppls words about me going a bit overboard with my concerns bout the title made sense... but someone having problems with my capitalization and using the word "paganism"... lol ur comment makes it look like u've actually never seen a pagan in ur life. i have. i've even spoken to those pagans (or polytheists - if u're more comfortable with that word) and i've even had debates with them. if u know nothing about them it doesnt mean they dont exist.
In case anyone has forgotten, in The Secret of Monkey Island,
    you go to Hell
    .
whatever LeChuck (maybe someone other than him did, cant quite remember) calls it, it's just a pool o lava under the island.
And in Escape from Monkey Island,
there's an entire church for LeChuck

looks like you really misunderstood me. i don't think that i really mind stuff like that bein in the game, as long as the context doesn't imply that some1 is a real "diety".

They were performing a ghost-human marriage at the end of the original Monkey Island. Doesn't that - I don't know - violate the sanctity of marriage or some BS like that?
    oh, come on! LOL

aye! an it worked! for sure i felt much better afta readin what some ppl suggested could be put under that title.

k... so let me say a few things to conclude our debate/discussion.

i've read what different ppl (several threads) said in this forum bout the "pirates of the caribbean", an i can say, that ppl didn't like the third part. so, those of us, who watched that last part, didn't like it, though, maybe the other two parts weren't that bad... so, what was wrong with potc3? what made it such a disaster?

    * the plot? nah, generally, t wasn't so bad. actually some stuff like going to another dimension by flipping the ship upside down were some interesting ideas!

    * the humour? i don't think that Johnny Depp was less funny in this movie than the previous ones (maybe a bit crazier, but not less funny, i think).

    * the special effects? no way! the scene where the two pirate ships were shooting each other while being drawn into the whirlpool was breathtaking (as i remember it in the cinema)!

so what spoiled such a fun, interesting film? ah, yes... it was the "sea god" (or whatever) story they put in the movie that utterly ruined it! sure, my posts could have seen like logic of a madman at FIRST GLANCE, but after a while, even people who opposed me at the beginning began to see reason behind them. and, i want to thank Marduk for this thread. and, i want to thank those guys, who tried their best to reassure me that TTG probably isn't putting anything bad under that title.

of course i never meant to oppose stuff like CMI "volcano god" (oh, come on - a bunch of idiots, calling themselves VEGETERIAN cannibals, worshipping a volcano can't be taken seriously!), what i am opposing is stuff like that in potc. i really hope that Telltale learn a lesson from disney's mistakes, and make TMI the right way!

If we all agree with this, let's just call it a day, and end this discussion. Thank you Telltale Crew for this opportunity for us, MI fans, to freely express our opinion (and, hopefully, be heard)!

For the record, the reason that I disliked the third POTC movie was that
Captain Jack Sparrow dies at the end of the second movie, and therefore, the plot takes a while to develop in the third.
In addition to that, the finale was a sad one.
Will Turner is doomed to sail the seven seas for the rest of eternity, while his beloved holds onto his still beating heart.

I don't remember anything about a "sea god." I don't know why anyone would take offense at something as silly as that, though. Clearly, there is no actual sea god.

Ghost Pirate: "You have enraged the mighty sea god!"
Me: "Seriously? Oh, I'm so scared."

    Emphasis on sarcasm.

p.s.: it'd be nice if we got an official comment on the matter... or at least, if this poll was reopened [not necessarily the thread, at least just the POLL]
