allrighty; 10:28pm here in Australia - set my alarm for 3am; watchin the MJ thing on telly and playing it in the ad breaks (though i think i may end up by abandoning the television altogether) :D
  • edited July 2009
I'm fine with 5 GMT because that's shortly after I finish work anyway.... It'd be worse knowing it's been released but I can't play it :(

On another not, isn't it so awesome to see so many people excited about the release of a new episode in an adventure game franchise released 15 years ago or so?

in the scheme of things i would say 3hr 40mins is very much the final countdown... 3hrs, 9years, 3hrs, 9years

I've set my alarm for 3am as well. Hopefully it will be up by then so I can get a couple hours of gameplay in before I have to go to work at 7.30am.

Well, I'm off to sleep. I'll probably actually get out of bed by around 7 in the morning, rather than sleeping in like I usually do on days off. Wouldn't want to play at 3 AM... be too tired and then I'd end up being tired the whole day. What a waste.

Enjoy mashing F5 like a bunch of... um... impatient Monkey Island fans.

Guys, they may start at 8 in the morning because it is the long awaited return of Guybrush. So that only means 2h30mins left!!!!

If I didn't have to go to work tommorow I would just sleep in till 9am like I normally do and then play MI all day but since I have to work I don't want to wait until 6pm before I get to play for the first time so really early morning for me tommorow.

The link just changed. Try http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/page.php?do=review_talesofmonkeyisland_ep1

In short...an awesome game. The only real negative thing was the control scheme and then they mentioned the character graphics could be a little better.

It sounded like from the review that it was challenging, this is something that pleases me :)> I'm glad to hear these puzzles aren't going to be wimpy. (Hint System can lower the difficulty level so not to worry for those who might have trouble)

good review- hated the new control schene...

It might still be about another three hours or so, but at least I'll have Tales of Monkey Island before I go to bed tonight. :D

Why oh why did they abandon Point&Click...
  • edited July 2009
Yeah, I'm not such a big fan of this new mouse scheme either.
  • edited July 2009
theres another 2 reviews on Gamerankings...all hate the control scheme...sounds like a pretty good start to the series though

Likely the 360 version that will likely come-to-be in the future. I can live with W&G style, and if it helps them enough financially for them to keep pumping out adventure games in the future then I can live with it, but yeah, point and click is way better. When playing MI, humour is #1 for me though.

Which is what I've been saying since they abandoned it.

It seems to me that they're updating the game page now..

    Some stuff seems missing?

Okay, I'm going to say it. It's just my opinion though, of course.
I don't like the idea of pointing and clicking in a 3D game.
I may even... *gasp* ...use a gamepad with Tales of Monkey Island.
And don't get me wrong; I enjoy playing all sorts of games.
New ones, old ones, text-based, rogue-likes that have an action assigned to nearly every key..
I've played it all, so I have a lot of experience with games of all sorts of different control schemes.

I wouldn't count on it... You still have to take into account that there will be about a billion people who want to download this at the same time... :|

They had point and click in the 360 version of sam & max, and it worked quite well.

good review- hated the new control schene...

...hated the mouse only option. not gonna mess about with that anyway-sounds rushed to try and please everyone. i'm sure keyboard+mouse will work fine for those of us with 2 hands

The same people that provide bandwidth for Steam are the same ones we'll be downloading Tales of Monkey Island from, so don't worry about it. :)

I didn't think of that. I never played Sam and Max on 360 either, though.
