Friggin? Why?

So Borderlands in general has unpleasant people saying every other expletive under the sun, has a consistent ESRB rating of M, features terrible acts of human cruelty and wanton horror.

But it still uses the likes of Friggin, Freaking, and Fricking when it's time to lay down the F-bomb?

Why?

  • They use fuck too. I know Assquez says it sometime.

  • Yeah, if you shoot Finch with an incendiary bullet in episode 3 he says, "What the fuck?", and then collapses.

  • It's supposed to be kinda pathetic and comedic, I think. I dunno.

  • Telltale is following the source material well with that. The original Borderlands game never drops a swear word worse than "bitch." No idea why, but that's the case (though Telltale has broken it twice with both August and Finch saying fuck)

  • I honestly think, if used right, the word freakin' can be really funny. It's just another word.

  • Comedy. In a world where people do horrible things, they still find cursing bad...Hell, in BL2 Claptrap gets censored.

  • ...Have you met Mr. Torque?

Like GoldenPaladin above says, censorship in Borderlands is used for comedic value.
