Conker: Live & Reloaded was one of the most fun multiplayer games in existence. Storming the beach never got old, it's one of my greatest memories in video game history. Intense, exciting, hilarious, and an absolute blast. It's really sad that there is literally no way to play it online anymore.

  • Left 4 Dead 2.

I usually go for the story, so I'm usually in singleplayer only, but... Left 4 Dead 2 is just a thing I always play online.

  • Here's hoping Rare Replay has the badass multiplayer. Cheers.

  • Town of Salem, its probably called "of Salem" because of Salem Massachusetts past as a witch hunting town in the 1800's, Have you played it before?

It's basically an online version of the game Mafia

  • Oh NO! NOT MORE LOL!!

Ugh... I used to play it way back when it was in beta, it was fun, then my PC burned in a fire and I stopped and decided not to resume after I got another one.

But now, some co-workers got me back into it and I can't stop, that shit is addicting, I stopped my playthroughs of single player games in favour of playing LOL, I don't appreciate that, ugh... I mostly play ARAM though, main mode is a lot of fun but players just take it way too seriously, even when you win it's annoying because the community spews too much hate, they suck the fun out of it, they are much less annoying in ARAM though, sure you still get assholes but it's more like every now and then rather than most of the time.

Some of my favorite multiplayer games are Project Zomboid, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, Arma 3, Crusader Kings II, Don't Starve Together, Hearts of Iron III, and Verdun. It's hard for me to pick one definitively, because I've enjoyed a lot of games with my friends. In the past I've played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and had a good time, as well as Call of Duty 4 and World at War. I tend to enjoy shooters and strategy games the most, and survival games to a lesser extent.

  • I can't even take the word report seriously now, seeing that I hear it every match from both teams. I make the mistake of playing normal solo and duo. It's really hard getting a normal team. If you win all you'll see is the other team shouting report that, and report that. I don't really like ARAM but I played some on the bilgewater event and it gave me a bit more respect for it.

  • It was awesome. It was the first game where you could truly be a player killer. The term "PKer" came from Ultima Online. I played as a thief character and would spend my time trying to murder/rob blind of every possession they own. It was a cutthroat game, so edgy at its time that people needed a safe world, and one was created.

This caused the game to fall apart because by splitting the player base it showed developers that most gamers didn't want to play that way. They wanted the easy experience. I feel like that is how gaming was going back then, games were getting a lot easier, compared to playstation era.

That lead to the design of games like World of Warcraft, which imo was a complete bastardization of the game.

I loved this game, it was so great. For example you could troll people, you could steal all their house belongings, everything they own in the game. You could kill people and loot their corpses. It was a phenomenal game in its day. People still play this game to this day, because it was so amazing in its time.

It has a huge place in my Gaming heart.

  • I don't think WoW was a bastardization of that game, it was simply the logical evolution of what people wanted in that genre, that being said it turns out people actually do like to play multiplayer games that way as proven by the current popularity of survival games, which operate in a very similar way as far as community goes, like for example you can murder people, loot their corpses get into their house and steal all valuables and then burn their houses to the ground.

I don't know why people still play Ultima Online though, from what I've heard a lot of what you liked has been removed from the game.

The game had a DayZ ish existence. It was amazing. It was the first game that introduced a concept in gaming... "risk vs reward." For example say i take my magic sword that does more damage than a regular sword to fight monsters for money. If i get killed, all my gear drops on the ground, and i have X amount of time to return before it "decays." If i am killed by a player, then everything in my inventory has the choice to be looted by any player that doubleclicks on your corpse.

That was just the beginning of the game. .I always enjoyed the adrenaline rush i would get when running away/ or Killing someone, not knowing when you're about to die imo makes the game a lot more challenging and rewarding.

Unlike World of Warcraft, you can't be killed. You sit there, and farm your little monster or whatever you do. There is no risk of you dying, other than getting disconnected.

Then the scamming started to come into the game. Basically people would trick people various ways into paying something they thought was valuable, but it turns out to be a scam. I never scammed anyone because i felt that would be wrong, however i was scammed once into buying a "black dye tub" which turns out to be a black bonnet with a regular dye tub underneath. I was upset at the time, but i learned a very important lesson.

Then the game came out with player housing. Each house had a key. My character was a thief, i would try to steal that key, so i could track them down their house, and loot it at the middle of the night. I done this so many times, i never heard so many curse words. One time, this is a true story. I swear to god this actually happens.

One day i was playing World of Warcraft with my best friend. We just got this game, and we level our way up to 60, and get into the first guild. I hit it off with the GM, really well. He was a gamer just like me, i find out he played UO, it turned out apparently i robbed him on the Chesapeake server, once he knew it was me, he freaked the fuck out. It was AMAZING. He kicked me out, then sent a invite just to gkick me again.

It was the best LOLable experience in my life.
