    So true I love S&M ;)

Who doesn't? Their wanton mayhem and irreverent, cynical sense of humor ... wait, you did mean Sam and Max right?;)
I think the disturbing part of this puzzle is when it's available on Wiiware and some parent downloads it for their five year old. Although the kid will probably be fine with it. The other amazing thing is Telltale managed to make amputation funny. Although I am surprised they didn't make a "Roman Holiday" reference with the hole in the portal to the wind machine. Does that show restraint, or did they just not think of it?

I felt like a dirty, dirty person solving this puzzle.

Oh oh yeah, hmm Sam&Max off course, what else could have I meant? ;)

For the kids, I think they won't understand the all meaning of those groans.
I personally loved the way guybrush can't "plug" the weather vane. The acting is sooooooo good on this phrase

I've never seen (nor heard of) Roman Holiday, so I lean towards they did not think of it ;)

There's something in the eyes and the eye lashes, maybe they wear the same mascara, who knows!

My problem with this one was I totally thought you still had to find a new lid for it. I scoped out the tar barrel lid and definitely thought I could get it off somehow. Finally I just held the weather vain up, got the first and second row, but after the first row "moaned" I got it. Was a bit scorned though that I tried to hard to find a replacement piece. The other ones by pattern led me to think that I had to find a replacement.

Still thought it was great though

Haha I LOVED de Singe. I mean, he's supposed to be sado-masochistic, that's why he's named after the Marquis de Sade.
Everything about de Singe was hilarious and slightly inappropriate. How about the masochistic monkey that loved being electrocuted? ;)

I'm currently replaying Sam and Max S2E5, and I noticed a reference to De Sade. While in Hell, you can ask Max if he's heard the latest, and he'll respond that he heard the Marquis de Sade was demoted after his inappropriate behavior at the company Christmas party. >.< Looks like Telltale's been wanting to make jokes about the guy for a while now.

Well, he is their favorite author ... (sorry! sorry! :o)

Heh, it may be wrong but I never like Telltale quite so much as when they're being inappropriate. :D

de Singe's voice became so hi sometimes, I thought it was the sound screwing up... my hat goes off to Jared Emerson-Johnson.

I think Nurse Edna should've made an appearance in de Singe's lab. That's the kind of thing she goes in for.

You were meant to solve it
    with sounds
like you did, Anne. The more complex way of solving it, is to use
the weather-vein like you did in the second map puzzle. If you look really close at the weather-vein, there are two faces showing. You would have used one of the faces before. The other face is the solution to this puzzle.
I don't think this is the way it was meant to be solved because
it might be really difficult or impossible to make out the faces on the lowest resolution and graphics setting, since they are so small.

I played on lowest graphics and the face was pretty visible. But (sick, sick, sick me) I just wanted to torment de Signe for a while and I figured out the other way torturing him : )

yeah, this puzzle had me in stitches :D, i also ended up thinking i could use the lid from the tar barrel from the screaming narwhal, but then i went back to mess around with the turnstile thing again, and realised the "pleasure sound" was there.

    hilarious xD

When I realized how it had to be solved, I started seriously asking to myself _what's inside those idols_

That was a hilarious puzzle although I didn't get it immediately. Screw all this politically correctness and have some edge from time to time.

I don't think guybrush realised he enjoyed it

I don't think Telltale will ever reach to the point of weirdness that was Dark Seed. I really find Telltales games pretty tame compared to plenty of other adventure games out there. So this puzzle didn't really...um...disturb me.

Incidentally, I also liked how these last few puzzles fit in: you (the player) were given (seemingly) free control over the order in which you solved the remaining puzzles, with the Marquis de Singe showing up wherever you went next, yet everything was set up so that you necessarily ended up with the Marquis de Singe at the last spindle without an axis where you could finally defeat him.

Of course the plot requires that you solve that puzzle last, but it didn't feel forced at all, and this illusion of player freedom makes for a great player experience! (I think I've mentioned the golden statue of Elaine getting stolen in the Curse of Monkey Island as another brilliant example of game designers getting this right.)

Even solving that puzzle with the weather vane, I thought it was kind of disturbing. I'm glad I was playing with headphones.

It makes no difference - you still get the "confirming" sounds :)

heh, the first time I spun the dials and got a moan, I went 'GAH!' and switched the speaker off! But since it was a guy called the Marquis de Singe, I can't say I was surprised. Didn't take me long to work it out with the weathervane, though.
