The outrage over point and click + 2d is getting on my nerves fast. This game was amazing and great.

I DO TOO, i might been criticizing a few technical things but i love it that you guys brought back Monkey Island and in great quality (both visually and story)
(hopefully you bring back more Lucas Arts IP's to life ^^).

I was sort of sceptical when i installed this and looking at LeChuck for the first time, but boy, was i wrong!

This game was AWESOME and totally worth the small amount of money you pay to play it!

    Thank you TellTale!

    Thank you Telltale!

I know many people were worried that Monkey Island could not be handled well except by Lucasarts (despite the fact that so many of your team members are Lucas alumni), but what you've made is truly great.

It was witty, well written, reasonably challenging without being frustrating, and left me eagerly anticipating the next episode.

    Thankyou everyone at Telltale!!
    You're totally awesome. Yes, you.

Thank you for breathing new life into the adventure genre, Telltale. Without you, it would still be on life support. It seems that you have brought a number of other companies around to your line of thought, too. Today Monkey Island, tomorrow... Day of the Tentacle?

    Dear TTG

Don't think that all the people who cry about this or that not being perfect dislike you or your game. I for one love it. I just want it to be even better.

    Thank you Telltale peeps!

    Keep 'em coming!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Not only have you brought back a series that is dear to my heart and the hearts of many, but you have done so marvelously.
    Keep up the great work.

Thank you for continuing my favorite game franchise, one which I never thought would live on past its 2000 release, and handling it with such care and respect for the originals and fans!

Seems like some people will just complain about anything because they like to hear themselves complain... the audio was low quality, the controls are bad, I hate the dialogue, Guybrush's goatee is weird, blah blah blah! It's all nitpicking!

What matters is... MONKEY ISLAND IS BACK!!!

    Thank you so much, Telltale!

Counting down the days to Chapter Two, now!

thanks :) awesome fun times, can't wait for round two.

I'm happy to say that I have no complaints! I probably enjoyed this episode just as much as the first part of Curse, my all-time fav! THANK YOU!

Having been watching this forum for a while without participating, I've noticed that people will generally sign up to complain as opposed to sign up and congratulate. And when I realized my hypocrisy as I complained about people complaining; I signed up to congratulate...

I hope you guys at Telltale realize what a wonderful job you have done - to bring back a classic game series that I for one certainly farewelled the idea of ever seeing another incarnation.

Keep up the amazing work and I encourage other 'board stalkers' to sign up and fight like a cow for an amazing effort...

    Cheers,

    Guybrush lives!

Yeah its not bad for the first episodes, god knows alot of stuff can be improved and hopefully will :) be its a good start.

Just hope you can try and fit the games togther, so that when i wanna reply Monkey island, dont make me have to install and start 5 seperate games, make them go all togther in the same map, :)

    and Thanks.

In July 1995 I spent a total of 20 hours sitting in front of a screen in my parent's attic, not able to focus on something else until LeChuck exploded in the final showdown of SoMI.
I was 14 years old then and you guys managed to make me feel nearly exactly the same again (except for it didnt take me 20 hours this time and perhaps I'm just not so easy to impress any more).
It really felt like Monkey Island. The best piece of adventure I played since...since...Grim Fandango I guess.

You guys are heroes to me ( I just wonder how it feels to work for all these years in this business and still to be so much linked to something, you started 20 years back...)

    Thanks you guys!

And while the critics have been vocal, I think the approval poll has something like 90% of the people thinking the game was either very good or outstanding. It's clear that you've made an excellent game, it fits perfectly with the Monkey Island series as a whole, and I can't wait to play the rest of it!

Thanks Telltale, 2009 is already shaping up to be a good year for games and ToMI looks like its going to make it into one of the golden years

All I can say is, this was a great start and I can tell the series is going to be awesome.

Thank you telltale! This was your best game yet, keep em coming!
  • edited July 2009
Thank you SO DAMN MUCH. I'm resisting the temptation to write something like "that was a worthy successor to Monkey Island" because it's not. It just is Monkey Island, plain and simple. I never thought we'd see the day.
  • edited July 2009
That.... was.... AWESOME! It was funny and compelling and I found myself thinking about the game when I wasn't even at my PC it certainly has re-kindled my love of Monkey Island and if my brother hasn't bought it already im going to buy it for him.

If the following episodes keep the high standard I will be amazed.

    Great effort Telltale!
(but you still fight like a dairy farmer)

(Edit: I just completed the game by the way)

Thanks also. Although i havent finished it yet cause i had to get a video card.. (let me tell you how hard that was to keep waiting for it to release, then get home after work and the screen is mostly black cause my onboard video card wouldnt show anything)

I love it though so far!

    Thanks Telltale!!!!!!!!!!

You are my heroes! I thought i was never going to play a MI again and was patiently waiting more news in 2015. It was awesome and now I am pulling my hair out for episode 2. Brings me back to waiting for MI 2: Lechuck's Revenge. It's been a long while since I laughed out load at a game. I want to play again just for dialog I missed.

I registered here for the sole reason of letting Telltale know how much I appreciate their effort with this game. I'll be honest that I had my doubts but you guys really delivered and I couldn't be more thrilled with Tales. Thank you so much!
