Truly an excellent game. You have managed to take a game that I and others hold close to our hearts and bring it into the 21st century while still remaining true to its roots. There will always be people on forums nit-picking because it doesn't play exactly like SoMI no matter what you do, but I think you did an excellent job and I'm looking forward to the next in the series. Thanks!
Telltale, I can't thank you just for Tales of Monkey Island, but also for reviving the Sam & Max games. Both the Monkey Island series and Sam & Max: Hit the Road were childhood favorites, and to see them revived made me ecstatic with nostalgia. You've done a fantastic job on each and I look forward to many more installments!
Great work - no complaints. I loved the first chapter, contained many more locations than expected. If the same goes for the next chapters, your price for the full set is a bargain.
I was nervous after the trailer, but after playing the game for about 1 minute I had a big smile on my face.. The visual style was excellent! The 3D allowed for some sweeping cinematography and very impressive sight gags (mostly from Guybrush.. nailed a lot of of good facial expressions there). The voice acting was very well done, the timing of playing back the sound clips wasn't robotically timed. Puzzles were hard but not too hard! But most importantly, this is the only adventure game I've played in a long time where I've audibly laughed to myself multiple times while playing! I am SOO happy this game ended up being so over-all well done! I can't wait to play the next 4 bits! I kind of want to wait for them all to come out, and play one big Monkey Island game like the good old days... but I doubt I'll be able to hold myself back... ) Thanks again Telltale!

actually i loved his facial expression. First time i saw a polygon character doing so many expression. Nice work telltales.
I know one extra comment probably won't make much difference, but yes, thank you so much! I had just about given up all hope on ever seeing another MI game. I lent MI3 to my (now wife) when we first met and she was instantly hooked. I started them as they came out on the C=64 (oh, the memories). It was literally just the beginning of this year that my wife and I were last discussing our sadness that such a great series would probably never come back. I haven't finished yet but I am absolutely impressed. Due to having a yound child and an infant (not to mention work), we have very little time to play and I promised my wife I would not play without her so it's gonna take a while to finish but that's okay with us. We were both laughing out loud as we played last night. I haven't laughed with a video game that much since MI went away. The MI style of humor is spot on!
I truly wish you guys the best of luck with this (as well as Lucas Arts) and I hope that it is successful enough to keep it going for years to come. I hope LA will continue the series as well (in addition to the remake), but I'd still be a happy monkey even if they didn't so long as you do.
I really can't say enough. You've made a lot of people very happy and I hope you find lots of "new" fans as well.
Maybe this came up somewhere else, but I am curious how this all started. Did LA decide to do the remake first, or did you decide to do episodes? If anyone has a link on the backstory to how this came back I'd love to read it.
As soon as I saw the Monkey Island title and heard the music after prologue, I knew this game had perfectly nailed the MI feeling. You really did an amazing job, thank you very much!
I guess i want to thank TTG for hammering LucasArts for giving them the franchise and make it happen but i also feel dissapointed by some of the shortcomings a Monkey Island in my opinion does not deserve, like the poor steering and the missing localisations, at least on a Wallace&Grommit level. In these respects the game feels rushed, which it doesn't deserve, considering the status this game has for adventure gamers.
I wanna thanks to!:)
Funny I talked about MI series for a couple of mounths ago, and then they´re
really releases a new game! Jippi, way to go!;)
Love Guybrush Threepwood!:)
I'm absolutely glad I pre-ordered. I'll do the same thing on the future Monkey Islands as well if there's any. (And I pray to god there will be, as an athiest)
Once I got into the controls and everything, this was such an awesome new game play experience! I want more!! I really can't wait for the other chapters to come out! Actually, I'll be off on vacation for the next 3 or 4 weeks, so I'll have something to look forward to when I get back home!
Thank you for being true to Monkey Island and for making this awesome experience possible!
Thank you telltale guys!
I adored the game and am eagerly awaiting the next episode.
I never ever thought that I would see another new monkey island game and so I for one are thrilled to bits.
We had to wait 9 years but this game is well worth the wait ! 1 month ago I couldn't have imagined another MI would be released one day and now... This is just great, the humour, the story, the voices, the characters... it's just like it used to be !
Thanks so much from France !
Can't wait for episode 2 and... please, do Day Of the Tentacle !!!!
