The Cabin crew definitely have done some bad stuff, but I still retain that chasing down former members of his group to kidnap then force to be a part of his community, definitely, does not show a good guy for Clem to support.
Its clear that Carver is a bad guy but he has some skewed sense of justice unlike Governor who pretty much killed his own when he no longer needed them and used them as cannon fodder. I have a feeling that choice between Cabin guys, Kenny/Sarita and Carver will not be an easy one.

The reason why they got attacked by a group of Walkers is because Kenny's weapon released a bullet when he tryed to attack Molly. He was considering her as a danger to the group, just like Lee did. Not to mention that Kenny was in a very bad shape during the events of episode4, his whole family just died a day ago and his one goal to find a boat was demolished, because all the boats in Savanah were either destroyed or already taken. You can't blame Kenny for this, Lee attacked Molly aswell remember?
Recognizing the chest positions was just a trick, a manipulation. It was impossible to end that match with only 3 more moves. He did that only to make Clementine think he is smart (he is tho)
Some people like Carver because he has been decidedly fair with his actions. He is angry that the cabin group left because he's down severa… morel bodies, Rebecca might be carrying a child he cares about, they likely ran away with supplies, Carlos being a doctor makes it important to bring him back, and so forth. Even if Carver is nasty and brutish, he has practical reasons for bringing some of the cabin group back. On top of this, Carver is not stupid. He knows how to scout and, as evidenced by his ability to quickly recognize the positioning of the chess table, he is tactical and calculating.
After the altercation at the lodge, he shows himself to be very forgiving and fair. He kills Walt after Kenny kills one of his guys. Eye for an eye - not morally sound, depending on your standpoint, but it certainly is tit-for-tat. If you decide to push Kenny and have him take a shot at Carver while he is holding Alvin hostage, he returns the favor… [view original content]
'Kenny's weapon released a bullet' why can't you just say Kenny fired? He still made the decision to do it.
His one goal, to find a boat, WAS diminished, correct. And yet he hung around at the shore trying to convince himself otherwise, putting lee in danger.
Also, I don't really think his family dying means he can get no blame. People still blame Lilly for Doug/Carley's death even though her only family member was murdered in front of her recently.

Kenny didn't fire his gun, he got knocked out by Molly and fall on the ground.
Ofcourse he tryed to convince himself and Lee otherwhise, he didn't gave up hope untill he couldn't deny the facts anymore. His one goal was diminished and some mins later he thought that his best friend had died. Kenny was very depressed and hopeless at this moment, so he started to drink the bottle of whiskey.
Are you srsly trying to compare Lilly cold hearted murdering Doug/Carley for no reason, out of pain and sorrow and Kenny trying to attack a women that was a possible danger to him and his group? Lilly was out of her mind at this moment, she lost it. Kenny on the other hand never stoped fighting and believing that there is still hope left in this world. That there is still something in this world, that is worth fighting for!

Kenny's 'stache AND beard (let's not forget that luxurious mane of a beard) could kick Carver's 'stache's a** ANY day of week. If Carver wants to kill Kenny, he'll have to remove the 'stache and beard. Kenny is the Samson* of The Walking Dead Game.
*For those who don't know, Samson is a famous Old Testament biblical character who was incredibly strong, but his strength was tied to his hair. Once his hair was cut, he had no more power.
I have a theory, maybe people get confused because of his godlike Mustache. We learned in the past that a godlike Mustache is a symbol of loyality and safety. But in that case that might not be the truth!
I'm not one of these people, personally. Carver is on my profile image because I like the look of it. I'll be the devil's advocate here for … moresome of the points you made.
He wasn't planning on killing anybody, he retaliated for Johnny's death. Had Kenny surrendered, they all would've been alive. There's another thing with Alvin, he killed a man named George "because [Alvin] didn't like [Carver]", so there is some justificiation for it.
You can avoid getting Clem gut-punched. While I can't exactly justify his actions here, this isn't a necessary outcome.
As of people that adore him, well, I don't know. U mad bros?
I don't know why you think he raped Rebecca. I don't get that vibe. I think if that were the case, she wouldn't have feared telling Alvin. She was hiding the baby's true father out of guilt it seemed. I think she could have had sex with him in order to get something out of it, but I don't see where you get the rape theory.

I think Carver has the potential to be more interesting than one-dimensional psychos like the Governor, but I assume we'll be breathing a sigh of relief when he's dead.
If you surrender to him, when he is about to shoot Alvin you can run at him to try to stop him and he punches Clem in the gut and takes her as a shield to get Kenny to stop shooting.
'Kenny's weapon released a bullet' why can't you just say Kenny fired? He still made the decision to do it.

He was trying to save more of his own men's lives I mean, and take as many people alive as he thought he could without endangering his current resources (mainy for pragmatic reasons though, but maybe some twisted moral/ethical reasons as well). I'm not saying that what Carver did was good or even effective (Kenny only voluntarily surrenders if he grabs Sarita or Clem), I just meant that part of his reasoning was to end the stand-off (thus losing less men and killing less opponents) through terror tactics. Remember that he thought Luke was out there as well, making the only other way of taking out two hidden marksmen would be to try to get out there and shoot them. (remember that Carver is certain that he is right and that he needs to win) This would be foolhardy at best. Considering its just Carver and two troops by this point. Also remember that Carver probably thinks that without his personal leadership, his community would be doomed. Carver does seem to be a tiny bit of a 'deluded savior' as well as his main character trait of being a power hungry (if effective) dictator.
To Clarify, I'm fairly sure that losing troops is simply annoying to Carver, rather than being upsetting. Maybe we will see a bit of both i the future, but we haven't seen Carver show any remorse or genuine morality yet (Even Nate doesn't betray people, and I would at least hope that he wouldn't kill kids), though I do hope we get to see a bit. What he said to Alvin about Alvin killing that other guy might hint to it.
I think Carver has the potential to be more interesting than one-dimensional psychos like the Governor, but I assume we'll be breathing a sigh of relief when he's dead.
Anybody else get 'stuck in the middle with you' in their heads at the torture scene? On my second playthrough I was getting major reservoir dogs flashbacks from it.
I just want to know what it is that Clem has managed to get involved in. Carver never answered any of my questions that would have given pe… morertinent information (why shouldn't I trust the cabin crew? what is he after? stuff like that). Of course, the cabin crew is just as guilty. No matter how many times I asked, they have yet to give a clear answer. They either ask me to trust them, or brush it off for someone else to explain. Both sides are shady if you ask me. Personally, when the crew went north, I would have preferred Clem headed west or something for a few days. Just drop the whole mess entirely, as neither side seems to trust her.
Some people like Carver because he has been decidedly fair with his actions. Think about if you were in this situation, Firstly he didn't rape Rebecca they had consensual relations which led to her becoming pregnant. He wants to take care of his child and is willing to do anything for it, kinda how lee was traveling all the way into the city to find Clem. Different situation but some concept. His methods may be extreme but understandable from an objective point of view
The comic governor is about as one dimensional as you can get. The novels barely added any depth to him. And even then, it wasn't depth, it was more like a sheet of paper being flipped where one side said ''weakling'' and the other ''sadist psycho written by a man who has no concept of how 'evil' characters work''.
But according to this logic, Kenny's godlike Mustache is only at its second evolution yet, Stachetexo...i my gawd, can you even imagine the endless strenght and power of its final evolution!?

Congratulations! Your KENNY'S MOUSTACHE has evolved into KENNY'S BADASS BEARD!
What gives him the right to rob free people of their home? What justification has he to just come along, kidnap a bunch of people and force … morethem to live in his community? Even if the cabin group wronged him in the past, that doesn't mean he can hold them prisoner or something.
But according to this logic, Kenny's godlike Mustache is only at its second evolution yet, Stachetexo...i my gawd, can you even imagine the endless strenght and power of its final evolution!?
We still don't know everything about him, this discussion would be best held after ep 3 is released.
He's willing to travel days just to forcibly kidnap the pregnant woman he has an obsession with, and presumably raped.
Nothing to suggest that so far.... He just wants to get his child and try to take care of him in the best way possible. As @X3Holy3 said, it's pretty much like how Lee searched the whole city for Clem and died in the process. Different methods but same goals.
He's killed members of your group and doesn't even feel any shame in it. Let's not forget him gut punching Clem.
Again, it's justified, as crazy as that sounds.... The only reason why he shot Walter was because Kenny killed Johnny, you make it sound like he killed him simply because he felt like it, there's a difference....
Kenny is not a patron saint as you're trying to make him out to be. Lilly just had a surge of anger - Carley had always been a bitch to her. Doug was an accident and she was right about Ben.

Kenny made some mistakes aswell. (letting Shawn die at hershels farm for example...)
The difference between Kenny and Lilly is, that Kenny knows that he made mistakes and he feels guilty for it. Lilly on the other hand was trying to deny the obvious fact, that she killed a innocent person.
Something many people on this forum seem to forget aswell is the fact that Lee also made mistakes and wasn't a perfect person. People might have played him as a loyal and friendly leader, that does anything to protect the people he cares about...but that doesn't change the fact that Lee is a murderer and was on his way to prison, before the apocolypse started. But in my opinion, that's what makes this game so special and interesting to play, nobody is perfect, in the world of The Walking Dead.
Actually, nobody knew whether or not Lilly had killed an innocent person, including herself, so she wasn't denying the obvious. Carley could very well have been the culprit, and Lilly strongly believed that she was. However, even though Carley's innocence makes it worse, it's not really about the innocence of the victims. It's about Lilly losing it and making a call she had no business making. We saw how horrified she was at killing Doug. I'm sure if she later learned that Carley was innocent, she'd be guilty about that too. But she never knowingly tried to justify the murder of an innocent.
The problem with trying to hold up Kenny over Lilly is that the story is not exactly unbiased between the two of them. Once Lilly is out of the picture, shortly after her worst moment, we keep going with Kenny and learn more about him. We're expected to sympathize with him as the story goes on, but never get a chance with Lilly. So yeah, Kenny did feel bad about it, but we can't say Lilly doesn't feel bad about her own mistakes considering we never actually spoke to her about them. Just something to keep in mind.

Carver is an amazingly well written antagonist. Some of his lines are amazingly executed (no pun intended) by Michael Madsen.

Are you being serious? Who adores Carver?????
Anybody else get 'stuck in the middle with you' in their heads at the torture scene? On my second playthrough I was getting major reservoir dogs flashbacks from it.
Carver just wanted to goad Clem into spilling something. Once you ask "why shouldn't I trust them?" you tell him everything he needs to know.
I agree with every single reason except the Chess one.

Yes you are right, you made some good points here!
But still, the things Kenny and Lilly did aren't compareable and i would choose Kenny over Lilly. Any day, any time!
