Lee because he brings some comic relief now and then, overall he is just a nicer person without being too much of an asshole, even the asshole choices you make troughout the game isnt too extreme (except for the first meetin with Vernon haha)
Rick for sure. Lee was cool, but rick in my opinion has done more and is better story told character than Lee. Lee has some awesome moments, but all in all Rick Grimes is the man.
In the series he can´t. In the comics, Rick has done WAY more stuff than Lee with one hand only. But that´s probably because of the number of issues that have been published, being him the main character.

Rick (series) vs Lee, winner is Lee, no doubt.

Also if in Season 1 you cut Lee's hand in the end Clementine before she shot she aimed right at the last second (if you don't believe me watch that part carefully), so she didn't kill Lee.

How can you compare a character that is basically you, the player, to a fully fleshed out one? It would be better to compare two playable characters or two non playable characters.
Lee Everett is the best between the two of them. He was able to survive a horrible amputation, possible infection, through a horde of walkers with nothing but a worn butcher knife and the blood of those he's slain, and take a bullet to the chest before choking a slightly unstable man to death... one-handed, all to rescue a girl that was under his care. Anyone who tried to get in between them-anyone- was gonna wind up dead. Look at the Stranger as proof.

It isn't going to happen no matter how much people want it to. If Lee survived then it makes the ending of episode 5 of S1 meaningless. Also season 1 was about Lee's redemption for his mistakes and him dying to protect Clem is a part of that redemption.
