i Updtated my BIOS today, and the game doesnt work, is there something else to do?

    DjNDB posted: »

The only other thing that has worked for some people is updating the BIOS. You can get the latest BIOS for your system on the DELL support page. While you're at it, you should update your drivers too.

Have you tried if disconnecting now works again?
Did you also update your audio and video drivers?

I think that's all I can do for you. Other than TTG releasing a patch (which I think is unlikely at this point) I don't know what else could help.

Please try if the game works if you disconnect from the internet. Make sure all Network adapters are disabled.

If it's a notebook, probably not. If it's a desktop PC, probably yes.

Please check the properties of the Steam.exe, and the games .exe files, and disable any compatibility mode and "run as admin" settings.
Sometimes compatibility mode is checked, but is grayed out. Then you have to click on "Change settings for all users" at the bottom to disable the checkbox.
Afterwards try if the game works.

If the method mentioned above didn't work, you can try disabling it in the registry. Then restart the computer and try running the game again.

I am not sure what causes it. It could be a problem with the rather old graphics chip.

You can try replacing the games prefs.prop in
    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
with the one in this .zip archive.
It has low graphics settings in windowed mode.

You can also try creating a new Windows user account with only characters from a-z and try playing there.

Sadly I don't have any new Ideas. You could try redownloading and reinstalling, but I am not sure if that can help.

Message=Application popup: WalkingDead2.exe - System Error : The program can't start because d3dx9_41.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I apologize, it seems you have uploaded the support tool itself. Please follow the instructions in the link above and download the tool and Run the tool on your computer. It will then output a .zip file that you will then upload to Sendspace.com, and copy and paste the download link to that file in a reply to this thread.

I apologize for the inconvenience. After looking over your support tool information, below are a few possible solutions:

    1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card and your computer's BIOS

    2) Restart your system

    3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.

    4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)

    5) Run the game as admin

    6) Run the game in compatibility mode (We recommend Windows 98/ME)

    7) Reinstall the game

    8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

I apologize for any difficulties this has caused. After looking over your Support Tool file, it seems your DxDiag information did not upload completely. If possible, can you please provide full system specifications for your computer?

Please send us your DXDiag if you’re using PC. (To send a DXDiag, click the Start menu, click Run, and then type in DXDiag and press enter. After it loads, click Save All Information and save the file where you’ll be able to easily find it. Then upload the file to Sendspace.com as you did with the support tool file, and copy and paste the download link in a reply to this thread. I will then be able to assist you further.

Thank you for the extra information. If you can, please try unplugging all USB devices other than keyboard/mouse from your computer, and plug in headphones to the audio out jack. (This includes any speakers you may have plugged in.)

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately I do not see any reason why the game is not running for you. Everything seems like it is set up correctly. I suggest uninstall and reinstall the game cleanly, and see if you are then able to run it successfully.

I apologize for the inconvenience. After looking over your Support Tool information, it seems your computer's graphics card is below the minimum system requirements to run the game successfully. Where we require a minimum of 512mb of dedicated memory, your current card is only running at 128mb of dedicated memory. I recommend either updating the drivers of your current graphics card and see if you are then able to play the game, or requesting a refund. My apologies for any difficulties this causes you.
