Opinions on Sarah?

I noticed that a lot of people seem to have strong feelings of being annoyed by/disliking Sarah. We all have different opinions, of course, but I see no real reason to not like her. She may be a little annoying, but in the end, she's just a sheltered kid, and she hasn't done any real harm to anyone yet. She just wants to be Clem's friend, and it's a little sad to me. I even feel like I need to protect her, lol. Then again, I may just be a pushover and feel the need to feel sorry for everyone. So what are your thoughts?

  • I like her and think she is cool and brings out the innocence in clem she is annoying sometimes and immature but I think that mostly has to do with Carlos being overprotective

  • I think teaching Sarah how to use a gun is going to useful on future episodes.

  • I think That Sarah is mentally Ill.

I agree; I can't really figure out what's wrong with her, but yeah. Just gives me all the more reason to feel kind of bad for her, though. I 'unno. xD

I think That Sarah is mentally Ill.

  • Nice, well meaning kid, though her mental state may prove difficult in future.

I do think her dangerous in an absentminded way, however. I mean look at her with the gun. GODDAMNIT SARAH, IT'S NOT A TOY.

Dat edit though. But seriously was he doing what I think he was?

  • I'm just like you. I tried to save Larry.

  • You would fit in well at Crawford.

I really need to see what she's like after the whole Carver thing to make a proper call on what I think of her.

Right now, I don't really find any reason to like or dislike her. Despite being on screen a lot, she doesn't really have much depth in terms of characterization. She's just a dumb kid who doesn't know anything about what's going on.

She hasn't had to make tough decisions, she hasn't had to sacrifice anything of her own, she hasn't dealt with what it means to live in the world she lives in. She's just kind of...there.

  • Honestly I think I feel exactly like clem, I feel a bit irritated and annoyed by her but at the same time there is something oddly refreshing about her optimism with all the depression around her. Also at least she's trying...

Its not like Duck who was completely oblivious to everything or Becca who was just a wannabe badass.

  • Same. Then I was sad because Kenny was mad at me. It seems like the right decision! D:

I'm just like you. I tried to save Larry.

  • I think she's sheltered and she may also have asthma, but I don't think she has any actual mental illness. =/

She can be annoying at times, but she also seems to be a very nice, kind person and clearly she wants to be helpful. I don't think she's as helpless as Carlos says she is. She wants to learn how to use a gun. She is able to tell her dad went out into danger and still manages to keep herself calm after sitting down for a moment, granted that was a bit strange in my opinion.

  • I kinda hope we'll get to spend more time with her. I'd like to know what's really going on with her. But I don't think that's going to happen until she gets separated from Carlos.

The only reason I tried to save Larry was because Clementine was right there. I didn't want her to see me help smash some dude's head in... that and if Larry was still alive and I was able to save him, I wanted to be able to punch him in the face and not feel bad about it.

Same. Then I was sad because Kenny was mad at me. It seems like the right decision!

  • I don't like saying it but I can't see sarah making it to the end,

  • At first I just thought she was odd but I didn't hate her or anything. But then she pointed a gun at Clem's face and well now,I find her extremely stupid. Sheltered or not you do not point a gun at someones face.

  • A lot of people are wondering what if Clem goes nuts but what I am wondering is what if Sarah goes nuts.

  • I think that would be the more likely case. I think Clem is pretty strong with everything she has seen and been through. But Sarah doesn't really understand . everything that has happened I don't even think she has ever even seen a walker.

  • I have mixed feelings about Sarah. She annoys me because she is sheltered and naive but because of those reasons I feel responsible for her and sad for her. Her dad gets on my nerve for keeping her in the dark and he needs to realize he can hide the truth. That would be best way to help her.

  • I don't think Clem will because she's been through this, I mean she's used to the situation, the lost and pain. I think she's become numb to it or she is getting numb from everything that going on, I mean she might go nuts but I think Sarah will most likely be the one

  • Personally, I think she is like Clementine pre-badassary (Not a word, I know, roll with it ;D) She's innocent, but she knows what's going on in the world. She's being sheltered by her Dad who wants to keep her safe which is fair enough, similar to Lee with Clem from episodes 1-half way through 3. Her having asthma and giving herself panic attacks obviously doesn't help.

  • Other than the facts that she creeped me a little bit when I first met her and I sincerely hope she grows a decent pair in the next few episodes, I feel like protecting her because she's so young and innocent. And she's not retarded or crazy like some people have been saying, she's just too sheltered and emotionally weak.

  • This guy gets it.

  • I think a lot of people don't like children in TWD because they aren't like Clem, not all children can be as likeable as her. But at least they aren't the kids in Skyrim.

  • Ugh. I love Skyrim, But the children in that game were goddamn annoying.

  • Just thought to put it here :)

  • I don't dislike her, but I definitely have the feeling Sarah will get herself or someone else killed. She's a time bomb, and I hope Clem's not too close when she goes off in whatever way.

  • Her innocent or her mind is too immature, considering her age. Though it's her father's fault. But I get the feeling that she'll get herself or other people killed, so I don't feel good.

Judging from his name, he's not saying it because she's a child. Sarah is useless because she's panic-attack prone and has had no survival skills imparted to her because of her overbearing father despite being three years into the apocalypse. In any given survival situation she would be pretty much useless, as we've seen. The only half-competent thing she's done is sneaking up to the room when Carver came.

You would fit in well at Crawford.

  • What I meant was he disliked her because she's useless and can't pull her own weight.

  • She seems nice and just wants a friend, so I like her.

    'Nuff said.

  • She'll kill Carlos if you didn't put the angel on the tree.

  • She'll stay in Carver's camp if you didn't pinky swear.

  • It's pretty clear to me she either has panic attacks or some kind of anxiety. I don't think there's anything super wrong with her beyond that. She hasn't done anything too dumb yet (who could have foreseen the picture thing?) so...

  • Really? When? Once I played episode 2 I put the star on the tree but it didn't seem to cause any different. How / why does she kill her father?
