The TWD Season 1 episodes released much more quickly than present series. Then again, even that was a faaaar cry from all of Telltale's older series. We're talking four to six weeks between episodes here, actual monthly releases. Telltale expected to keep that schedule for Season 1, they somehow couldn't. Then they expected to keep that schedule for Season 2 with TWaU still in the works - and of course they couldn't do that as well.

The schedule right now needs a whole lot of patience. That's the central thing Telltale has got to repair, stat. The only solution I see is to postpone either Borderlands or Game of Thrones until 2015 instead of attempting simultaneous releases yet again at year's end. I'm sad to say, they're just not ready for that yet. These simultaneous releases were always Telltale's goal though, and it's very necessary that they attempt it again in the future - after all, with their present infinite franchise options, it's possibly either that or never a Season 3 of TWD.

Bro, were you around for Season 1 ? ? Same exact problem throughout the entire season. If I do recall, Episode 5 was actually pretty timely but from 2 to 3 and then 3 to 4 it was the same exact thing. So no, we won't be golden.

  • actually i think that didnt mean anything...i don trust telltale anymore

What is this I see, Telltale? AusVGClassifications ‏@AusVGClass 32m THE WOLF AMONG US - EPISODE 4: IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING, Rating: MA15+, Author: TELLTALE GAMES, Publisher: TELLTALE GAMES Hmm, They're working fast. :)

  • Telltale, I have a fantastic concept for you to consider!

Its simply amazing, its an industry secret so hold on tight...

Why don't you, get ready... here it comes... make the complete game start to finish, then release it in monthly installments on time with no delays.

    I know, hold the applause.

Now that opens a really big can of worms. If episodes aren't produced one by one, but only arbitrarily held back, we'd more or less have the same situation as with Electronic Arts' day one DLCs: customers would feel as if parts of the game were artificially removed to stretch the hype with the experience. Which would be quantifiably true even!

Personally, I have never warmed to the episodic concept. It has worked out marvellously once or twice during the runs of ToMI and some of the S&M Seasons, but, in my opinion, never since. Yet protesting it right now is probably rather senseless, because the industry is moving in exactly that direction, EVERYWHERE. Popular narrative games are now getting released chapter by chapter on Steam Early Access, which is nothing but episodic gaming in a nutshell with a bit of beta testing thrown into the mix. This is hailed and advertised as THE thing that makes creator owned IPs and fan funded games possible.

I can try to stem the tide by never purchasing an Early Access game, but it's totally irrelevant to the gaming industry, which reaches those shores unhindered. Episodic gaming with series in active development is now coming in force. We can like it or not.

  • You forgot that this is an episodic game, which means, THE EPISODES ARE MADE AFTER THE LAST ONE IS DONE.

Every new episode is being made after the last one is done. So let's assume that telltale is developing one episode every 2 months

    2 + 2 + 2+ 2+ 2+ = 10 months of developing

now let's assume they would release finished game as monthly installments = 5 months.

To complete season 2 you would wait 1 year and 3 months. Neat, huh?

I can't see that working as Telltale take player feedback from players and implement that into the game to make improvements. When they saw peoples reactions to Clementine witnessing Lee kill Danny in season 1 they made sure to put Clem in the scene to influence player decisions, they also take feedback from play testers. In S1E4 the majority of play testers saved Ben in Crawford so they added the scene where he ran away from Clem when the walkers where attacking to try and make it a 50/50 split on whether or not players saved Ben or let him drop.

It is still very early in the morning for Telltale Games. Their job hours for announcements usually start between 1-3 pm EST. I wouldn't worry, they will probably give us something today. It is a Tuesday after all. Find something to keep you busy until later. :)

The consumer has the power, certainly. But the consumer is buying whatever is thrown his way.

The proof is readily available: In successful Kickstarter developers who can't work on a budget or schedule, copy protect their games and let backers pay extra to betatest them; in Steam's monopoly over the PC games market generally and in Early Access' absolute success especially; in Electronic Arts' unhindered rise to power through its long history of imperialist studio acquisition, utter greed and routine customer deception.

Recently, it was all too obvious that Microsoft did NOT change their DRM/resale plans for Xbox One because of the months long, passionate, loud and clear fanbase outcry - as the pre orders they received spoke a very different, soothing language to them. They had to be trolled dead by their competitor before they chose to rethink their strategy.

The consumer's power of change remains unused. I do know where the consumer's money goes, though. :(

I'm a troll and A LOT of people who agrees with me who are not trolls. I'm different from the other trolls. And allow me to clarify how you are one.

    1. You kept on saying before it was going to be May 1th when others said May 6th, and now that's out of the window you're saying it wont be.
    2. Pestering people constantly about how right you are all the time and judging people every FUCKING time.
3.Insulting the community as a bunch of idiot fans (remember that Justin Bieber video you posted when comparing the community and Telltale?).
    4. Trying to force people into thinking it's not coming into a theorized release date. They have their right to think.
    5. Bringing people down and making yourself look all high and mighty.

Now I'm gonna ask you. "Do you get the trend?"

Troll? lol its a shame the internet has turned into a place where every single person who doesn't agree with you is a "troll". . .if anythin
