20 walking dead plot holes/minor ones. Maybe more.

I advice people who don't want their suspension of belief destroyed to leave, NOW!

1. Clem has nothing in her bag.

2. In episode 2, we see Clementine drop Luke's machete on the ground and never picks it up again. He seems to still have it.

3. In starved for help when you push the tractor. Before there were no zombies and now they managed to teleport there, somehow.

4. Clementine can pull a fully grown man.

5. Walker goes after Clem, but she is wearing zombie guts.

6. Lee somehow knows which room Clementine was in, No time left.

7. Sarita doesn't know how to switch off the turbione. God knows, how long she stayed in the lodge.

8. In episode 5, How the fuck did Clementine get out of the closet?

9. The rest of Hershells don't seem to come out when their brother is getting killed.

10. How the f*ck did Clementine lock her self up in the shed, in episode 4?

11. How many days was Lee knocked out again?

12. Again episode 4, If you leave Clementine behind. Somehow, a zombie manages to get in and the group doesn't seem worried about that.

13. No time left, they find weapons. But didn't they look every before and found nothing. Even Molly looked around and found nothing.

14. Stranger's car can drive faster then a train. People say that he knew before that they were going to Savannah. But in episode 3 if you ask Clem if she wants to leave. She says ''where are we going''. Also adding that the Stranger would probably not have enough gas to go that far. Trust me, I know the distance.

15. Kenny hits Walker in the middle of the road, while theres light infront of him.

16. Katjaa kills herself, while her son is watching. That is totally out of character considering how she was acting before.

17. Molly can teleport.

18. Lets see what Lee puts in his back pocket:
clementine's hat.
Shovel.
A flashlight.
Batteries.
A few chocolates
An axe.
Hilda.
A gun.
Machete.

19. How did Kenny know Clementine's Walkie Talkie is broken?

20. Clementine's parents managed stick together, even as walkers. Love conquers all I guess.

21. Wouldn't have noticed if Walkers were coming by before he got run over by duck.

Don't take this seriously guys. Just thought I could share, some of my knowledge with all of you. I could keep going if you want.

  • Number 6: Lee hears a noise while walking in the hallway

  • 4.: clem is to badass for him
  • 18. Lee climbs a ladder with a BLOWTORCH in his pocket... OK then...

#18 well it does seem unrealistic but it happens in most games GTA,MGS probably some others.
  • 19: Kenny was there when Lee found out.
  • 8: The rope was not tight enough
  • 13: They find them in the shed after Clementine opened the shed. Molly didn't know where Clem was because she didn't look for weapons in the shed.
  • They didn't bother to use it in Crawford.

16: Katjaa killed herself because she couldn't handle that her son was about to die. How is that out of character for Katjaa?
  • Throughout the series Katjaa has been shown to be the most rational and no signs of suicidal thoughts. ''I Love our son more then life itself'' isn't suicidal.

  • I would have believed that if he went and listened to each room. But somehow, he knew which room to listen to.

Number 6: Lee hears a noise while walking in the hallway

  • It still doesn't make sense that a 9 year old can drag a fully grown 37 year old man.

4.: clem is to badass for him

  • exactly. she loves her son more than life.and her son is dead, so she loves her son more, why live any longer?

  • Some of the points are very good, why the dislikes? TWD story is well crafted but nothing is perfect. Some of them can be easily explained like the Stranger, he only needed to know they are on the train to figure out where they are going if he knows where the train goes. Others like Clems parents still being at the hotel is a pretty big one, they should have made them like that bicycle walker in tv show with no legs so they couldn't wounder off.

You have some petty solid arguments, but I have one that will blow yours out of the metaphorical water....

    wait for it

    ITS A GAME!
Game logic should not be applied to real life logic, but that wont stop me and everyone else from doing it XD
  • So the moment Lee comes, she knows its not tight. And why would the Stranger be so dumb to not tighten the rope?

She didn't know it wasn't tight.

    In response to Thread creator.

    1. Maybe Walter secretly took everything out to keep for himself XD

    2. Off Camera, Luke went all the way back to go get it.

    3. I have no explanation for this.

    4. Nah, Omid and Christa quickly helped her bring him in the store, then left so they could pull a prank on Lee.

    5. When was this? Episode 5 or In Harm's Way? They never went after her in Episode 5, but if you're talking about the trailer for In Harm's Way, then it's probably Sarah's fault. She fucked up and got too paranoid as always -_-

    6. Possible "Purgatory Theory"

    7. Because she isn't too smart and Kenny just has poor choice in women.

    8. Plot Twist: Clementine is a professional lock picker and she used Lilly's hair thingies to pick the lock from the inside.

    9. They were sleeping.

    10. She crawled through the vent on the side (You can examine it when searching for her and you'll notice it's open)

    11. When? He was only knocked out for a few seconds when Larry punched him in Episode 1, he was probably only knocked out for like half an hour in Starved For Help after Danny hit him with the rifle. In Episode 5 after getting his arm cut off, he probably got knocked out for a few hours.

    12. Mainly Christa, all she cared about was Omid and didn't even think about Clem, fucking Christa -_-

    13. When was this? YOU AREN'T BEING FUCKING SPECIFIC ENOUGH! Maybe you're referring to them finding the tools in the shed. I don't know.

    14. Stranger probably found gas on the way there.

    15. He probably looked in another direction right before hitting it, or was just resting his eyes.

    16. I don't think it was out of character, plus she needed to go anyways.

    17. She's a parkour specialist. Like maybe she took unnecessary routes to get to certain places, like instead of simply going up stairs to search, she does a back flip out the window, crawls on the side of the house and gets in through the second floor window without anybody noticing.

    18. Lee actually has magic pockets. If you were to reach inside, you will notice that you will never reach the end of the pockets, even with a 12 foot long pole. His pockets can carry infinite items and the item he needs at the moment will magically be the first item he takes out every time.

    19. Maybe Lee told him off camera.

    20. Plot Twist: They aren't walkers, they were just tired of Clem and wanted to be left alone.

    21. Duck probably distracted him long enough for his whole plan to unfold perfectly.

Maybe he has like a lot of cans of gas inside the truck. Its not like money is the issue, I would stuck up in apocalypse if I travel a lot. There are probably some gas stations on the way as well I would imagine.

  • I don't consider TWD or TWAU a game, its an interactive story. Still some of those minor flaws are completely forgivable if you compare them to big movies full of glaring plotholes that get great reviews and even Oscar nominations. No peace of artwork is perfect but damn TTG comes really close.

  • There is one big plothole in season 1 that nobody seems to address, how did Clem gets to Lee and Kenny when they meet Molly at the dock. How did she know where the dock is, she is just a child and could easily get lost, why didn't anyone stop her or watched after her and how did she avoided all the walkers, they pretty much stormed the place in just few minutes when Kenny shot the gun so they where not far away. There may be some explanations possible but in general it was just that the plot demanded it to happen and sometimes you have to live with that.
  • Yeah, that one is true.

Is that actually true for number 10?

  • He also thinks Clem wouldn't hurt a fly, and has his wife's zombified head in a bowling bag which he talks to. This guy is not exactly on the level, but honestly I think it was more of what was stated above: Clem hears Lee, and feels safe enough to escape.

  • Well, Kenny, Lee, and Clem have been in the motor inn for 3 months.

''I thought that f*cking thing was broken''. How does he know that?

  • I'll focus on the ones that aren't extremely minor or are just not plot holes.

    > 3. In starved for help when you push the tractor. Before there were no zombies and now they managed to teleport there, somehow.

Yeah, this is one of the bigger ones, I think. The implication seems to be that those zombies are the same ones they pushed off the fence, despite looking nothing like them.

    > 4. Clementine can pull a fully grown man.

Pretty far-fetched, which goes for a lot of the writing in episode 5. That said, adrenaline can do some crazy shit to you.

    > 5. Walker goes after Clem, but she is wearing zombie guts.

The guts hide the scent, but the walker had already seen that Lee and Clementine were not walkers since they weren't moving like them, had broken the glass, and were talking. That's the whole reason you're supposed to move slow and not make a sound when you're moving among a crowd of them camouflaged. They'll figure it out and swarm you if you make it clear you're not one of them.

    > 6. Lee somehow knows which room Clementine was in, No time left.

No, he heard a sound and it directed him towards that door. It's very light, you gotta keep an ear out for it.

    > 7. Sarita doesn't know how to switch off the turbione. God knows, how long she stayed in the lodge.

Well, that scene was dumb for a variety of reasons, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that she's just never had to go out there and do it. Extremely unlikely, sure, but remember that Kenny didn't even let her carry a damn box. Maybe going out to shut the turbine off was one of those "I got it" things.

    > 8. In episode 5, How the fuck did Clementine get out of the closet?

    No idea.

    > 9. The rest of Hershells don't seem to come out when their brother is getting killed.

I always chalked this up to Hershel telling everyone to stay inside off-screen when he went in to get his gun.

    > 10. How the f*ck did Clementine lock her self up in the shed, in episode 4?

She didn't. She got in through the little vent in the side, and then decided to try and bust open the door rather than crawl back out. Why? ...No idea.

    > 11. How many days was Lee knocked out again?

One, maybe two days. Not sure, but I don't know why this would be an inconsistency. I'm guessing you're wondering why everything was so screwed up when he woke up, and I would say that there was already craziness breaking out before the crash, as we saw from the choppers and SWAT trucks heading for Atlanta. Add another day or two and serious shit is going down.

    > 12. Again episode 4, If you leave Clementine behind. Somehow, a zombie manages to get in and the group doesn't seem worried about that.

Yeah, that was pretty weird. You'd think somebody would ask how it got in, or start checking for weak points in the house. The only possibility is that it got in through a window, but the windows seem to finally break during the attack in episode 5, so that's unlikely.

    > 13. No time left, they find weapons. But didn't they look every before and found nothing. Even Molly looked around and found nothing.

Not sure what weapons you're talking about. Like the cleaver? Molly actually opened the drawer containing it right when Lee got her attention and she closed it up. Kind of an interesting nod to it being there. However, maybe they just didn't consider immediately important seeing as they still had guns and ammo.

    > 14. Stranger's car can drive faster then a train. People say that he knew before that they were going to Savannah. But in episode 3 if you ask Clem if she wants to leave. She says ''where are we going''. Also adding that the Stranger would probably not have enough gas to go that far. Trust me, I know the distance.

Well, Kenny's plan to head for water was pretty well known at that point, and Savannah was in the direction they were heading. Also, Clementine's parents were there, so the Stranger probably deduced that the group would probably be heading there to kill two birds with one stone. My question is, how well would the walkie talkies they were using really work given the distance?

    > 15. Kenny hits Walker in the middle of the road, while theres light infront of him.

Maybe looking at Duck and Katjaa in worry, knowing that his son is bitten.

    > 16. Katjaa kills herself, while her son is watching. That is totally out of character considering how she was acting before.

Not really. She'd been growing steadily more and more depressed throughout the episode, and losing Duck was just the final nail. Also keep in mind that suicides in real life tend to be a total shock to those that knew the person. "They didn't seem like someone who would do something like that" is what you hear a lot. We can't know somebody's thoughts, and she had very good reason to feel like there was no hope and no point in going on anymore.

    > 19. How did Kenny know Clementine's Walkie Talkie is broken?

I'm sure sometime in the three months that passed, Lee had to mention in passing that Clementine's walkie talkie broke, seeing as she was so saddened by it.

Here are some that should have been mentioned:

    1. Kenny staying with Ben despite his speech before about never committing suicide, when the only thing that could have resulted from that action was suicide. Yes, I know he survived, which is still stupid in its own right, but his reasoning makes no sense when you tell him Katjaa wouldn't want this. He says either he saves Ben or he gets to see her again, even though he already knew Ben was doomed. The *only* thing to believe in that case is that he was flat out lying when he made that anti-suicide speech, which I wouldn't really have had a problem with (given how, like I said, suicide victims aren't always forthcoming or obvious about their intentions), if that had turned out to be his death. But no, they brought him back, and we're back to where we started.

I suppose one can say that he intended to die in that alleyway, but miraculously managed to survive and formed a sort of epiphany during or after to keep staying alive, but I think that's just starting to put way too much thought into something that clearly didn't have much thought put into it.

    2. The blowtorch in the station. Why is it there, besides convenience for the plot? No one seems to have an answer for this one.

    3. Vernon stealing the boat and abandoning Clem despite making a big show of taking Clem back with him to his people, which he said *after* he saw the herd heading their way, so it's not like the herd scared him into making a rash decision.

    4. Vernon and the cancer patients getting the boat out of the shed and down to the water without an automobile. I have to imagine it's not that easy to push boats around like that.

    5. Lee somehow getting back to the school after taking the passcode from Logan despite there being no way for him to get back. Though I suppose he could scaled the fence and suffered a few unseen cuts from the barbed wire.
