Do I? Unlike you, I don't go that far with a flawed video game character. Ohhh but you're so mature.
Aww. I was just trying to correct you but thanks for apologizing, hon.
Did you miss the part where I'm laying out the reasons why Kenny is the hypocrite that is getting singled out? Derp question. You clearly di… mored.
I find it hilarious how you went from redirecting the criticism to other characters, to redirecting the criticism to me. Talk about not actually having a counter argument.
Nope, because I like characters that aren't boring. Kenny is very predictable, this entire season has been wasted potential for Kenny. I'll spare you from each little example, because I'd be typing all day. But he's the epitome of "survival dude who is in perpetual pain" boring character trope. Actually, he is well written in the sense that he constantly aggs my nerves whenever he's on the screen.
And personally, I don't like him... at all. However, I didn't really "like" Joel either. But just like really good characters, Joel was pretty consistent in his character development throughout the game, and was genuinely interesting.
I agree that he is a total self-obsessed hypocrite and always has been. I just want to give him one minute of understanding. I can't imagine having to put down my son like with Duck so I give him that, but that's all.
Not really. I posted the images because they were related to what I was saying. It's not like I went out of my way to do so. "Also, have some images mocking Luke because I don't like him."
Agenda, huh? I also mentioned that Lee and Clementine can both hypocritical at times. I hate them too? You seem to know me pretty well so I expect the correct answer.
Do you get that I've been arguing it's *fair *to consider Kenny worse than the other supporting cast? Do you get in order to support this, I… more have to give reasons. The reasons I gave were examples of Kenny's bad behavior.
Perhaps you rather I approached this by making up excuses for Luke's behavior? Because you rather spend time ragging on Luke? I notice you took the effort to post image macros against Luke and always trying to redirect the ire towards Luke. Maybe I'm not the one with the agenda.
Predictable? What else do you want him to be? Should his character traits be all over the map and constantly changing? That isn't realistic to how people are in reality, and is actually poor writing in of itself.

But as we learned from Episode 4 of of S1, If you wait, cutting your limb off will do absolutely nothing.
It was a few hour's walk from Carver's base and the herd to Parker's run. Lee had about that same amount of time to get from the Mansion where he was bit to Vernon's base where he cut it off as well.
Clem acting to cut it would have given you the off chance she may survive.
Also Being stuck in the Meat locker with larry is dangerous but so is being in a herd full of Zombies?
Atleast you'll see larry. They were surrounded on all sides by walkers so ...? Kenny murdering Larry was completely premeditated and he knew full well it would have Killed Larry period.
Cutting off Sarita's arm, the chance was highly unlikely but she had at least the chance not to get infected further.
Firstly, Kenny was trapped with Larry so he had all the right to kill him in order to save everyone inside. However, Kenny is an adult and c… morean take responsibility for his actions.
Secondly, accept it or not, Clementine is a fucking kid that has no right to cut someone's arm just because she can! If Sarita died there then Kenny wouldn't blame Clementine for not saving Sarita.
Well, to be honest Belan, I want Kenny to be gone. And no, his character traits shouldn't be "all over the place," but I expect a character that has so much influence over an entire season to be understandable, realistic, grounded, and well paced.
I'll give you an example... How come when Kenny indirectly got Walter and possibly Alvin killed in the ski-lodge, his reaction was basically "fuck dees pepul, I knu its bollsheet guddamneet!" Like, do you have any remorse, any deep seeded thoughts about the futility of life, anything? No? Oh, just gonna keep blaming others, cool.

Sarita was in a herd where you had to act faster and the danger is all around them. Cutting off her arm would have staved off the infection and You also had the character Reggie who had an entire arm cut off but was still alive thanks to Mike.
This isn't an equatable comparison at all. Larry was an IMMEDIATE threat to the group. Sarita obviously was not.
So no, he was not being hypocritical. He was still wrong to say what he did, but it was not hypocritical at all.
You're mention of other characters are just to obfuscate your insidious anti-Luke agenda. But you also kinda hate them a little bit. Just a little bit. You made choo choo noises during the train ride in season one and thought Omid was too good for that amazon, Christa. To certain friends, you described this game as "Pretty okay despite having so many brown people in it." Like me, you kinda giggled when Sarah died but felt really bad about it later.
Not really. I posted the images because they were related to what I was saying. It's not like I went out of my way to do so. "Also, have som… moree images mocking Luke because I don't like him."

What the fuck did I just read? Kenny is one of the most well written character of this game, he is so complex.
Loving or hating him, you got to admit that he is the most important character of this game excluding the 2 protagonists. Kenny and Clementine are the characters that appears the most in this series, they still alive since the first episode of the first season, he is such amazing written and performed as she is.
What does his being Southern ("redneck") have to do with it? Yes, he's a hypocrite, but so are a lot of people in the world of TWD. It's because everyone is in survival mode and just thinking about their own well-being. Selfish people tend to be hypocritical and have double standards.
Will you two shut the hell up? This is exactly why this community is going to shit.
Noone can have a discussion about Kenny without a bunch of fans ganging up on one guy and giving them shit, or it turning into a one vs one playground shitflinging contest.
One of you has your opinion, the other has theirs.
Yes everyone is a hypocrite in the walking dead. Kenny just stands out the most. I even found his reaction in episode 4 completely unrealistic. He learnt NOTHING from season 1 to give a LITTLE KID shit, defaulting to his unlikeable season 1 (episode 3 - 5) personality.

Now calm the fuck down.
But if Sarita made it out of the herd and then subsequently died from her bite wound and infection, you can be damned sure Kenny would be th… moree first (and only) one to say: "Fucking hell Clementine you stupid little kid! You had a hatchet, you know what to do - why the hell didn't you cut of her arm before it was too late"
Sarita dying (at least without Clem chopping her arm off) was a 100% certainty - not so with Larry.

Sorry to butt in, but your conversation has sparked something for me
It's true that I don't like Kenny. He was a decent part of s1, even though I hated him then. He's more annoying in season 2, and I think it's because - whilst he is consistent - he's a stale character. I hope he goes all Carver in e5, because otherwise how much growth or change has there really been for him since the end of s1?
"Hi I'm Kenny" - "Oh shit my family died" - "I'm glad/angry that you did/didn't help" - to me that somewhat sums up both seasons for Kenny.
I wouldn't argue that Kenny is badly written - for me it is most assuredly a case of hating his character cause he's a fucking douche. But I do think he is getting to be somewhat stale.
Imagine if it hadn't been Kenny, but just new char. Would we perhaps be saying "Oh man, Geraldo is soo Kenny 2.0".
Yes, I agree with you that they were surrounded by walkers but don't forget that they were covered with zombie guts, so they should be fine. Also keep in mind that Larry wasn't a normal sized person, he had a real strong and huge body, so someone inside could possibly get injured before they actually reach his head if he turns.
Cutting off someone's arm without permission is just wrong, whether it's gonna save a life or not, espacially when you are just 11 years old girl.
But as we learned from Episode 4 of of S1, If you wait, cutting your limb off will do absolutely nothing.

You're totally entitled to that opinion. I can't really argue with the fact that you personally find his character to be getting stale. It's totally a subjective thing.
What I do have a problem with is people blaming that sort of thing on the writing.

Yeah I'll leave it at that, cause I think we've already quite exhausted this topic
I just hadn't really considered this before reading your discussion (so he clearly isn't growing that stale on me - or I just hadn't notice on account of the hate-fog I see :P)

Wow dude, look we all ply the game, play it differently, and think differently, So please don't lash out. Or at me because I wont respond. You don't puzzle my mind when your Insulting someone , and i cant speak for others when I say that. Hate me and down vote all you want because this is just my opinion on the matter.

And so is Murdering a woman's father who probably Knows more than Kenny about her father's condition/seen and treated her father at his Worst health? Kenny had no right, KATJAA maybe who has atleast minimal Knowledge of First aid but nowhere in Hell should Kenny be excused for murdering a man who he didn't even know was dead. This is also in direct correlation to Katjaa who was desperately treating Ben's friend to his final moments covered in blood to save him, yet Kenny makes some bland assumption that a heart attack from stress is suddenly the end of the line for Larry? People are resuscitated from Drowning and having a heart stop for up to 10 minutes.
Also even covered in zombie guts you can still get bit by a zombie. I don't think A Meat LOCKER is going to bite you if you make alot of noise. Clementine cutting off Sarita's arm is wrong but she is an 11 year old girl who has seen it work. Reggie was proof of that. It was a quick decision and the fault lies the action but it's still a HARD decision to make because of just that reason. It COULD save her life.
You wrong Sarita by taking that Action but kenny has NO RIGHT to tell off Clementine for what she did when Murdering a Sick old man with a salt lick and presumptiously proclaiming he's dead and should Die anyway Just in case. And then he proceeds to be a DICK to Lee if you choose to try and Help Larry and Lilly?
No way. In a sense Clem was even THERE in the meat locker when it happened. She's doing what KENNY taught her to do.But he's suddenly above that. Makes him a hypocrite.
Yes, I agree with you that they were surrounded by walkers but don't forget that they were covered with zombie guts, so they should be fine.… more Also keep in mind that Larry wasn't a normal sized person, he had a real strong and huge body, so someone inside could possibly get injured before they actually reach his head if he turns.

I don't think Kenny would care about being called a hypocrite. It's just a word. Point is he reacts to whatever situation in how he think's is best at that moment. I seriously doubt Kenny considered being a hypocrite before he yelled at Clem. That was just his reaction to losing Sarita. After losing Duck and Kat, we all know Kenny is a bit volitile. That's just how he reacts and deals with the current world. It could literally come back to bite him if he can't learn to control his temper and think rationally rather than emotionally but who is to say anyone wouldnt react the same way if in similar situations? It's like being called a thief if you steal from Arvo.. Okay, I'm a thief, but we now have med's. Pain killers for Rebecca, and Luke, Anti biotic's for Kenny. It's just too easy to blame people or call them names when we have the comfort of sitting at home playing a game. Put yourself into their shoes during a real ZA and I can almost guarentee 99% of people who survive, will not care one bit how they are seen by others. Okay, i'm a killer, but I have food, water and supplies. Okay I'm a coward for running away, but i'm still alive.
The situation is different but it's still alike, the comparison IS there because if you choose to chop off her arm the situation is A direct correlation to Lilly and Larry.
Also If Sarita was bit and started flailing around, The herd would have seen her and reacted more hostile and could have caused Mike, kenny and Clem to be killed the same way Carlos died because of Sarah.
Larry was a man who you were unsure if he was alive. His daughter was screaming that he isn't dead which is 100% Reasonable. Lilly is pragmatic and also, Unlike Kenny she had Way more experience with handling her father's Medical condition and has probably seen it happen before and also seen him be resuscitated from it. A heart attack =/= Death. People have heart attacks and live all the time. Kenny had No right to End a man's life. Also we've seen Walkers wake up before, There's a good minute window to kill him if the situation calls for it.
Likewise, Clem had the choice to cut a woman's arm but this time to save her life even if the chance was Completely unlikely. Should she have been bit and walked a few hours to Parker's run she would have been too late to save even with a cut limb. Kenny reacted the same way as Lilly did, but this time he's yelling at a small girl (11 years old, too young) who was THERE IN THE MEAT LOCKER when Kenny did something similar IF NOT WORSE. The argument is that Kenny is a Hypocrite. And he is. He is a murderer whereas Clem didn't stab Sarita in the heart, she made a mistake and was put under duress.
You're missing the point. You can't compare these situations; they are nothing alike. Apples-Oranges comparison.
Just because both involved tough decisions doesn't mean they should be viewed as equal situations. That is just illogical.
Kenny had every right to blame Clementine in this situation. She did it in a hurry and with good intentions, but that doesn't make it any less wrong. Kenny just lost the person he loved and cared about (again) and Clementine was the main reason for this. Even if you didn't cut her arm off, without Clementine, Kenny and Sarita would still live a somewhat happy life at the ski lodge and all of this would have never happened.
You can blame the cabin people for luring trouble to the ski lodge, not Clementine. Clementine had Nothing to do with Carver and it was Kenny who wanted her to stay.
He could Blame Clementine all he likes but doesn't change the fact that he IS a hypocrite. He Murdered Larry right in front of Lilly. What Clem did was a MISTAKE, what Kenny did was WRONG because Kenny intentionally Wanted Larry dead.

Sure, because they were not stuck in a meat locker and Ben's friend was a teenager, his body is quiet easy to handle if he turns.
yet Kenny makes some bland assumption that a heart attack from stress is suddenly the end of the line for Larry?
Well as I said before you can not take a chance to get stuck with a 6-foot-four, 300 pound man.
but kenny has NO RIGHT to tell off Clementine for what she did
We may have different views regarding this, but I still think that cutting off someone's arm is just wrong. And as I replied to "Eguro" it was due to the bad writing.

I think your wrong about Kenny and Sarita would have lived happily at the ski lodge. The cabin group (Carlos, Luke, Rebecca ETC) still escaped from Carver's group, they were still going to leave that cabin anyways, so they would have eventually ended up at the lodge. Then Carver would still have arrived at the lodge and taken Kenny and the others back to their camp. All that proably still would have happened regardless if Clem were part of the group or not. And let's not forget, Kenny react's to Clem differently depending on whether or not she cut's off Sarita's arm. Kenny is still obviously upset, but not as much as he does if you do cut off the arm.
Kenny had every right to blame Clementine in this situation. She did it in a hurry and with good intentions, but that doesn't make it any le… moress wrong. But Your stuck with a 6-foot-4 300 pound man who's dead and if he was to reanimate he still has a Minute window to react. You can then Off him there?? Like You act as if Lee and Kenny are no-muscled little teenagers and can't do anything? Also say he does turn he'd likely bite Lilly before anyone else. IT STILL doesn't change the fact that ONE action could have saved a woman even remotely and also she's an 11 year old child who remembered that very same incident in the meat locker and Kenny was the one who did it to Larry.
This is also in direct correlation to Katjaa who was desperately treating Ben's friend to his final moments covered in blood to save him

I too wanted Larry dead after he tried to kill Lee in the drug store. Maybe Larry would have survived his heart attack, maybe not, but in my opinion, after what Larry tried to do, I couldnt allow him to live to try to kill Lee again. So was it "wrong"? morally, maybe, but in trying to survive and protect Clem, it was the right thing to do no matter how horrible it may have been.
I don't think it's such a matter of right or wrong, it's a difference of opinion between people who try to retain their moral values and those who put basic survival first!

You can hate Larry all you want but Kenny is far from a saint either. Larry never makes an attempt on your life after that wheras:
-Kenny chooses to Not help you and leaves you to fend for yourself when you return to the Everett Pharmacy in the beginning of Episode 3.
-Kenny initially wanted to abandon Ben to die
-Kenny was willing to put everyone in danger with a reanimated duck because he refused to stop the train through his own pity party.
-Kenny can abandon you when Clementine is missing in Episode 5 after your bit.
-Kenny doesn't care about Alvin and Carlos' life despite your pleads UNLESS you mention Sarita. (it's one thing if it was say Nick who was responsible for Matthew's death, but Carlos and Alvin did nothing to Kenny and are both basically Kenny's equivalent of who's looking out for their family since Carlos is a father and Alvin is soon-to-be).
-KENNY HAD A GUN AND WAS PRETTY DAMN CLOSE TO SHOOTING CLEMENTINE FOR CLEM DOING THE SAME THING HE DID (but his was worse) about SARITA.

You're always welcome, champ!

Nope, because I like characters that aren't boring. Kenny is very predictable, this entire season has been wasted potential for Kenny. I'll spare you from each little example, because I'd be typing all day. But he's the epitome of "survival dude who is in perpetual pain" boring character trope. And personally, I don't like him... at all. However, I didn't really "like" Joel either. But just like really good characters, Joel was pretty consistent in his character development throughout the game, and was genuinely interesting.

You seriously need some screenplay classes.
So again, It's not about him being well written or not. You simply don't like who his character is as a person.
Sorry to disappoint you, but you only got the train and Omid parts correct. Still, you deserve recognizition for that. You're smarter than what you've made yourself look like today.
Anyway, at least we can say we had fun.
Sorry. Geez.
That's kinda true, but it's due to the bad writing of the episode, they wanted you to see both Kenny and Luke as jerks at the end of the episode.
It's because he's so important that's my issue. Did you read my post, or are you just another "KEENY 4 LYFE SALTLIK ARME" fanboy?
(?) xChryst Might Remember That...
Read your comment wrong. Move along.
I am smrt, yes.
You're missing the point. You can't compare these situations; they are nothing alike. Apples-Oranges comparison.
Just because both involved tough decisions doesn't mean they should be viewed as equal situations. That is just illogical.
Anyway - sorry to disrupt, carry on!
Oh shit, this means I'm about to die unexpectedly.
You're totally entitled to that opinion. I can't really argue with the fact that you personally find his character to be getting stale. It's totally a subjective thing.
What I do have a problem with is people blaming that sort of thing on the writing.
Mission somewhat accomplished
Yeah I'll leave it at that, cause I think we've already quite exhausted this topic
I just hadn't really considered this before reading your discussion (so he clearly isn't growing that stale on me - or I just hadn't notice on account of the hate-fog I see :P)
And you're right - subjective as hell
Wow dude, look we all ply the game, play it differently, and think differently, So please don't lash out. Or at me because I wont respond. S top doing anything you might of regret or you might even get banned. You weren't puzzling my mind and i bet hes not 7. You don't puzzle my mind when your Insulting someone , and i cant speak for others when I say that. Hate me and down vote all you want because this is just my opinion on the matter.
It was a mistake. I thought he had told just me to shut up since I'm the one he replied to. Bad move.
Well as I said before you can not take a chance to get stuck with a 6-foot-four, 300 pound man.
