  • Yeah, I know and I really don't get that excuse because there's no expectation or right to privacy on Telltale's forums. If they want privacy, they should start their own forum. As it is, this is Telltale's house and as such, their rules must be obeyed. Telltale appointed trusted community volunteers (mods) to manage the forum and they trust these people to do the job. When Jennifer merged that thread, Telltale merged that thread. Telltale's house, Telltale's rules. It's like that on all forums. Some people don't like obeying other people's rules, so they form their own forums, which allows them the privacy and the freedom to do as they wish. There are plenty of options, but all of us should remember that we're guests here. We're not entitled to anything.

  • Yeah, but some people there weren't very bright so i guess they didn't get that but keep in mind it's a small percentage of them.

  • I just got back from a 12 hour activity and it appears as if I've missed important, although rather bad, information. Could someone explain to me (or PM me) about what's happened. It seems it involves a moderator leaving due to name calling and other childish crap?

  • What happened to Jennifer was reprehensible. In my opinion, everyone who insulted her should apologize if they haven't already. Then, she will decide whether she still wants to be here or not. Arguing further is unnecesary.

As a sometimes member of the FOTD Crew, I'm disappointed in the way some folks handled themselves. I didn't even say anything. Still, my apologies for what happened, Jennifer. You never want to see anyone go through depression or being pushed around. Keep in mind, some of the people who were harsh to her are friends of mine. They're not bad folks. Let's hope they learn from their mistakes.

I'm done here. Good night, everybody.

2: Members of Forum Of The Dead became angry

3: Hurtful and disrespectful things were said to Jennifer, a moderator.

4: the mega-thread was temporarily closed, Jennifer may have left, and at least 2 people were banned.

5: I asked everyone to be nicer

6: they ignored me and went back to arguing

    7: it's all over now.(thank god)

A Steam community group or something of the sort that is monitored by willing members of their group could also work. No real need to setup a forum.

  • Who are the people at the FOTDL? Like, the active ones exactly? I first saw them some time at the beginning of the month and I thought they were pretty cool and nice, but I guess I was wrong.

  • Merging threads is really annoying and I can see why people would go batshit crazy on the mod that did it.

  • Hello fellow Kindler! Lol. I use my PC for TWD, but I bought TWAU for my new Kindle and it works great on it. I love the Kindle. :-)

Things started changing around here at the end of spring/beginning of summer, if I had to guess. I don't want to be too negative about it all, but I used to really like coming on here. I think there was a big surge in membership, which is great, but when a lot of people join the atmosphere can change a bit. It's like that with anything. Change isn't always bad, but some things didn't necessarily change for the better.

Ultimately, I just hope that this forum can regain its focus and become a little more mature and lose some of the high school drama type outrage and anger. Most of the people on here are decent people. There are always a few trolls on every forum on the internet, but I think the mods do a good job containing them here. It's easy to get angry on the internet. I'm sure all of us have been guilty of it before, myself included. I think if we all make a joint effort to keep the forum positive and have productive, respectful discussions/debates, even when we disagree, this forum will return to being a fun and enjoyable place for us all. We're all here because of a common interest, Telltale games. So, we all at least have that much in common.

I had enjoyed going to this thread, but I don't even know the full story.... The people over at FOTD are Very nice people. It makes me mad for you guys to outright call them dumb or anything else. Yes they have been mean to Jennifer but I guess its justifiable. Many of them over there are going through hard times, and it gives them a chance to talk about that or anything with the people involved there. Most of them have known each other for quite awhile, and inviting that many people into a very close group of people is not going to work out. If you ask me, Jennifer should have suggested that we merge the thread or change it/ get rid of it, before just doing it. It was like taking people off the street and shoving them into a random family's house saying "you're going to live here and like it." The whole point of the thread was for the people taking part of the fan fiction to talk, most readers of the story liked to spend time there to and so all became close. I know people became mad at the situation, but its just one thread... why need to fuck with it at all? And if anyone says "Oh you can't became close with someone over the net lolololol." I completely disagree, not all of them just used this forum to talk, they had Skype and other things as well. Some even visited each other or turned out to live nearby one another.EDIT: Sorry, I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just giving my opinion on this whole thing.

  • whAT DID I LoG ON TO

  • Its because some users kind of 'live' on there. I dont mean that as a bad thing but its kind of like there home for some of them, but that is no excuse.

Yeah. we all do. It was.... inexcusable.

  • I wont give you their names(I would rather you go check yourself, if you are that intent on learning them) , but I assure you that a few of them were trying to keep trying to keep the peace, and that not all of them are COMPLETE assholes.

True. I didn't even think of that. Reddit can be good for setting up communities too.

    Edit:

Though I'm not sure if you could make it exclusive/private on Reddit. Every Reddit forum I've ever been on has been publicly viewable and open to everyone. Maybe someone here knows?
