If they do bring downvotes back however, they should at least make it so that we can hover our mouse over the dowvotes and see who has downvoted you. They could also implement this for the upvotes as well.
I want the downvote button back as well... seriously... I don't want to do all those perverse verbal things instead... I mean, all this esse… morentially forces us to have an opinion on something that exceeds "don't like it"... that's just not for everyone, people! Thoughtful exchanges are overrated. Why can't the Telltale forums be more like reddit? The pitchfork is mightier than the feather.
Completey agree. Its like I am trapped in a pre-school class where there are no wrong answers and everyone has to love one another. Not sayi… moreng anyone should be mean to one another but at the same time this is supposed to be a 18+ forum.
Just get rid of it completely.

I fall on both sides of this argument, but ultimately I think the remove side wins out..
I don't understand why people got so bent out of shape over dislikes. They only have as much meaning as you give them. A random stranger doesn't appreciate what you said? It doesn't matter, pay the, no mind. If they're as mean and stupid as you say they are, then their opinion isn't worth getting upset over.
Having said that, I agree with the large number of people who think the dislike button has a negative impact on the community. Justifiably or not, they caused a lot of bad feels and hostility. Anyone who's seen how volatile this place can get probably knows what I'm talking about.

Come now, stigmatically isn't exactly a common word...so don't stigmatize me.
I don't see how a dislike or two labels the recipient. It's not some mark of shame that would stay with you forever. You don't turn into an un-person for making an unpopular thread.
1) you were trolling me. Regardless
2) I see people getting down voted like up to negative 50 for expressing their opinions..and these same people who got down voted again in another thread(s) for sharing their view. So..people do get branded as a hater or whatever.

1.) It was a joke...I meant nothing by it. For somebody who calls people "pussy boys" and insults others' intelligence, you're very thin-skinned.
2.) You're have the right to form your own opinions and share them with others, but that also means that other users have the right to think that your opinion sucks. Let's be honest, if someone is flooded with dozens of dislikes, it's probably because they said something wildly offensive or incomprehensible. In those cases, people are going to treat that person differently, regardless of the number of downvotes.

Means what your saying impacted them so much that they need to take time out of their day just to spite you with petty, meaningless attacks.
Also, you could easily just ignore it. Still a moot point though, dislikes aren't coming back.
Fair enough, that's why I think downvotes should stay gone. They don't bother me, but they clearly bother other people and cause more problems than they're worth.
It's like my country, Australia: we vote for a person to be Prime Minister, the person wins the election, and then we complain about all the things that the person is doing wrong. Abbott won the election and then everyone called him out for turning back the boats.
This is meant to be a place where discussing something is encouraged. Downvotes don't help one bit. It was completely pointless to begin with and there's no reason to bring them back.

I would agree to bringing back the downvote if it's possible to unanonymize (even less sure if that's a word) them. Upvotes too. Anonymous agreement or disagreement is pointless and weaksauce. Might as well let guests do it if we keep them like that. If you want to take a stand on an issue, show that you take a stand for it. If not by actually commenting then at least by publicly demonstrating your opinion.
But then surely its the same argument, if you dont agree downvote or even if you dont disagree dont downvote. I fail to see how you can like one and not the other. Get rid of the lot
I got down voted a lot but I think they should bring it back too express are opinions ... unless there's people that really take it too heart then I guess fuck it

No! They need to stay gone
I agree with you, there is no need to always have an explanation, following your intuition is good enough
Why so offensive ?
take it easy
the hell you smoking? if you don't agree...DON"T UPVOTE.
down vote is totally abusive....they'll just down vote for the hell of it.

down voting has stigmatic effect on that person.
Could you rephrase that? I have an idea of what you're trying too say but I'm not 100% sure.

Easy with the insults, man.

2) maybe...or just maybe that they don't like this person and so they follow every post of that person and down vote.
I doubt anyone would do that unless they're a troll, lol.
That would require serious dedication on the part of the troll. Frankly I'd be flattered (and a bit freaked out).
doubt? sorry it's true story lol.
i don't know how you would see that as flattering?

sure..but it's really annoying...i'm sure some people would be offended for getting down vote for nothing.

Well Downvoting Haters Would Be Nice.
Same With My Country's President, BO (Brako Obama) Screwed Everything Up. Get Ready For WW3!
I Declare This The New Dislike Button!

Seriously though, fuck Tony Abbott.
Agreed.
I miss it. I really liked it, people would take it way to personally. It made me smile.
There's a song on Youtube called "Fuck You Abbott"

Well... people up vote for the heck of it...
