My Christmas wish is to survive this holiday without resorting to alcoholism, lets see how well that turns out. What time is it?

People keep giving my father a bottle of Jack Daniels as a present, but if I remember correctly he actually prefers Wild Turkey. For me it's all Beefeater.
I drink jack pretty much every day in preparation for Christmas/new years/ Thanksgiving and every other holiday that involves family. Drinking is a great way to avoid family.

The only "family" that does talk to me, will converse with me because they want something, other than that i never get "Hey George how are you doing, want to hang out and see that movie."

Because he gambled away the Christmas for the kids. I told his wife why you telling me about it. He is my sister's husband's brother. He isn't even directly related to me.
You know why she is telling me. I know why she is telling me, i hate being used.
Living in a continent the rest of your family has never even visited works too.
Now that you mention it, I haven't lived within 3000 miles of my family since 2007...
That's harsh, I sort of have the opposite issue, in the extent to which family keeps disavowing family because of mistakes here and there. I'm debating posting this, but my father wouldn't let me see my cousins growing up because they didn't go to college and my father 'didn't want me to think that's okay,' plus we didn't have the money for multiple vacations and the few we did we'd see my father's family... Not to begrudge that, I love my grandmother and grandfather, but when I went to my cousins wedding a few years ago, there were tons of family I had never known, or hadn't seen since I was a toddler.
I was tempted to post this on another post of yours I saw, but did you ever read "The Great Santini"? There's a movie, but they tone it down an lot and cut parts out... That and a movie called "Igby Goes Down." Personally watching/reading that calms me.

I have extended family i don't know either. I don't even know them, they live in Italy somewhere, and i have some family in Texas. I also don't know them. I never met them, so i'm not close with them at all. They've never made an attempt to reach out to me.
Its not like they're calling me daily asking how I'm doing. I donated a money this year to build a school in honor of my father that passed last year, the drama that caused was beyond outrageous. When family finds out your donating money to strangers instead of them, they get upset.

The biggest thing i hate about xmas is this feeling of obligation that people expect you to be at their house, pretend we are a close family. No one talks to me except about the negatives in my life, it feels so pointless to go over someone's house who obviously don't want you there.
I personally rather spend my time with Jack. He is the best friend i ever had.
I'd give money to strangers long before I'd give money to family. My mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law are the only family I care about. The rest are I can hardly even consider family. Damn definitions keep ruining that, though. Nothing in common, they don't even like me. I get invited to the get togethers through my sister because she is the only one who feels I should be invited. Then what few times I did show up I would get dirty scowls, degrading passive aggressive interrogation, or blatantly forced smiles. But that's okay, I have no interest in spending what precious time I do have on pretentious fucks. Anyways, sorry it this was out of place. I just saw the x-mas family rant posts and had to chime in with my story.

I do crazy shit when i drink Crown. Like seriously crazy shit. Last time i got drunk on Crown Town, i ended up kissing on a stripper. I was so drunk.
No, i was at a bachelor party and i drank the most i ever drank in one time. I should of been dead, i drank so much, I drank a fifth of crown, plus like 20 red cups of beer from a keg. Somehow i remember a stripper sitting on my lap and we ended up making out, and well. Lets just say i was deeply depressed for my behavior and washed myself to get clean again.
