Game(s) that are Underrated in your opinion
I feel like Borderlands Pre Sequel was pretty underrated. It's no Borderlands 2, but it was a damn good game that didn't deserve some of the hate it got.
Also, I thought Walking Dead: Survival Instinct got a lot of hate that wasn't necessary. It sure isn't anything memorable or Game of the Year worthy, but it wasn't that bad.

Probably my favorite GTA game, but I'm a pretty biased to the series to begin with. It's an amazing prequel to GTA 3 and I personally love it.
COD.... Just kidding! I'd say Dark Dreams Don't Die (D4) is underrated even though it's Weirdest game I've ever played. Bioshock infinite is a little underrated too.
Both games leave you like this
This game was great, too bad it was eclipsed by the console/PC GTAs
Yeah, it and Vice City Stories, though I'm personally a lot more fond of LCS.
Ahh finally someone made this thread . I will add some now and more later that I think were underrated:
Binary Domain: Definitely underrated in my opinion the games story was really good and the characters were interesting and one of my favorite games of last gen. Reminded me of mass effect to a degree
Dead Island: One of my favorite games of the zombie genre. Really liked the story and interesting gameplay. I felt it was criticized way to much.
Dragon Age 2: Just recently played this and Always heard people say it's not as good as Origins. While it may not be as great, I believe it is still very good and heavily underrated.
Murdered Soul Suspect: Now this game in my opinion is one of the most underrated games in the last few years. I loved the atmosphere, the interesting gameplay, great story, and genuinely interesting scary side stories. Sucks the developers basically went broke and had to close their doors
Call of Duty Ghosts. C'mon people, it's not THAT bad.
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword: I've seen many people hating on this game because of it's art style and controls, but it really is a fantastic game.
Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. Some might argue that this game is OVERRATED. But I disagree, people are starting to ignore Morrowind, and praise Skyrim, that game is not deserving of the praise
The world ends with you.
The only DS game i've ever found perfect
Seconded for Murdered: Soul Suspect. Feel like the only person on the planet who thought it was a good game.
The entire Tales franchise.
Dishonored was really good, I just think it needed to be a bit longer.
And don't even get me started on those annoying acid spitting rock/oyster/vagina things.
Enslaved: Odissey to the West
Great gameplay, great characters, great story.
Well Morrowind was released 13 years ago you know...
Disphonored is a very creative game with a fascinating environment and a pleasant non-linear gameplay. However the plot is sloppy, predictable and none of the characters shine on the scene, they merely make an impression upon the player.
It's still bad. The first CoD I absolutely hated from start to finish.
Sleeping Dogs.
A lot of people don't really like this game that much or they kind of just wipe it off as a lame GTA knockoff.
I personally think it's one of the most fun and enjoyable open world games out there, it combines a lot of mechanics and while they're not perfect, they're serviceable and give variety to the gameplay and work solidly. The game's story may be on the short side, but I personally think that helped the game not overstay its welcome and helped the pacing to the game.
To me it just didn't have anything noteworthy about it. It's well-made, but it's really generic and kinda boring.
BioShock Infinite underrated. Wat. It won several GOTY awards.
Hell's highway still has the best graphics IMO
Not necessarily underrated but not a lot of people play it
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door?
That game was awesome! Actually, I'd hardly call it underrated as I thought a lot of people already liked it and held it in high regard, though?
A lot of people thought the Deadpool game a while back was repetitious, but I still found it to be a pretty fun game and I don't even read the comics - I only knew about him because I saw him in Marvel Vs Capcom 3.
I guess I just never hear people talk about it. It's one of my favorite Gamecube games!
No one plays Minecraft for the characters either. The gameplay and stealth are really what makes it fun, that and having so many ways to go through the missions.
Yeah, I guess it was just kinda niche for some. Sucks that the newer Paper Mario games are more gimmicky nowadays.
I think Front Mission 3 should have around the same level of popularity as Final Fantasy Tactics.
Although it was not good as Origins, I think it wasn't THAT bad as a lot of people are claiming.
Sure, it didn't bring anything new to the franchise, but it was still a pretty enjoyable game and IMO doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Also, it has a great soundtrack. :-P
And agreed with Pre-sequel, it was a good game.
This gem:
D4 is fucking amazing! It's a shame that its future is looking more and more bleak each day when it comes to the next episode release.
YES!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think your right too. The developer said that he needed a lot of good reviews for him to make another episode. They can't end it with that cliff hanger it will drive me insane!
From what I've been hearing, it's mainly Microsoft's fault it did bad in sales, as well as the majority of Xbox 1 players not being interested in the game.
In fact, I've been playing it earlier today - internally hoping that Swery will soon bring news of an episode 3 or a season 2 in the making!
But yeah, that cliffhanger tease, makes me sad every time I see it. I really want to see the fight between David and the transformed agent!
i can't stand even looking at that guy! He's so disgusting! When he licked Olivia (it's Olivia Jones right?) I almost puked
Correct, and all-the-more reason to kill him dead. (or at the very least, Sparta kick him out of the plane's cargo hold) XD
I know right, Morrowind is so underrated that people have been making an extremely detailed remake mod in Skyrim for years.
Sarcasm aside I'm pretty sure that it's not forgotten or really underrated, it's more of a matter that it's old and from a time were both games and the the Elder Scrolls franchise weren't as popular so it simply has been played by less people even though in it's time it was really popular.
As for Skyward Sword, to be fair every main line Zelda game after Ocarina of Time has been the worst according to people when they came out, Majora's Mask was shit because of the 3 day mechanic, Windwaker was shit because of the art style and sailing, Twilight Princess was shit because it was a shitty attempt at being a dark Ocarina of Time or something, I mean if I'm honest I don't like Twilight Princess so I get really confused when people say it's their favourite when it's so obviously the worst one for me, but anyway as for Skyward Sword, well unfortunately I haven't played much of it because I don't own a Wii and pretty much I only played the intro and I must say that was a fucking unnecessarily long intro, regardless Zelda fans are very picky, just wait until the Wii U game comes out, then there's going to be a lot of people saying Skyward Sword is awesome and the new one is absolute shit.
I haven't played it yet but I must admit that I was extremely excited when I first heard about it and then got extremely disappointed after finding out it wasn't a fourth installment in the old survival horror franchise called D, which by the way the D franchise now those are some underrated games.
-Murdered: Soul Suspect: basically a much better Beyond Two Souls. Just don't buy it for forty bucks.
-The Cat Lady: Great soundtrack, compelling story and cheap too!
-Deus Ex: Human Revolution: The best game I've played in a decade. I'm so happy it's getting a direct sequel.
