Alright, right now at least, the poll doesn't seem to be gaining anymore votes so I'll take a second to explain and provide a little more co… morentext for both options. In this case it settled relatively equally. 4/3. I don't want to simply go with the higher voted choice right now, since I'd rather not cut off the almost equal minority.

Ah, I'm not sure here. I picked the pirates in the poll, so I shall do it again. The whole pirate setting would be unlike anything else on this forum so far. However, the description for the mystery story sounded extremely interesting as well and immediately gave me an idea for a character I'd like to submit. Both of these ideas sound awesome and I'm looking forward for them regardless of what choice wins.

I was really conflicted on which to choose, which is why I made the poll. Admittedly, the mystery story has been on my mind much longer, but having played through most of Tales of Monkey Island (a Telltale pirate adventure game that's pretty damn funny at times) the thought of making a pirate story crept into my mind. Thus the poll was born!
And as I said to Fin, just because one option is chosen above the other doesn't mean it's immediately void. In all honestly, once the chosen story has come to an end, (and provided I've gotten Monument back on track), I'd happily follow suit with the runner-up!
[Pirate Adventure for thee!]

As the trucks rolled over the hill, Jerry ran with all his speed to the farmhouse, throwing dust into the air with every step. He huffed out several shaky breaths as he came to a sliding stop just inside the farmhouse. “Atlanta? Ashley!” Jerry yelled with his back to the side of the door. The lack of an answer worried Jerry.
He peeked his head out from behind the doorframe and saw that the three trucks were pulled over at the side of the county road next to the RV. Jordan and Josephine were hidden inside of it. “Shit,” Jerry muttered under his breath as he came to realize it.
“Jerry?” His head turned to the voice of a woman. Both Ashley, Atlanta and Daniel were carefully and sneakingly walking down the stairs. “Jesus, we saw the trucks!” Ashley exclaimed with hushed words as they hunkered down next to Jerry.
“Are Josephine and Jordan still in the RV?” Atlanta asked worryingly. “Yeah…” Jerry replied uneasily. He peeked around the door once more and saw the RV door being opened by the people who had now left their trucks. They held automatic rifles. He pulled himself back behind the doorframe, and said, “They’re opening up the RV,” a tone of frustrated in his voice.
As Atlanta looked out herself, she saw the two being escorted out of the RV by gunpoint. The people behind the guns seemed to be talking with them, but they were out of earshot. “They’ve got them,” Atlanta grimaced as she spoke. “What we going to do?”
“They aren’t killing us on sight,” Jerry pointed out. “We could try to get the jump on them,” he sighed, “I’d have to go around the house from the back door.” Jerry’s suggestion seemed reasonable. Ashley nodded. “I’ve got my pistol on me. I’ll hide upstairs and see if I can get a few of them pinned,” she frowned, “or something.”
“Damn,” Atlanta muttered. “Are we going to kill them? What’s the alternative?” The look in Jerry’s eyes spoke for themselves. Jerry poked his head around the doorway one more time and frowned as he faced Atlanta again. “We surrender.”
“Fuck that,” Ashley muttered under breath. Jerry nodded. “Let’s get going - Atlanta hide with Daniel somewhere safe,” he ordered and they silently agreed as they got in place. The last Jerry saw of Ashley as her darting up the stairs, while Atlanta and Daniel ran further into the house. Once out the back door Jerry made a mad dash towards a fence surrounding the property that had tall grass, making it a pretty good hiding spot.
His head poked out of the grass and he got a good look at the people. There was about 7 of them and they all looked like shit. He quickly ducked down and laid with his body horizontal to the barb wire fence. He was now within earshot and heard them talking. “--and the others?” a man questioned. “They gotta be in the house or the barn,” another said. “Careful now, they’re armed. And they probably now we’re here.”
Jerry heard moaning from behind him and turned his head to see a walker approaching him. It was about twenty feet away. Jerry pulled his pistol from his side and held it near his lips as he laid in the grass.
“Walker,” one of the armed men announced. “I got it,” another replied. Jerry let out a sigh of relief when a shot rang out and the walker fell to the ground with a chunk missing from its head. He choked his head up and look at the people through the grass and fence. “--Give me the megaphone,” one of them ordered. The guy ordering them around looked like a sonofabitch. He had white bandages covering his face and wore a longsleeve button up shirt with jeans. Behind him, on their knees, were both Jordan and Josephine. They appeared to be tied up.
One of the other men, who Jerry now deemed minions, handed the man a megaphone. He took it ungratefully and held it to his mouth. “We know you’re in there,” the man stated. “Please, come out and save yourselves from the unnecessary violence that will come if you don’t come out.” Jerry narrowed his eyes as the man continued. “We believe we only want one of you.”
The headhuncho raised his hand and pointed to the duo of Jordan and Josephine. “If not we’ll be forced to execute them - members of your group, we reckon - on top of breaking down the door of that house you’re hiding in.” His face seemed to frown underneath its wrapping, but as he continued, his voice sounded insensitive. “That would a shame, wouldn’t it? This one here,” he pointed towards Josephine, “wasn’t she was the one you were looking for?”
Jerry’s mouth fell partly open. “Oh fuck,” Jerry mumbled softly. It was a sonofabitch. “Jerry, are you there?” The man taunted. “I’m pretty sure it’s you we want, but we’ll diffidently settle for all of you.” This guy was Zafir in the flesh.
One of the other men reached for the megaphone and snatched it from Zafir’s hands. They exchanged cold looks and the new guy raised the megaphone to his own lips. “Please, come out and don’t let this start .” Jerry seemed to recognize the new guy. It was Jake.
Jake sighed into the megaphone. “You gotta listen to us; one or possibly several of you burned down the mall and killed many of our group. Good people died that day.” Zafir nodded as he took the megaphone from Jake. “You killed our people and drove us from our only shelter from this bullshit ‘end-of-times’.” Zafir narrowed his eyes. “Please, I’d rather not have innocent blood on my hands. Of course, in this new world, it’s a common occurrence.”
Jerry’s lip curled with an angry expression as he heard out Zafir’s demands. “I’m gonna ask real nicely…” Zafir paused and almost seemed to hold a lifeless look in his eye. “One. Last. Time. Whoever it was that burned down the Vincent’s lab - and slit his throat - come out so we can punish those responsible.”
Zafir waited what seemed like an eternity, though it was roughly three minutes, before he shook his head disappointedly. “Guess we’ll have to make this more interesting,” he said with a sigh. Zafir reached for his holster, and pulled out a pistol and then pointed it towards Josephine’s head. “I’ll do it,” he assured. “Like I said before, tt would be a shame to kill her. But, I might as well start somewhere lower. I’m pretty sure she was innocent, after all,” he referred to Josie.
Nonchalantly, Zafir moved his pistol to Jordan. “But what about her? What does Jordan mean to you? She’s a traitor in my eyes. Maybe an ally in yours.” He looked down at Jordan - tied up and gagged - he sighed longingly. He lowered the megaphone from his lips and frowned with a genuine betrayed expression. “I’m sad you choose you leave. We had a good thing going, and you and Christian went over to them, the people who then went on to kill more than half our group in a chemical fire.”
Jordan bared a distraught look. She was breathing heavily and, to Zafir, looked like she wanted to say something. He reached for her gag and removed it. “Maybe you can convince them to come out - they’re your friends, after all.”
He held the megaphone to her lips as one of the other men held her in place to make sure she didn’t attempt to make a run for it. As Zafir held down the button, Jordan said her peace. “It was me,” she cried. “I helped the three bastards kidnap Josephine! I killed your friend myself!” Tears drowned out her shaky voice as she shook her head. “It was me…” Jordan trailed off.
“I’m gonna be honest, Jordan, that was fucking awful defence.” Zafir shook his head and replaced the gag, but as he did so Jordan tired to yell out another sentence. “Wait, there’s more you need to--” It was too late. Her shouting was now inaudible behind the gag. Josephine stared at her with wide and surprised eyes.
Jerry clenched his fist in anger. It was Jordan all along. His anger with Jordan was soon cool with the replacement of Zafir as he continued. “Well, what do you know? A traitor to my own and to yours.” He sighed. “I’m gonna count down from five, if no one makes themselves known by then I’ll kill her.” Zafir tilted his head. “I wouldn’t be surprised if none of you come out now, but you should know, I’ll then move onto the other girl.”
Jerry wasn’t too thrilled about Jordan’s confession. In fact he was quite mad. Why should he help this woman? She killed Dean. She helped kidnap Josie. She could have helped break down the wall of Harvest Hills for all he knew. But what good would come of it if she died? Satisfaction? Zafir would just move onto Josephine if he even did kill Jordan, which, while likely, could all be a bluff. But in truth, Zafir wanted him alone. And he was going to get him one way or other. At least there was always plan C...

Oh shit... Oh no, no, no... fucking sonofabitch got Josie! No, she mustn't die now! And since Zafir never gives empty threats, staying hidden is not an option. However, surrendering isn't an option either, because there was this little quote from earlier:
“I’m not telling you shit. You’ll kill them… You’ll have to… beat it out of me.” Christian denied.
“You’re right, I’m going to kill them all. And, well, lucky for you I don’t plan to beat it out of you. I’m on their heels now. I don’t need you. And besides, you’d probably die before I get any information.” Zafir grinned.
He has no intentions of leaving Jordan or Josie or anyone from their group alive, that's for sure, even if Josie wasn't involved in this at all. That means, Jerry has only one chance if he wants to save Josie's life and his own as well, namely to follow the glory that is Plan C.
[Come out shooting your pistol at the sonofabitch (Zafir).]
Hopefully this will at least give Josie enough time to flee the scenery before all hell breaks loose. And maybe, just maybe, he ends the life of this sonofabitch Zafir and this sonofabitch Jake and all the other sonofabitches from Zafir's group.

You have a point, but look at it this way: Zafir is after the people who betrayed him (Christian and Jordan) and the people responsible for starting the fine in his mall. Which is Jerry. So he could very well keep to his word and just punish Jerry. Then again, he could also kill everyone in the group just to get to Jerry. You could never know. He has been somewhat reasonable in the first episode finale, but that was before Jerry took everything away.
But you won't know for sure until either Jerry surrenders, the others comes out of hiding, Jerry starts shooting people, or Zafir reaches one.
Hopefully this will at least give Josie enough time to flee the scenery before all hell breaks loose. And maybe, just maybe, he ends the life of this sonofabitch Zafir and this sonofabitch Jake and all the other sonofabitches from Zafir's group.
She could probably escape if Jerry creates enough of a distraction. But only if he can kill a good few of the people. Maybe if Ashley provides some much needed cover fire from upstairs. A lot of bad things are going to happen if you make the wrong choices. People will die depending on what you choose.

True, but I think he really lost it after loosing his mall. His interaction with Christian made this clear. No way he would listen to reason, especially since Atlanta, Ashley and Dan were also present. Josie is the only one who might get away, but since Zafir is a sadistic fuck he is probably going to punish her too just to hurt Jerry even more or just for fun.

Yep, I'm hoping for that outcome. Ashley seems to be ready to provide cover fire at least.

Hopefully Zafir and Jake. And hopefully not Josie. She still has her score with Jordan and kidnapper-sonofabitch #3 to settle after all. In some other stories I would be sure now that she would survive, but this being Monument I am still royally afraid.

Well, the fact Josephine had little to no involvement with the mall being burned down, she isn't a suspect, victim, or responsible what so ever for what happened, he could actual spare here above anyone. But he has already threatened her life. Zafir's a wildcard right now. You won't know what he's thinking until he either say it out loud or does something questionable

Depends if she has the gumption to do it. She could potential kill someone, which is something she's never done before. Though she knows her friends and wouldn't let them get hurt. Hopefully.

The thing is kidnapper-sonofabitch #3 is still alive. Somewhere. He was among Zafir's group at one point. And it would be rather anti-climatic to have him die during the horde in the beginning of episode two. So I guess it's only a matter of time before they make themselves known... and he is a submitted character. A creepy one, too, but you probably already knew that.

From my point of view, I don't think having a gun fight is the smartest thing they can do right now. They practically brought cap guns to an artillery battle. Sorry, but I don't think Jerry is made of steel, and for some reason Bullets are very bad for human life.

“Yeah…” Jerr… [view original content]
You won't know what he's thinking until he either say it out loud or does something questionable
I guess even then it's not sure what he is truly thinking. I mean, he said that he would not like to shoot Josie, while I am sure killing or torturing innocent people is exactly the stuff that turns him on. He was somewhat reasonable in the Mall, but he completely lost it after it burned down. If he is not going to shoot her outright just to cause more pain to Jerry, he is probably giving her to #3, knowingly or unknowingly. And I'm not sure which option would be worse.
The thing is kidnapper-sonofabitch #3 is still alive. Somewhere. He was among Zafir's group at one point. And it would be rather anti-climatic to have him die during the horde in the beginning of episode two. So I guess it's only a matter of time before they make themselves known...
I guess he is still with Zafir's group. Before he cut her off, Jordan was probably about to reveal who it was. This indicates that Zafir still wouldn't approve of #3's actions, or else Jordan wouldn't have been that eager to reveal the name. It could also mean that he is currently present at the scenery. And we know he has an eye on Josie.
A second possibility that would somehow make him even more creepy would be that he separated from Zafir's group to follow his prey on his own and is currently stalking Lindsay, his other intended victim, but I think that is highly unlikely.
and he is a submitted character. A creepy one, too, but you probably already knew that.
Yes, I guessed that much. He's definitely someone who likes to rape, if he is like the other two kidnapper-sonofabitches, but the creepy torture chairs in that backroom and your hints make me fear that he is much, much worse. Oh shit, oh no... thinking about it, Josie is definitely fucked regardless of what happens, at least as long as #3 is still around.
True, but I think he really lost it after loosing his mall. His interaction with Christian made this clear. No way he would listen to reason… more, especially since Atlanta, Ashley and Dan were also present. Josie is the only one who might get away, but since Zafir is a sadistic fuck he is probably going to punish her too just to hurt Jerry even more or just for fun.
Ashley seems to be ready to provide cover fire at least.
Depends if she has the gumption to do it. She could potential kill someone, which is something she's never done before. Though she knows her f… [view original content]

Whoa, that's creepy.
You know, I have the obvious solution.

Aye, I would, but some scurvy dog made off with me booty (eh... I tried)
Well, my town is a creepy place.
Yes. The answer to everything.
[a MYSTERY]
..PLEASE? ;--;
[Pirate Adventure for thee!]
Both are great ideas btw
[Pirate Adventure for thee!]
It seems likely ;P
Thank you, Fin. And luckily I can always use the runner-up for a story later down the road.
[A Mystery, please!] yesss
[A Mystery, please!]
the pirate adventure sounds pretty awesome too, especially since i've been hooked on Once Upon a Time.
I'm proud to introduce my new story! Welcome to Silicon! Enjoy your uninteresting stay!

Let's see... about 20 days since I last said anything here? And maybe a little more than a month since I last posted a part? Shit, I haven't keeping up appearances with this story, have I?
All in favor of a new part, say aye, and you can consider it coming soon.
Aye.'
Tis a pirate adventure you looking for laddie?
Aye!
To quote our lord and savior Loader Bot: 'Soon' lacks data. 'Soon' sucks.
Though in all seriousness, I'm excited
I had no clue you played TFTB Liquid.
Some other time, perhaps.
Loader Bot is the wisest bot there is. Soon does suck. Though it soon won't suck as much...
I do Probably my favourite Telltale game so far together with TWD Season 1
As it seems, people are still interested and I am delighted to inform you that the newest and long await part is nearly finished. Hold onto your butts.... this is going to get... eh, choice-y?
Chapter 3: “Sin” - Part 6 - Jerry Stewart

[Come out shooting your pistol at the sonofabitch (Zafir).]
No, no! Why are you and Liquid posting parts at the same time! I can't be first to both ahhhhhhh.
[Come out of hiding and surrender.]
Oh shit... Oh no, no, no... fucking sonofabitch got Josie! No, she mustn't die now! And since Zafir never gives empty threats, staying hidden is not an option. However, surrendering isn't an option either, because there was this little quote from earlier:
[Stay hidden and wait.]
It's alright. Jerry will be safe here. What if God forbid Sasha is that group? Do you know what she would do to Jerry? And Zafir is an asshole.
Hehehehh
Two things:
Loved these lines.
The fuck is 'diffidently'?
For a short period of time... yeah.
She probably isn't. But Sasha wouldn't take too kindly to someone threatening her man.
I've been using 'diffidently' instead of 'definitely' this whole time... shit... thanks for pointing it out though.

Great Chapter!!

Ah, I dont know I was torn between this and shooting him but I think shooting him could result in everyone's death, while Zafir will probably survive either way. I just hope that he wont execute Jerry and Josephine now.
