  • Yea Man of Steel was enjoyable. I mean, I'm not gonna watch it again, but I don't regret seeing it.

I kinda like The Dark Knight Rises more than The Dark Knight. I actually think TDK is a bit overrated honestly. :/

Who would you like to see join the Expendables 4 Cast?

Pierce Brosnan (My favorite Bond) has been confirmed and so has Hulk Hogan but I'm not sure with the whole racism controversy if he'll be kicked from the project or if that just means that it will be a while so by then the heat will be off him. Also, I'm wondering if Harrison Ford will be reprising his role from the third because he's my favorite actor. Other things I would like to see in the fourth is gorier action, the first two had it and as much as I liked the third, they went too "kid friendly" in terms of gore so we need a solid R rating and if they want to keep adding famous actors, they need to kill some people off or else things will be too crowded (As if they weren't with all the people at the end of the 3rd, some of them didn't even have that much screen time). So without anymore stuff, here's who I would like to see in someway in the 4th....

Keeanu Reeves (The Matrix Trilogy, John Wick)

    Alt text

Keeanu Reeves proved with "John Wick" that he still has it and can do some pretty good action, I would maybe like him in some type of Assassian role, good or bad.

Jackie Chan (Rush Hour series, Twin Dragons)

    Alt text

Martial Arts legend who even worked with Bruce Lee, I'm not sure what I would like to see him do but I just think it would be kewl for him to show up, He turned down a role in the 2nd and he was reportedly close to signing on to the 3rd but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

Liam Neeson (Taken trilogy, and a bunch of other stuff lol)

    Alt text

He's been in a lot but in recent years he's made A LOT of action movies so I think it would be awesome if he joined up. I would like to see him in a Chuck Norris type role from the 2nd or I would like to see him be a/the villain and instead if fighting Stallone, he ends up fighting Jason Statham or something.

Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black, The Fugitive)

    Alt text

Tommy Lee Jones isn't really the "action" type and I'm not saying I would want him in the action but I would want to see him in a Government Agent type role like how he was in The Fugitive, think it would be kewl if he was in this role but unlike the first 3 actors on this list, I'm not begging for him to show up but it was just an idea.

Those were just a few actors I was thinking of but who would you guys like to see in Expendables 4?

  • errrrr Expendables 4. :(

Sorry Saltlick, I know it seems like I'm shitting on the franchise a lot. Trust me, I don't hate it, but it's starting to get pretty tiring for me. But I'll answer your question.

One person that I think WOULD be cool to add is Iko Uwais. If you don't know him, he's from The Raid movie series. Possibly the craziest fucking action movies I've ever seen in my entire life! If you haven't seen them, then please do because it's so fucking intense. :)

  • Fight Club is one of my personal favorites, if you haven't checked it out already I would highly recommend it for its immense storytelling and as for the 2014 movies I think Whiplash was great

  • Yea that's fine. Robert De Niro does more or less play the gangster role a bit too much, but he's awesome as it. Plus, I love the gangster movie genre.

What is your full top 10 because I'd like to know. I'll edit mine and post it.

I've been wanting to review an action film, and I had just seen John Wick. It's one of the most memorable action movies I've ever seen. So now, I'll review it.

    John Wick review

    Alt text

John Wick came out in 2014, and it stars Keeanu Reeves and Willem Dafoe. The plot for this film is extremely simple. Basically it's a revenge story about a hitman named John Wick; taking on the biggest Russian douche-bags on earth after they steal his car and kill his dog. A dog that was important to him as it was the last remaining memento of his deceased wife. Just from that statement, I want these assholes dead. (and so does he). Not much for the story here. It's very standard, yet serviceable.

    - The Positives

I'm just gonna say right off the bat, John Wick has incredible action. Much like how The Raid focused on hand to hand combat, John Wick focuses on beautifully choreographed gun fights. It's fast paced, and jaw dropping. When you mention John Wick, people will most likely remember the night club scene, which is definitely the best scene in the entire movie. The character John Wick is a complete badass as he was portrayed well by Keeanu Reeves. Reeves is such a charismatic actor. Seriously though, he is not a force to be reckoned. He could snipe you from halfway across the street with a damn pistol. It's like headshot mania in this film because John Wick mainly kills with headshots! John Wick = Badass. However, the best thing about Wick's character is that he isn't invincible. He can get his ass beat from time to time, which makes him all the more credible as an action hero. Another really good performance was by Willem Dafoe, who played John Wick's ally. One more positive I have for the movie is its setting. It reminded me of this comic book/video game like world, and it felt very refreshing.

    - The Negatives

Although the action was great for a very large majority of the film, the ending scene wasn't. When it reached its end, the action fell flat. In a way, I got pretty bored because it seemed like they were trying a little too hard to look cool. Not only that, the film just ends. It was a little awkward, and an unsatisfactory way to end the movie. Kind of like Nightcrawler. The villain wasn't very compelling at all. He's a bland Russian mobster who is trying to protect his dumbass son from John Wick. As a matter of fact, it didn't seem like he would serve as a villain at first because he was so ashamed of his son for what he did to Wick. If anything, I feel like the mob boss' son would serve as a better villain as he was such a little shit.

Overall: I'd describe John Wick as an extremely fun video game. Kind of like Max Payne, except less dark. You have your great action set pieces, and a setting that feels like it belongs in a comic book. Funny enough, Max Payne's cutscenes are represented in a way that it resembles comic book panels. Basically, if you like great action, see the movie. If you like Keeanu Reeves and Willem Dafoe, then see the movie. That's pretty much it.

This review was short and sweet as there wasn't much to say about it. Not a detriment to the film in anyway though.

    Grade: B+

Next reviews coming next will be on The Raid series
