I understand several here have controversial opinions and I respect that they're so forthcoming with what they believe in even if I disagree so I ask that you understand mine. I don't like or would ever consider adoption under any circumstances. As a male only capable of spawning other males (been in my bloodline dating way back as my mother and father have each had 4 children all male) I would never contemplate adoption because I feel as though I would not be comfortable with a stranger living with me. I'm not it's real parent so why bother. The same thing goes with being a step father. I have no interest in being a fake dad if I want children I'll have them myself I want no part in raising another person's children I feel it's not my place and inappropriate to do so. If I was incapable of having a child and my partner was not I would rather them have a true born child by artificial insemination them rob them of ever having a true child. Again my apologies if I've offended anyone but it's just how I feel

Don't sweat it man, that's what this thread is for.

Adoption can be a great solution for people who can't have kids, but I think it would definitely be a bit of a challenge.

Black Ops 1 will always be my favorite.

  • You didn't offend anyone by saying that, that's how you feel about it, so nothing to worry about.

And I'm sure tons of other people feel the same way you do regarding adoption. If someone's going to adopt a child, they should be sure before doing so, cause not everyone may be able to deal with this situation. I would like to adopt kids someday, but I still have a lot of time to think about it. :P

  • I can understand where you're coming from with wanting to pass along your genetic line, and I might be more inclined to agree with you fully if I didn't have a friend who was raised by a step father. His actual father was never a good father, and after a lot of complications I won't go into, his mother divorced his father. Later his mother then got with the step father who raised my friend as if he was his own son, and has been a very positive influence in my friend's life. So, while I don't think you're wrong, I do think that adoption can be beneficial in cases such as this.

  • So how do you figure that heavy metal is only noise? Care to go into detail?

  • Yeah, it seems like it would work well. People have the right to offend, but they shouldn't have he right to do so on the public dime.

I think that this is a good idea. Prove that your income from tithes is improving your church and being used in a good and positive manner for your parish, or pay taxes. This is something I've often thought would do well in practice.

  • Of course, it's also true that the people going to the Westboro Baptist Church and paying the tithe have to know what the church is up to. I mean, it's not like they're hiding it. So anyone there is most likely a supporter of where the money is spent.

A bar I visited recently plays music of all types . And when it comes to heavy metal ,it's basically a bunch of screaming and head tossing .
And it's soooooooo loud. But to watch people attempt to dance to it is absolutely hilarious. I can't listen to it my ears may begin to bleed.
Calling it music is an insult to music.

  • I understand what you mean, to a degree. I think it would be a really rewarding experience to be the parent of a child from another country who might not be able to have the opportunity of a fulfilling life, but the challenges are definitely worth considering, especially when other people are involved. The child would probably go through life resenting themselves for being different, and others would resent you for not choosing to have children of your own. Still, I believe it's worth it. I wouldn't let something as trivial as skin colour affect my ability to be a good mother.

And when it comes to heavy metal ,let's really just a bunch of screaming.

I'm going to attribute this to confirmation bias or just generalization.

Otherwise, it seems that your checklist for determining if something is music is your ability to dance to it, and the level of volume which it is played at. I can't say I'm convinced.

Edit: I'm going to post a few of the most popular metal songs of all time, and assuming that you will listen to any of them, I want you, or anyone else that says metal is nothing but screaming, to tell me if they're nothing but screaming.

Absolutely. And besides, who cares what they want? If those turds wanna picket funerals they can pay their fair share to society and do so at their own expense.
