Men don't concern me.
Just because they're men, you don't concern yourself for them? You find stripper work condition so bad that yo… moreu want "these women to get some real work" yet men are no concern to you. Ya know, they're strong, they can take the objectifyisation, the dangers and the occasional innapropriate gropping but god forbid if a woman ever as to live that hell! If you're going to say you want a job banned, don't prime a group other another for the sole reason that they are not like you or that they generally have it worse (than it already is). It just discredits your opinion and could be assimilated as sexism in my humble opinion. I'm not trying to be mean, just stating my point of view so let's keep things civil for the sake of the thread. And just to be clear, I am a woman myself and also a feminist.
Now that's over with, moving on my personal view on strippers. Banning them won't solve the problem, it will make it wors… [view original content]
Because It's not how it use to be. There are staffing services all over the place . And also there are special employment services just for women with little to no job experience.
Get these women some real work
In what, fast food service? You must realize that most exotic dancers aren't exactly swimming in employment opportunities, no? It's a livelihood that puts food on the table, so why condemn it?
Because It's not how it use to be. There are staffing services all over the place . And also there are special employment services just for women with little to no job experience.
Actually stripping can bring in a lot of money. Not sure why you would want to kick them out of their chosen job. Because you don't want to do it? Because you don't find it tasteful?
I'm glad that's true, but there are many people now who'd like nothing more to have capitalism topple down and be no more. mainly in the form of grassroots movements.
So yes, I like capitalism, along with some some "socialist" systems that can complement it (eg universal health care).
So basically … moreyou want a Keynesian Economy? That's actually the dominant economic system worldwide, so I wouldn't call your opinion unpopular.
Another unpopular opinion, that is actually extremely unpopular.
Dr. Pepper is one of the most disgusting things I have ever had in my whole life. I would rather drink raw sewage.
* Telltale needs to stop producing more episodes for The Walking Dead.
* Anything R-18 is the funniest crap ever and I will never under… morestand how people can take it so seriously.
* I absolutely hate Coke and will only drink it as a last resort.
I used to dislike Batman, as a character and as a Comic series.
But the Nolan films gave me newfound respect for Batman/Bruce Wayne as a character, and I think very highly of the films. I just can't deny the trilogy's awesomeness.
* With the exception of Nolan's Batman trilogy, I have despised almost every superhero movie I've seen. (Avenger's and Guardians are two of … morethe worst imo)
* Ashley Williams is my favorite character in Mass Effect and Tali and Liara are my least (of characters I actually like).
* I hate dubstep, and similar genres of music where there is no treble to cover up the over blasting of super distorted bass. Literally, not figuratively, I literally get migraines when my friends play stuff like it.
* Legend of Korra is better than The Last Airbender.
* Adventure Time and Steven Universe are just terrible.
"Assault weapons" is a misnomer. The scary, black, 30-round-mag rifles you see in guns stores, don't have full-auto/burst-fire capability. They're no more dangerous than a 30-round-mag semi-auto hunting rifle. They just look scary, that's all.
Go figure, I'm getting real sick of mass shootings.
Gun owner here. Nobody is saying you can't have guns. Nobody in American politics i… mores naïve enough to belief that total disarmament is a practical or desirable aolution.
But clearly we do need sensible gun regulations. We need universal background checks, waiting periods and federal grants for smart gun technology. We need to repeal the laws that make firearm manufacturing the only industry that's exempt from consumer safety laws. In my opinion, we do not need an assault weapon ban.
Couldn't agree more. I have a custom Ruger 10/22 that would be considered an 'assault weapon' simply because it has a folding stock, a flash suppressor and a standard 25rd magazine. In spite of the fact that it's a glorified plinking rifle, it would be considered illegal under that ban.
Banning weapons on the basis of aesthetics and notoriety doesn't work. It didn't work in 1994 and it won't work today. The continued push for another ban does nothing but give the NRA an excuse to undermine sensible gun control reforms.

That's because semi-automatic longarms of any kind are exceedingly hard to get in Australia. My point is that "Assault rifles" (Not to be confused with real, select fire assault rifles) should be seen as hunting/sporting rifles simply in a different skin, they're no more dangerous than that.
And Australia has draconian, gun laws. This coming from a fellow Australian.
Not reading has become a point of pride for a lot of people. They brag about it. Ironically, you come across a lot of these people in college. It seems to be a millenial thing.
Ignorance of current events is a much older problem and I hear a lot of people (baby boomers and millenials alike) bragging and joking about how uneducated they are on current issues, claiming that 'ignorance is bliss'. In my opinion, it stems from the Cold War mentality of sticking your head in the sand and not concerning yourself with the government's actions.
You don't have to be completely caught up 100% with current events, but IMO being aware of the world around you is an important part of being a productive member of society.
Knowledge is my armor and my sword. It baffles me that so many people would choose to go through life unarmed.
I think Cluke, of Clenny, or whatever are alright, when the age gap is mitigated. I mean, why wouldn't it be? So many people bear utter disgust toward Cluke, it's as if it never occurred to them that the age gap is something that can be changed ( in your imagination, in fanfiction, etc).

A place where I can safely vent out unpopular opinions I've mostly bottled up to this point? Awesome!
The Iraq War was a mistake
Jerusalem should be a shared capital between Israel and Palestine
Olicity is overrated
Soldiers are not heroes (definition is subjective and panders to society's ego to emotionally glorify their actions) but merely natural resources controlled by the state, nothing more or less.
Not just a mistake, a crime against the American people, the people of Iraq and our allies. Still I think that's a pretty popular opinion these days.

I kind of agree. I think it's admirable to fight and risk injury or death for something you believe in, but I don't think the institution of war should be glorified in the way in currently is. Still I think that acts of sacrifice, courage and determination should be celebrated; whether big or small.

Nasty place . The Pink Slip located in East St Louis Mo. AkA an HIV breeding ground . A Family member of mine danced there and she was only 15 at the time. And there are places much worse than this,

Ok
And I respect your opinion on it.

Fair enough, but what right do we have to condemn their career choice? Why is it the government's place to shut down strip clubs?
I'm glad you do, I myself respect yours despite disagreeing with it. Also, thanks for staying civil ^^ It's rare these days on internet.

I don't like coca-cola or any coke-like soda drink. My fav fizzy drink is Mountain Dew.
The Walking Dead is too sad, way too many deaths left, right, centre, some just for shock value -_-
I wish S3 will have a bit more hopeful tone, but from how they handled S2, my hopes aren't very high.
Imagine being able to downvote. Even better, being able to see who downvoted you.

Apparently not reading and being ignorant of current events is in style these days.

Why? Are you concerned with their safety, or do you think it's degrading?
Feminism's goals are noble, but they're not doing it the right way. Being critical of feminism doesn't mean being anti equality.

Still has a hell of a lot more capable of pulling off a massacre than any of the hunting rifles available here (Australia).
I am curious about your point, if you would not mind to elaborate why you think this is.
True, but you guys aren't allowed to own semi-automatic hunting rifles. Whereas we are, and they're quite common among varmint and small-game hunters

As an American, your Port Arthur crackdown surprises me because it seems like Australia had a pretty strong gun culture.
Adding one more: suicide should be a human right.
Both. Most clubs are really nasty. And half of the girls are underage .

An unjust peace is almost always better than a just war.
Anecdotes are not evidence.
An unjust peace often leads to an even more unjust war.
You're in good company. Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan felt the same way.

No doubt there are some nasty strip joints that violate the law. My issue is with the claim you made with no evidence.

At least that's how I see it.
Or it leads to the preservation of dialogue between the opposing sides, and incremental improvement of relations over time.
