My guess is Rhys and Fiona successfully opening the Vault and defeating its guardian was a sort of "test," and the Eridian Guardian from the ending of TPS teleported them somewhere because of the whole "war is coming/gather all the hunters you can" deal.
Considering you can finally choose Rhyiona or Rhysha Its unfair to say that "Rhysha was lead" in the episode, in the end we both got what we want, and anyone who honestly thought Rhack was gonna work...
