Well...I guess this is unrelated but for the hell of it- Which trailers were shown in your theater before the movie started?
For me, some Pixar movie and the Captain America: Civil War trailers were shown.
It is funny. It only took about six minutes (Actually more like the moment they met) for me to care and feel the bond and friendship that had been established between Finn and Poe than I did with the six hours with Anakin and Obi-Wan.
Great movie. Great characters, humour, banter, everything really.
It was funny how it only took about ten minutes for me to realize this … morewas a lot better than the prequels. It was when Poe and Finn were fleeing the First Order and they immediately and naturally formed a bromance - something the prequels couldn't do in three goddamn movies. :S
I watched it a few hours ago and I definetly loved it. It did feel like A New Hope, but it had scenes which were more interesting things than the first movie. BB-8 was such an interesting robot, it feels like the new R2-D2, he is funny, cute and not annoying like C-3PO or Jar Jar Binks. I can't decide between him and R2. I reacted a lot when they brought references and characters from the original triology, the actors who played Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, R2 and C-3PO were still able to play their characters again in the new movie, it surprised me. My most WTF moment in the film is Han Solo's death. None of the deaths in Star Wars franchise affected me that much but this one, probably the saddest because Han Solo has been known since 1977 and he was killed by his own son, I think this is a reference to the Prequel triology, which is Anakin killing his wife Padme who failed to convince him to turn back from the dark side.
So far, this is my second favourite Star Wars movie (My most favourite is Revenge of the Sith), this film is rated 9.5/10 from me.
Holy shit, I saw it today! I've only seen a bit of another Star Wars movie, but I very much enjoyed this one. I got free tickets through my orthodontist.

I really wished J.J. would've taken the reigns on this whole trilogy. I'd be okay with Rian Johnson doing a movie of course, but my problem's with Colin Trevorrow, who's slated to do Episode IX.
I did enjoy Jurassic World a lot, but that was simply a summer blockbuster. Only one moment I can recall stood out to me as something to REALLY be remembered. I guess I just have to hope that he'll keep the depth that Abrams has started out so strongly with.
To be fair, Colin Trevorrow isn't writing Episode IX and many of the same people who worked on The Force Awakens will no doubt work on the film as well. Also sometimes seemingly not so good directors can make good movies if they just have the right script, writers and producers to help them. The example I would like to mention is Ant-Man. There were a lot of production problems in the movie and one of them is that they were forced to change director when the previous director Edgar Wright left the project. Peyton Reed became the director, who isn't exactly known for making movies that are well received, yet he did a great job considering he have to reshoot a lot of the scene and handle the action scenes greatly.
Or maybe a better example, Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn, who made movies like Scooby Doo and other bunch of wacky strange movies, yet Guardian of the Galaxy was unexpectedly excellent.
So yeah until the trailer for Episode IX comes out, we should just hope for the best. Who knows, a lot of stuff can happen in these next four years. Maybe change of director, more writers joins the team and etc.

Anyone not really register what was going on in Han's death scene until Chewie's roar? I was kind of in disbelief until then.
Honestly that's what hit hardest. Poor Chewie, it's gonna be weird seeing just him now, it's difficult imagining one without the other. It's cool that he's Rey's buddy now at least.
I knew it was gonna happen for sure when he yelled "BEN!" And before I even saw it, Han was the one everyone was saying would probably die...
I was hoping they would either kill Chewie and Han together or just kill Chewie in Epsiode 7. Call me a whiney brat for saying this but I consider "The Force Awakens" a glorified uncanon fanfic- not trying to bitch here but that's just how I feel

Well...saying it's better than anything he could "muster" might be stretch since it took a lot from the previous ones but I guess I understand what you and other people who liked this mean though. However you feel bruh

Agreed. It's also interesting to see a none force user use the lightsaber, you could tell the saber was out Finn's control. the way he swing it like a bat.

I'm also a big fan of Kylo Ren. He's different than just a stoic bad guy, and while those are cool, that's most of what we've seen in the saga. But now we got this guy who gets angry and thrashes all over and destroys everything in a temper tantrum.
Agreed he is a good runner. His character is taken out commination through, so I really want to see more of his character in the next film honestly. Finn and Hand Solo were main reasons why I laugh watched this film, through it was mainly Finn, I want to see more where his character goes.
Well as the villains go, they do horrible things and normally the watcher/s of the film can't relate to them. But a great villain is where you can see why they do the things they do, or in some way relate to them. Humanise the villains so to speak otherwise you would jusrt root for the good to kill or get away from the bad guys. whitch is great but you seeing the film one side the good guys point of view and that's it.
but as star wars 7 goes and the way Kylo Ren was set up, he hasn't been a bad guy as long as Darth Vader, he isn't a master of his craft - not the lightsaber or the force. And his face, while he got beat up at the end of the film he doesn't show the signs of the Dark Side, what I mean by that is he doesn't have yellow eyes or other traits that the dark side twist him, but if he shows those things in the upcoming films, like in next film he is better trained and has yellow eyes then that's fantastic. That is villain progress right there. Heros and the good guys get story arcs, there is no rule against villains not getting a story arc. If the next film show stuff like this Kylo Ren will be a character that is worth remembering.

Stormtroppers are an odd bunch. On one moment they can seem like idiots, weaklings and non-threatening. The next moment, they can be super badass and threatening.
Just seen it yesterday and loved it. The reunions brought a smile to my face. The new cast of character's intros were superb. The pacing felt good, nothing really slowed the movie down. I did not enjoy the prequels at all, but this time around they got rid of all that little kid crap, Jar Jar Binks, and lame political bull spit. I hate to compare these movies, but since this is one long series wth. A good intro and step in the right direction.
I loved this movie, amazing to see the old characters again, but omg the new characters are just the best! - Can't wait to go again.
John Boyega (Finn) is a very interesting and funny witty character.
Daisy Ridley (Rey) is a very strong character and now we know shes force sensitive! "There has been an awakening"
Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) is a complex and conflicted villain with an interesting past in which i wish to find more about.
Oscar Issac (Poe Dameron) amazing pilot and all round good guy character - Finn & Poe bromace forming!
We know rey is already a skilled pilot and good fighter so she was clearly going to give Kylo a run for his money - Also he's been injured and hasn't completed his training and probably hasn't had a trial like this before - Inexperienced.
Plus I was also expecting Luke to appear before the fight especially when Anakin's/Luke's original Lightsaber was in the snow, but turned out to be Rey, which tbh is more awesome because we have a new hero! A new Jedi!
"It's me C-3P0, you probably don't recognise me, with the red arm and all!" - something along those lines
R.I.P - Han Solo, I knew i'd be you. Or Harrison Ford would not have been back to do this movie I believe.

Great movie! Even though I felt it was for fan service purposes, it had a great story and they clearly thought out the story well. It's been ages since I've seen Star Wars lol
At first I thought he'd be another Vader, turned out that was on purpose and the character wants to be like Vader but he's not. Seeing him lose his cool so easily sets him apart from Vader. He's like an angsty teen going trying to be something he's not and temper fits when things doesn't go his way. Everything about his character was interesting and had a strong start.

Stormtroopers actually having moments of kicking ass was something I didn't expect. And I love it! There's definitely a lot more character to the Stormtroopers in this movie than what I remember in the older ones.

I just came back from the cinemas with my mum. and we both enjoyed it. Granted, we don't see much of Star Wars as a whole, but Episode 7 is a good motivation to start watching the classics again.
I loved this movie. I had been a huge fan of Star Wars for a long time and I am proud to say it is 9/10. The best thing about the movie is, well of course Rey! She is awesome!

Obi-Wan did treat Anakin as his own brother, said in Episode 3

Civil War, The Revenant and The Finest Hours are the ones I can remember. May have been Batman v Superman as well.
The latest Hunger Games for me.
I guess you're right! If it weren't for writers and editors and advisers to George Lucas, who knows what the original trilogy would've been?
I was kind of disappointed. The movie feels like a reboot or remake of Episode 4. And this is coming from someone who loved the Prequels.
Just saw it and thought it was amazing, very well done
Civil War stood out to me the most.

A glorified fanfic that's a lot better than what Lucas could ever muster out on his own. I for one welcome our new glorified uncanon.
Well...saying it's better than anything he could "muster" might be stretch since it took a lot from the previous ones but I guess I understand what you and other people who liked this mean though. However you feel bruh
I got kids movies show up like Kungfu Panda 3 , Zootopia(hilarious trailer btw), and the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts.
Yes I have, and I love it. I really want to see it again. I really love Kylo Ren and Finn's character
I loved it when the stormtrooper and Finn prepared for battle. While it was short, it looked epic.
Agreed. It's also interesting to see a none force user use the lightsaber, you could tell the saber was out Finn's control. the way he swing it like a bat.
He knows how to hustle though, so I could give him that.
I'm also a big fan of Kylo Ren. He's different than just a stoic bad guy, and while those are cool, that's most of what we've seen in the saga. But now we got this guy who gets angry and thrashes all over and destroys everything in a temper tantrum.

Sith uses anger as fuel, so he got that going with him. However he lacks self-control outside of combat to suppress it.
Even Sith keeps their feelings under control like Jedi most of the time but nobody taught him that it seems.

Oh yeah, thank you JJ Abram and the other writers for taking away those bloody politic talk.
I actually hope that they make an Order 66 movie sometime after Episode 9, I'd like to see the Clones who chose not to kill their Jedi.
