Canada. Our home and native land. No, not really. I love my country and all but it has its flaws, it is certainly not the best country, people who don't live here think it's paradise where everything is great and everyone is really nice and says eh. But if I had to pick one country that is the best, I'd say Great Britain.

  • Canada is my favorite country.

Mainly because everything is great there, and it has nice people that always say 'eh.'

  • I thought I heard somewhere that Eskimo is a derogatory word.

Canada. You can always respond your boss; fu** yourself, then go somewhere north and hug trees with Eskimos.

  • It's not derogatory at all! If one wanted to be politically correct then maybe we'd say Inuit? Unless that's just a single group.

  • My father's friend went out to Bhutan and brought back cloths used in ritual (The hanging colored square sheets that you see in the movies)! Apparently they got their first computer in 2010 or something!

Bhutan! Knowing next to nothing about the country makes it very easy not to dislike it.

  • Well, if we talk honestly, I don't consider it an annexation. 95% of Crimean people voted to join our country and I don't see any problem why they can't do that.

May I ask a honest question? I'm kind of curious, what our your thoughts on the annexation of Crimea? It be interesting to hear a Russian's viewpoint to it.

  • I personally don't think there a 'greatest country', each one has it's own problem so until I learn at least a bit about every country I can't really say. Although I do have favorite countries :p

  • And do you think this 95% is true?

Well, if we talk honestly, I don't consider it an annexation. 95% of Crimean people voted to join our country and I don't see any problem why they can't do that.

  • 95% seems an incredibly unlikely figure for a vote.

  • Idk, but I know some people from Crimea and they've all voted for it. Or when I surf Russian Internet, I see Crimean people that are glad about it.

But yeah, I know that not all people are amused with this, but it's impossible to make everyone happy.

But either way, I consider it a positive decision. Our country isn't as evil as some people might say.

  • Canada or Australia imo.

America is only aesthetically pleasing to me, not much else.

  • Most of the once great western nations are now controlled by governments that are intentionally destroying their sovereignty and culture in the name of globalism. The west destabilized countries knowing our actions would result in a violent power struggle, but our intent was to do exactly that because they wanted a massive influx of cheap slave labor regardless of the cost. Then they label opponents as uncaring racist, and manipulate surrogates into advocating for their agenda. While those psychopaths preach to us, and attempt to manipulate us into destroying ourselves, they are living in their own elitist society guarded by walls and heavily armed security. I can't see counties that are governed like that as great. These governments have lied and manipulated their people, and a lot of people are starting to understand that, but it's not going to be easy to change; if it can be changed at this point.

The 80% of participation put some doubts aswell.
I think I saw somewhere that the international organisations were not allowed to survey the vote.

Then it could be my country who make propaganda aswell, but I really want to have the opinion of a russian on the subject.

Reminds me of last election when Putin got 107% of the vote in some places. :/

Also, it was by definition, an invasion and annexation. Military force was used to seize Ukrainian sovereignty territory.

  • Well, I already expressed my opinion. You can ask some other Russians, they might have a different opinion.

Yeah, limiting democracy by using loopholes to continue to run for election :P

They seem to be doing well for themselves and Putin seems to actually know what he is doing. Of course I don't really know since I am not Russian and don't pay attention to its politics.

I'd probably say Sweden or Holland. Their education system is wonderful and this trickles down into every aspect of their culture, they're progressive and they're relatively peaceful.

Here's one article. If you look up Putin electro fraud you'll find more.

I doubt it's the only reason he won, since Putin is rather well liked, but it certainly raises questions.

  • Might be related, might be not. The web brigades isn't a very bad thing after all, I'm pretty sure things like these exist all over the world. There are some other communities in the Russian Internet that give a different view on a situation and criticize Putin and his politics. In some cases I actually agree with them. Our president also has done big flaws.

  • Interesting. Yeah, I know that there are some questions with our elections but I don't know much since I'm too young to vote yet.

Though I don't know any people who don't vote for Putin. Mainly because there is no real opposition in our country - they either act like clowns, just criticize everything without giving any alternatives or no one even pays attention to them.

Probably a bad thing, I guess.

That's where the Lord of the Rings was filmed!

    (Love my Canada though c:)

  • This topic is going smoother than I expected. I'll go with Switzerland. Limited war history, low crime rate for the most part and absolutely stunning aesthetically.
