Fingers crossed it's successful. Erdogan is a coward and bully who would rather kill Kurds than stand up to ISIS. He needs to stand trial for aiding them.

Likely not. A Turkish Nationalist State may follow. May not see the return of democracy for a long time. Turkish Nationalist do not like the fact Russia is Meddling so close to it's borders, and have always been opposed to Russia for decades. Russia has been one of Turkey's biggest military threats and they've been defacto enemies since long before the Crimean War.

Now that being said what would be the definition of a Nationalist Turkey though? Definitely not a Islamic State. But likely one that will up hold it's constitution hopefully.

Hence why Coups must happen quickly. Take control of communication, and government buildings before anyone has a chance to react. As for example, you never know how loyal your own soldiers may be during a coup. The longer it takes the more uncertain your men may become, this includes officers. Then the more likely some of your own troops may turn against the coup. This can quickly lead to Civil War. Civil Unrest by civilians is often less of a problem, unless some outside force supplies them with weapons, so unless members of the military turn against the military itself if the coup becomes unsuccessful there shouldn't be too many worries to Civil War. UNLESS an outside power encourages the local population to rebel against the Coup, say Turkey's president, but for that to happen someone also has to supply them with weapons, as sticks/stones vs tanks and rifles doesn't work out very well.

This is why the Syrian civil war has become such a problem. Outside forces coughs USA/Russia/Turkey, have fed/fueled the war. Then ISIS showed up. If people just left it alone the Syrian civil war could of been over in a few weeks or a few months. End of story. It isn't always a good idea to try to over throw dictators by giving civilians lots of weapons to rebel against that dictator with. Syria is a perfect example of what happens. Warsaw uprising in late 1944 is another example, but in the opposite light, it ended in a few months, because no one was supplying the Poles. Even when the Russians were right across the river, they didn't give the Poles assistance, and the Germans were able to Crush the Polish Resistance in what is the only major battle of WWII fought by Resistance fighters.

Also men's fashion is not a big thing there outside of wearing "formal" wear.

Operation was a failure. British were relatively successful, but suffered considerable loses in the process because the pilots actually tried to locate Polish positions before dropping. American attempts ended up supplying the Germans instead as Americans just came in said "bleep this" and dropped wherever. Russian attempt ended up being supplies free falling without parachutes as Soviets didn't think it was necessary.

As I said, the Poles in Warsaw saw almost no supplies and relief from outside. Allies were too far away, and the Soviets just leaned back in arm chairs enjoying the fire works as less Polish Resistance for them to deal with later when they take over.

Issue is in the end the Poles in Warsaw ran out of weapons, ammunition and had no reliable source of food either. They were cut off, surrounding, forced back into ever smaller pockets, until surrender. It's an example of a Civilian Army poorly equipped with no supply from the outside world, against a modern army that has artillery, tanks, and compared to the Poles during the battle seemingly limitless supplies. Most of the weapons the Poles had they stole prior to the battle, and during the battle itself. They even managed to capture a single tank. But that wasn't enough, not by a land slide.

Well the coup failed. I am of a mixed mind. On one hand, I'm pissed that Gollum is still in power. On the other hand, the military acted in a truly disgraceful manner by bombing parliament and gunning down protestors. Either option would've likely led to dark times.
