Dogs
I've had a Weiner dog for the last ten years, so I'm pretty biased. I know some animals have defining traits, but it varies from dog to dog and cat to cat. So uh, my dog is why I prefer dogs pretty much by default. I've met multiple other dogs with different personalities, but I have double-bias!
So, if any cares, my dog is pretty awesome! Mainly because he's like the freak of all dogs. He's a pervert, and has this designated blanket that he'll dig up from behind this couch to uh...do things. It's annoying when he comes after you with that blanket, but it's also kind of hilarious. He gets this demented, perverted smirk and starts panting like it's a mating call or something. That's the only way I can describe it. He also doesn't take well too most dogs. He's kind of afraid of them. However, there was one dog he loved.
I can sum this up in one sentence: My dog is gay. My weiner and this certain other dog got along really well. The other dog would pee somewhere, and my dog would follow in his trail, peeing in the same spot. They'd (there's no pleasing way to put this) would uh...hump each other, which was hilarious because the other dog was four times larger than my dog. He's never loved another dog since the other's unfortunate passing.
He's also loyal, playful, extremely loving and affectionate, and likes to cuddle, which is a plus. He looks kind of chubby, although the vet says that he's fine weight-wise and health-wise. We always referred to him as voluptuous, and then one day I discovered this odd R and B song called "Voluptuous." Whenever you play it, he starts insanely licking you or stands on his hind legs and flips his arms up and down as a little dance.
He also always has to be the center of attention, and would get comically jealous when I was little and playing with a doll or something. He'd push his way between me and toy so i had no choice but to look at him.
Our entire family is kind of like a cult, with him being the leader. Because we're freaks, we sometimes gather around him in a circle and chant in an ominous, monotone voice, "The Weiner of Love." He goes around the circle taking turns licking each party. I do realize that that sounds incredibly strange, but hey, we're easily entertained.
If you haven't gathered yet, our dog was not trained very well in some aspects. That was mainly due to circumstance, but man that little untrained asshole is amazing. It's scary that he's already a decade old though. I love that guy to pieces, and his weirdness makes it better. Sorry for making this so long.
Cats for me honestly. Dogs are annoying, and they smell bad without regular bathing. If you feed cats the right food you don't have to worry about throw up and hair balls, before anyone brings that into the fray.
Cats are cute, quiet, cuddly, soft, and just down right adorable. I do admire dog's sense of obedience, but often the irritating aspects of dogs just drive me mad. Smell top among them all. I can smell a dog 5 foot away, and it bugs me so bloody much. Second among the worst, is their over zealous to greet visitors or try to scare off visitors. lol
I much prefer dogs, i find them much easier to get along with and i really enjoy spending time with them.
As much as my username suggests, I like cats better. Dogs just all around hate me. They throw their snot on me then run, growl at me, even try to bite me. So I think our feelings are mutual. My cats usually just hop up on me then nap, so
That's exactly the many reasons I like cats more, but dogs are loyal to their owners and protect you.

Cats...though there have been some cool dogs in my life. My brother got mom and dad to let him get a puppy from a friend...turns out that was a German Shepard mixed with direwolf because he was huge...but so darn lovable...and he loved our cats...one of them would sleep in his dog house with him. My brother named him Rambo. Such a good dog...miss him.
The feels
I personally prefer dogs. Not that I'll ever be able to have one untill I get a house of my own, since my mum is super allergic to anything furry ;(
Dogs because they're are loyal and cute as fuck. While, Cats are some sneaky bastards.
Dogs.
Cats
Dogs are way cuter than cats imo.
I love them both equally.
I have had three pet cats before, but I've never had a pet dog. I love being around both of them.
Dogs. Cats always make me uncomfortable. I can't even handle them looking at me... I guess I'm a pussy then.
Dogs by a large amount. Though I do like cats.
Dogs. I could spend hours looking at pictures of cute dogs.
I can't trust cats. Too sly, like they're always planning someway to off you. One minute its purring and cuddling up next to you, the next it's viciously scraping your eyeball out of your face just cause you looked at it funny.
Dogs.
Why not both?
I have a chihuahua. It's dumb, fat, lazy and useless.
But I love it so much❤️
Though I've never owned a dog, I would have loved to adopt one if I could.
That being said, I'd still keep a cat if possible.
So, why not both?
This thread isn't what would you want to adopt but what you prefer mostly
Yeah, I like both too but as this thread says it's not what's better or worse, it's what you would've preferred.
Dogs because my two baby boys are dogs after all. Caligula and Agrippa soo cute!!
I would like a tabby cat though, I'd name him Octavius.
I don't really have a preference for either animal, I like them equally.
I just never had a dog in the family before, we've always had cats, hamsters (just once though, since my mum were terrified of them), or goldfish.
Then I suppose cats? I still love dogs too! Although maybe Giraffes.
I love them both. I was a dog person for the longest time while taking care of my little half breed (half chihuahua & half pekingese) who I had until she was almost 18. Now I have two cats, and taking care of them has made me also have a soft spot for felines as well.
When I was really young we had a dog; she gave birth to three puppies and our parents wanted to give one to the girl of a friend of my father. The day coming, we hid our favorite puppy so the family who came here won't choose it.
Dunno why and how, the puppy we loved the more came where they were and by natural reflex I took it in my arms. The bitch obviously chose this one and didn't want to take any of the others two.
One year or two "her" dog was hit by a car, GG.
Now to respond the question, I'm both, but I don't have the time/money/will to take care of one yet.
i grew up with dogs but i am starting to like cats but i still dont understand their moods
Catdog?
That's... Harsh.
Cats
oh wow i remember that from my childhood.
I like both. But I like dogs a little better because they usually greet you at the door whenever you get home from school or work. Cats usually just lie there all like, "Fucking feed me already, you lazy-ass prick."
I still remember the two parter where they were trying to find out where they came from
Cats ftw. My kitty is perched on my lap as I am writing this comment. Dog lovers need to be rehabilitated.
Dogs, of course.
Though I do like cats, as well and I'd like to have one, too.
I love both but I'm allergic to both through different means. ;_; The cat's fur/dandruff causes me to sneeze very badly and when the dogs lick a ton on, for example, my face I start to swell in the repeatedly licked areas. Yup...
