What was your introduction to Anime?
For me it was Robotech and Battle of the Planets(G-Force) Robotech was the combination of three different shows to make a 65 episode series. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Super Dimensional Calvary Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA.
What were your first?

NARUTO!
Black Lagoon. So far it's also the only anime I've ever actually watched. Though, I'm interested in watching Monster at some point.
I needed a reason to kill myself, so i watched Bleach.
Its something ive always been aware of I live in a city with a lot of high quality graffiti and anime is a common subject matter in graff, my older sister gave me some of her original hello kitty things my bros liked things like akira and fist of the north star, I was the perfect age for gen 1 pokemon and I remember seeing my neighbour totoro when I was about 5 so its just something I grew up with, anime has got worse over the years imho
Edit oh shit I almost forgot about transformers that was very popular every kid had transformer toys. Dragon ball was big as well in the uk
Bakugan. That was a real show right? It was so long ago I remember nothing about it. It was a show on cartoon network and that was all I watched as a kid. Looks pretty shit now that I look back at it.
Pokemon as i watched it alot when I was a kid, due to the release of it coincide with me growing up
Guilty Crown.
Dragon Ball Z, it was on a kid's channel around the late 90s and early 2000s.
I guess Kiki's Delivery Service, although I didn't really watch more until a while later.
Dragon Ball Z.
My friend recommended Fruits Basket so I gave it a try. It wasn't that bad, but anime really isn't my thing.
Sailor fookin' Moon, biatch.
And no, I'm not kidding, that was the first anime I've ever watched/seen.
My oldest brother was a weeaboo.
Naruto.
Beyblade: Metal Fusion... I still have a box full of those tops.
Highschool dxd. I watched a few episodes and I can easily say that me and anime are officially over.
To Anime in general: My Neighbour Totoro
To Anime Tv Series: Sailor Moon.
...Yeah.
Dragon Ball (not Z)
Gatchaman
Speed Racer
Ronin Warriors
I'm not exactly sure which one of those was the absolute first I saw but. I do remember them from when I was a child.
Though to be 100% honest. It was this.
That being said I didn't know what anime was until the late 90s so.... like I even knew better at the time, I mean the only way to find out at that time was AOL if you had it. Robotech (Macross) and Sailor Moon on Toonami really woke me up to anime itself as being "Foreign" animations from Japan. Sailor Moon definitely as I was like "WTF no one dresses like that in school." lol
Robotech was easily my first passion though. Before it, I never seen anything like it ever. I think that was like 1997 or something like that when it was on cartoon network. It didn't take until 2001 until an anime was on TV that I honestly thought literally topped it. I still have a DVD set of the first 36 Episodes of Robotech the Macross Part of it, and to me the only part worth remembering. hehe
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Well, my sister was watching One Punch Man and it was pretty funny when I watched it with her and I just started watching it with her. It made our relationship more connected.
Probably Pokemon as a kid. But Howl's Moving Castle is when I started to appreciate it.
I don't watch it much nowadays though, I pretty much only like Ghibli films.
Cardfight Vanguard
Pokemon, but I wasn't aware of many other anime(s) since I was young.
But Tokyo Ghoul was when I started liking anime in general, honestly.
I did watch a bit of Guilty Crown before, though, but I found it uninteresting around episode 6, to be honest.
I didn't make it past episode 2 lol. Boring as hell.
Yeah, it really got boring for me. Couldn't even stand watching it.
To be honest, at first I thought it was weird that it was getting so much hate, from my point of view, at least.
Now I see why it does and honestly, I think the hate is kinda justified.
DragonBall Z!!
Same thing here, my oldest Brother and 2 of my best friends were huge weebs, so I ended up watching some animes I actually like, though for someone that grew up with old school console games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy and Tactics Ogre there's a lot of overlap anyway.
In any case, they made me watch Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo and Gurren Laggan along with some shit I didn't like so I ended up liking a lot of anime too, though I don't watch as much as they do.
vry good anime
GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!!!!
Dragon Ball Z.
i just watched whatever was on TV - I think it was either Naruto or Dragon Ball or even Pokemon.
Before we had to cut off Foxtel (since it is expensive), many years ago - 8, I believe I was - on Nickelodeon, was Avatar: the Last Airbender. I watched it for a while as it ran (a year, I believe?).
Five years ago, on ABC 3, they had three animes running at night before broadcasting hours ceased at 9:00 PM. One was K-On (didn't watch), another of which I cannot remember and the one I did watch being Vampire Knight. For a shōjo, I found it enjoyable. It was then that I became interested in what else there was.
I tend to enjoy darker, grittier stories with a serious tone, so from there, I started to watch Hellsing (the first TV series) and the rest is history.
Avatar is not an anime
Speed Racer (Mach GoGoGo in Jp) is the first anime I recall watching as a kid before I knew what exactly anime was.
Just because it is not Japanese does not make it not Anime. The term anime refers not wholly to shows from Japan with this style of animation in western terminology, but also the style itself.
While it may not be (for a lack of a better term) pure-blooded anime, it is still anime in that regard.
Dragon Ball
Can't remember for sure. Probably either Darker Than Black or Deadman Wonderland.
same here naruto
Astro Boy, then Speed Racer, then Samarai Pizza Cats.
Apparently, Astro Boy WAS one of the first anime. Didn't know that. I did know that I was well out of watching anime when the term ventured over to our side of the pond.
If you haven't heard of the last one I mentioned... You're welcome.
