Sick and tired of Telltale trying to sell me a blank disc.
Saw that episode 5 of the new Walking Dead series had an announcement date.
Went to check the news of a physical release, and lo and behold it's already out.....with ONE episode on the disc.
All the rest you have to download. We don't buy discs for digital downloads Telltale, you're getting it backwards.
Not including one chapter on Game of Thrones was bad enough, but now you're practically selling us a blank disc.
Fix this, adapt your business model or you will continue to lose customers like me.

I don't get why people get upset with this they usually start selling the disc when only the first episode is out. Let's say you bought a season pass for the dlc of a new call of duty game then on launch for one of the dlc you would be complaining that it did not automatically download for you. I don't see what the big deal is having to move your finger to press the download button. Because the download process only takes like 5 minutes.
For you. Not everyone has really great internet. People have different bandwidths, download caps, speed, etc. Some underage users on here are limited in their internet time. Those who don't have really good internet could sometimes wait 30-60 minutes for a download of an episode. Things are much better, easier, and faster if everything you need in on the disc itself, and the console/PC just needs to rip it out from there instead of the Internet Ether.
While I don't buy the discs, I also wonder why Telltale has switched to the "Get disc, Get EP1, download EP2-5." format of sale. They should have kept it as a normal Everything on 1 disc thing.
You must have hella good internet then because for me it usually takes 45 minutes to an hour.
Where I am it usually takes an hour to two and a half hours for an episode of a Telltale game to download for me on PC.
My internet is literally a potatoe hooked up to a battery and it takes me 5 minutes to download episodes
The reason people buy discs is so they can own the content. Not so they can have a passcode and wait for it to download.
They want to play it all at once, not have to wait for everything.
How is that difficult to understand?
But even if you buy it digitally you have to wait???
Well your "potatoe" contraption must have much higher power than my potato internet...
Its awful imo. Telltale should just release a physical copy once all the episodes of the season are out so there's no download needed.
It makes no sense.
Imagine if TV Shows did that. You buy a new season of a TV show before it's finished but you only get the first episode and have to wait for the rest as they come out.
LOL

Or... you just go with the flow of time and get used to the digital age? Download is the way tons of things already work and it will even increase much more in the near future. I pay 20 bucks a month for internet and usually download a new episode within 15 minutes.
It's sad that this isn't global standard.
Digital download is fine for PC but it's very imperfect for consoles.
Sorry, not everybody believes digital download is a perfect system and it seriously isn't.
My potato contraption has the power of a God, son. Best type of Internet on the market... Yerp.
I don't know about Xbox but it really is not imperfect on PS4 or PS3 for that matter. Either you start Ps Store or you start the game and click the episode you want to download, wait a couple seconds and then download. For me the download time takes no longer than 20 minutes, and trust me, I do not have good internet.
It's relative to the console but it would still be a stupid idea to get rid of physical discs.
Digital download only has merit if your machine works or if you have decent internet.
With a physical disc, you don't have to worry about either of those things.
Food for thought:
Something like 90-95% of a game's sales are within the first 6 months of release.
Figure that in with Telltale's model of releasing episode by episode over a period of about that same time.
How many people are going to wait until the last episode releases to buy the game?
What is the cost of producing, advertising and shipping out physical discs?
If it came out fairly profitable, I doubt they would have stopped.
I rather liked the old season ending discs, but I do see how obsolete it is with the Telltale release schedule.
Takes literally 2 minutes for me. I have a pretty normal internet.
The point is we wait and buy the entire game on the disc. We can play it all at once and we can have a physical copy. And it means we don't have to wait for each episode to come out.
Doesn't matter. It's not the point.
Giving people a choice is a better option. Stop forcing people to try and like what you do. That's wrong.
Digital download is perfectly fine on PS4 as well. Don't know about XBox One tho.
Why do you think it isn't a perfect system?
Download only has advantages. You don't have to travel to your next shop and buy a game there. You aren't limited to business hours either. Download is also less expensive than the disk variant. Unlike a disk, it can't be sold out either. And the game can never be damaged unlike a disk. One scratch and the disk is useless.
You all have a choice, I'm not forcing anyone. You could also still live in a cave, hunt your meals with sticks and rocks, it's all your choice.
If you're going to be a condescending jerk, don't bother replying.
How is that being a jerk? It's just how it is.
Why does everyone have such a thin skin in 2017, it's annoying as fuq. Really.
If your console or your internet isn't working properly then say goodbye to that digital download and you'll have to buy it again when you get a new console.
Physical disc don't have this risk as you can keep them as long you want without having to worry about buying them again online if your console isn't working.
The price varies with both physical and digital.
I don't have a vendetta against digital download but if I want to keep a game for a long time I would go with physical and I've had a good number of scratches on my disks and they've worked fine.
Digital is really more of a temporary solution rather than an infinite one.
No, you're being arrogant with your "high and mighty" standards and blantantly mocked someone by tellling them they could live as a caveman rather than "sticking to the times."
People have thick skin to call out your condescension.
Please what? No. xD
When you purchase a game online, it is tied to your account. Grab a new console or a new PC, log into your existing account and simply re-download the games. You only have to buy a game more than once when the physical disk is damaged.
Also, in order to recieve patches and other updates (which applies to every single game nowadays), you NEED an intact internet-connection anyway.
The only real criteria against download-games is the fact that they are usually tied to a client like Origin, Steam etc. But most "big" games can be purchased as DRM-free versions on GOG.com. You download the game and then have it, without worrying about any client.
Digital doesn't have any merit for me when it only works on your own console and when the severs are functional unlike physical copies, honestly I don't put too much faith in re-downloading games when your account always has the risk of being tampered with.
Wow, you must be a really paranoid person. Are you living in the slums of Brazil or what?
Let's please avoid personal attacks, even if they are only on the mild end of the spectrum. Thanks.
How is that a personal attack?
Well I own PlayStation consoles and Sony's servers have a bad habit of being hacked every so often without the company realizing beforehand.
It's a little difficult not to be a little cautious.
Yeah, things >can< always happen. But this does not add to a discussion about what is better or not.
According to your logic, physical copies of videogames are bad because there could always be a burglar intruding your house who steals it. Or going to public places is bad since there could be a terrorist blowing himself up any minute.
See where this is leading?
Both digital and physical have their strengths and weaknesses, I'm just an advocate for physical but it's usually better if there's a choice which you're not advocating and instead are just insulting those you deem "beneath" you by calling them bums or cavemen if they don't agree.
I never called anyone cavemen for not agreeing. Wtf. It was just an exaggerated statement in order to point out there is always a choice. Why does it seem that everyone here takes everything personal?
And instead of checking the pros and cons, you come up with evasive statements like "this and that is bad because X or Y could happen.. maybe.. who knows!?" And then change the topic to something that happened hours ago. Great job.

Sure, but that doesn't mean the one I chose is invalid.
STOP imagining stuff into my words, ffs. I never said that. My question was if you live in a place with immensely high crime-rates - which would justify your paranoia. Nothing more, nothing less. Not my problem when >you< decide to twist my words in order to victimize yourself.
Never said that either.
FFS again. I NEVER said that. Learn to fuqing read please. Is it so hard? Call me a jerk for pointing out your flaws, I don't care. This needs to be adressed.
It's not.
You can play the "I never said that" card all you want even though the facts proclaim that you pretty much did say that. Oh, I guess I live in the slums of Brazil with high crime rates implying that you're calling me a poor paranoid bum.
My flaws are out and about but you're not off the hook with your self entitled nonsense and condescending attitude and that shit isn't imaginary kiddo.
I've had enough of wasting my time on your arrogant bullshit. I'm out.
