Did you fight back?

  • When you want to beat the hell out of your brother but he starts saying some gay shit.

Rephrasing a picture I saw on the meme thread

Javier: "I love you, brother." David: UNINTELLIGIBLE ROAR

  • It also doesn't just let Javi get beat up without a fight

Well, you can turn that argument around you know. Fighting him doesn't change him either.

  • I didn't because i didn't want to become the same as David

  • At first I said "I love you", but I decided to fight him later on. I wasn't going to get my ass beat by someone I didn't care for the whole season! As for my promise to "Papa", I didn't promise anything. David was an asshole and nothing was going to change that.

  • But it doesn't pursue brotherly love without doubt. ;)

  • When Javier says "FUCK YOU DAVID", that was really powerful to me.

  • I wonder if the people who fight back have a brother or not it would be interesting to know in a statistic way

  • I just said "I love you" to David 3 times, keeping their dad's promise.

  • My first playthrough:

    Javi: "I love you"

David: "No! You don't get to say that!"
    (Punches Javi)

    Me: Oh fuck off!
    (Fight Back)

  • I said "I love you" because I wanted to see how far the beatdown would progress. I was disappointed that my loyalty to David seemed to mean nothing in this scene, much less I love you.

  • When it came to choosing between to fight back or not, I actually tried to picture myself if I was in this type of situation with my older sister. Things have been tense between us for a while, but neither of us would ever take it as far as David has. I ended up telling myself, that's not what I would want with my sister, and that's not who I am. Which is why I refused to fight David.

Despite his violent outbursts, I didn't want to give up on him.

  • I LOVE YOU BROTHER

I decided to fight back from the start. I was loyal to him until he killed Clint and fuck the deal. He threatened me in the beginning of episode 5 even I saved his ass and was on his side. He lost control so I didnt say that. I fight back eventually.

  • There where other ways to show you loved your brother other than taking a beating, at that moment David didn't deserve pity, especially if he tries to kill you over not even having a relationship with Kate

  • I didn't fight back. Didn't want to aggravate matters any more and I knew at least one of us needed to keep a cool head. Plus I did romance Kate, so I could did expect something like this (although maybe not to this extent).

Did anyone else find it weird to keep repeating "I love you" to David? The scene was really good in terms of the atmosphere, music and David's voice acting but I just felt like that dialogue didn't really fit the scene... I think it would have worked better if it was an option in the last chance we had to fight back.

If my sibling was pulverising me due to a misunderstanding, I definitely wouldn't be responding with "I love yous" between each blow.

  • well when words doesn't work on a jerk like him, figured i might as well go fist to fist with him. >_<

  • I said "I love you" because it was definitely more impactful than fighting him, I made the promise to their dad that I would try to be a good brother, and I wanted to prove that Javi was the better man. Because he is.

  • If you don't fight David , you kept your promise to your father. You did all you could to be brothers...
