Yeah, pretty much that's how it is.
Rock114, you make some good points man, but I was just stating the way I felt it the first time I played the episode. I mean.. in my opinion Carley went way to defensive about Ben and that somehow made her suspicious in my eyes. I mean I really wanted to find out the traitor and it felt like she didn't want to... so yeah I thought it was her until Ben confessed.
Thanks man, and I know what you mean. I guess the real difference is that I knew (or, more accurately, guessed) that it was Ben from the outset. I thought Carley was just trying to do what she thought was right, and Ben was really scared of being left alone which, in my eyes, made Lilly the bad guy.
Well, Lilly thought what she was doing was the best for the group as well  My Lee didn't express much interest in Carley as a girl, but her interest in me felt a bit suspicious while in the RV. Plus she felt like a girl who would have more guts to do something as elaborate as destroying our group from within than a teenager. I guess I underestimated teenager's stupidity
Did anybody go back to the Beginning To Befriend Kenny?
I played up to episode 3 as a good guy on two different saves, but after losing faith in the group I decided to start the game again and be a nightmare in communication situations and side with Kenny the whole duration of the game. Instead of being friendly I will let them eat the food in episode 2, I will let somebody else save Clem from the zombies. Evil and do everything Kenny tells me to. It's a good plan.
In episode 3 my respect for Kenny was on the increase, so once I found out what was happening in the group with the divides, secrets etc I decided enough was enough and I was Team Kenny. Instead of continuing the game in the current circumstances I decided to restart the game and became a Kenny fan from the offset.
I had my problems with Kenny to begin with as I felt he was trying to control the group (A bit like Shane) but I have come to believe that he's a good guy, and just wants the best possible outcome for his family. That as well as what happened in episode 3 I became a big fan of Kenny.
I know many people already sided with Kenny, the relationship goes way back to the beginning but with the trust issues becoming apparent in episode 3 it is my duty to be a friend of Kenny and bitch at everybody else :P, and be a badboy in whatever situation I can.
This may sound random to some people, but this Kenny bloke is a top guy. Has anyone else been a Kenny hater and then suddenly ended up liking him? I think it's all down to the eventual group to be honest, and how things turned from bad to worse that has had a reaction change more so than his personality.
I wish I would have realised sooner .
Top story. Just a shame the game doesn't give you the freedom to do whatever you want.
I had a really strong dislike for him in ep 1,2 and 3 but nobody deserved what he went through. Even though he destroyed two lives in that meat locker, even though he had to experience it in order to fully realize what he did in that meat locker, it wasn't pleasant to watch Duck and Katjaa die.
I can't really forgive him for what he did in the meat locker and his decisions as a whole, I'm not holding a grudge towards him anymore. That's the best I can do.
Still I want to see him gone. He's will bring even more trouble on our heads and I just want him gone for good. He can take Ben and they can get out of my sight. Chuck, Christa and Omid are new members that might happen to be normal folks and I don't want Kenny to screw over a new potential group by letting some of them die. I already blame him for screwing this one.
My prediction is that he's preparing some major f**k-up...
Today I did a replay of ep. 3. I wanted to do some things differently so I started playing. When he brought the "Let's leave the motor inn" topic for an umpteen time I told him... well, let's split then. He got angry that Carley and Lilly would stay with me and he would be stuck with Ben. In my opinion even Ben wouldn't go with him. Nobody wanted to follow him but he kept plaguing us.
Kenny wants able man like Lee to follow him so his family is best protected.
That's the real reason he saves you back in the end of ep. 1 if you're not on his side.
Wait a sec, you would let a person who literally lost her sanity and killed a person JUST because she didn't like her join the group, but not Kenny because he might let them die? Seems legit. And please don't reply with "Well I didnt like her anyway", that's obviously not the point.
By the way, does Kenny talk about teaching you how to run the train? Because if so, he obviously sees your Lee as more than a gun. If Kenny's biggest threat is that he might let someone die I'm fine with that. I wouldn't kick someone out for making a mistake or not being brave.
I bet Kenny is going to go kamikaze at the last episode and save everyone. You heard it here first. :P
Anyone care to explain why Lilly suspected Carly, so much that she shoots her?
In my 1st run that I have saved Doug if I remember correctly she doesnt shoot him, rather she wanted to shoot Ben and Doug got in the way or something.
I don't remember Lilly having a problem with Carly. And why would your suspect be someone that was with you since we met you in the pharmacy and not Ben that was a later addition?
Also back at the farm/barn where is Kenny that leaves in hurry to save his familly? We go out, talk to Doug/Carly for a bit, approach the house, take it slow to save Katja.... and Kenny? Just where the hell is he? The first place any person would go to check would be the house.
I think Lilly just began picking on the "weaker" members of the group because she's a bully. She can't take on Kenny or Lee so she picks on new guy and Carely. She also had that fight with her in the pharmacy over saving Lee and Kenny so maybe Lilly is still bitter over that?
And maybe Kenny just sneaked up to the back door of the house, trying to take them by surprise.

Actually, that's what happened with me and Lilly. I was a Kenny guy from the start, and decided to do a different playthrough where I side with Lilly. Opened up a different side of her to be sure, so my opinion changed. However, in the end, my main file is pro-Kenny and so am I.
Also, if you choose to throw Duck out in Episode 1, everyone actually calms down and Larry even apologizes to Kenny. Heck, they even begin making plans to barricade the pharmacy before the walker from the bathroom grabs at Clem. That makes me want to do that ever time now because everyone gets along for a few seconds.

I let who join the group? Lilly? How have I let her in her own group? It was her group and she let the four of us in.

Lilly's no bully. Just because we haven't seen everything that happened from her perspective it doesn't mean her suspicions are irrelevant. The point of this choice is to decide whether or not you trust her. Apparently her suspicion was partly false. It wasn't Carley, but it was indeed Ben. Carley tried to defend Ben so I became really suspicious of them too. I mean this had to be done right there, defending Ben felt like she was just stalling us and that made her my A suspect. I remembered all the tender moments between Lee and her and I thought she might have been working me from the very beginning and that she was somehow connected to the bandits. She was innocent, obviously, but defending the traitor who did the final act to finish this group, well it was a huge mistake. Had she not decided to do that and run her mouth with Lilly, she would be alive. Not to mention that she was a suspect as well, despite being innocent.

Bad choice of words, you let her stay in the group I suspect? Didn't leave her by the road?
Also I think Lilly is a bully. She was feeling powerless and frustrated and takes it out on Ben and Carely when she defends him.
And Carely was just defending a poor kid who was shouted at and interrogated for something by someone with no evidence. She isn't the sort of person to watch something as unfair as that happen. Talk about Carely being an suspect for what. Being tender?! Sounds like Lilly's paranoia got to you. :P
Carley stood up and did the right thing and was killed for it.

Wow, it's apparent to me we won't agree on anything :P
Of course, I didn't leave her on the road. I believe in redemption. Everybody needs a chance. Even if it was Kenny I wouldn't abandon him. I want to banish him, not let him die. Plus I knew she was acting in our group's best interest even if most of the group didn't.
About Carley I don't see it that way. Ben isn't a poor defenseless kid. His actions almost got us all killed. I'm just trying to put myself in that situation. Honestly, I would probably be even more angrier than Lilly was.
ZA is taking its toll on everybody. Lilly is no psychotic, nor a bully. She's just something everybody need to be if they wants to survive.
Ben is neither poor nor defenseless. He betrayed the trust of his group and endangered them all. He deserved everything that happened to him. If he died it would still be justified.
You can't act behind your group's backs and expect them to show compassion. He was the prime suspect and Carley was just being dumb siding with a traitor instead with the people who keep her sorry ass safe.
Have you read the comic book, Wrighty. If you hadn't, give it a try. It shows how people like Carley usually end up and what a person needs to become if he wants to survive in a such harsh world.
Nobody knew who the traitor was at that point, so Carley had no idea it was Ben. If she knew Ben was the traitor, while I doubt she would let Lilly kill him, she wouldn't have defended him. Carley saw Lilly as picking on some scared kid who might not have even had anything to do with it. So she stood up, and tried to do the right thing. Lilly also tried to do the right thing, from her perspective.
Then Carley insulted her and she snapped. Whipped out the gun, and put one right through Carley's domepiece. Lilly truly DID think it was Carley, you can hear the sincerity in her voice. That being said, Lilly WAS too big of a danger to the group after that point. It's best that she went her own way.

I agree with the bold part. I would've gone with her though but I guess she needed to continue on her own. I truly believe that she left me with the group not because she wanted to betray me, but because she realized she has become unstable and it was for the best if she doesn't take me with her.
I've quoted Kiel555 before but I really like how he put it.
It's okay, she left knowing that Lee and Clem cared for her and would rather be with her than with Kenny. That's a good story and a good end to that chapter.

If Kenny did what Lilly did, I'd have honestly left him on the road. My Lee can't forgive such cold murder with no evidence.
And it's not like Ben planned the whole thing to destroy the group. Some bandit stuck a gun in his face and told him his friend was going to die. Again one mistake doesn't warrant death. Also you talk about redemption for everyone except Ben? :P
And why was Carely the main suspect. There was no evidence! For her or Ben. And I can't start killing people over speculation like "We don't know her family" or "She's nice to Lee" For all we know, the bandits could have scared Clem into getting medicine.
I haven't read the comics, not really heard if they're good or not. All I've heard is that they're pretty depressing . I may buy and try them out when I get the time
Isn't Lee a murderer too? He killed a senator for screwing his wife. Lilly killed Carley because she thought Carley was screwing the group. If we, as Lee, can seek redemption for a horrible crime like that, shouldn't we at least give Lilly that chance as well?

Nope :P
Lee and the senator is different. What would make the two situations similar is if Lee killed his wife because he thought (with no proof) that he was sleeping with her.

A murder is a murder. Everything else is subjective.
Lilly murdered Carley. I chose to forgive her, you did not. That's why the game is so awesome and we continue to debate aspects of it on daily basis.
Lee is a murderer as well and nothing changes that. Some would not care about that, while others will hold it against him.
We'll see how Clem's parents will react if they are indeed alive.

Would it still be murder if you killed a person mugging you? What if the Senator was about to kill Lee? We don't know much about what exactly happened. Wouldn't killing Danny and Andy be murder then, even if they posed no threat? I see the reasons behind murder as everything.
And Clems parents are probably going to freak when they find out who looked after Clem but will calm down when they realise what he's done for her. Just my guess though :P

Danny and Andy are post ZA, while Lee's murder is pre-ZA. Plus from what I've gathered from him so far, it wasn't exactly self-defense. Also, he was found guilty... though that could be because he killed a Senator.

I thought murder was murder no matter what? :P
I think you need a good reason to kill someone post or pre ZA.
We haven't really gathered that much about the murder either. For all we know Lee started to hit the senator and then the guy grabbed a knife. And yeah Lee could have been sent to jail largely because the guy was a senator.

Well, there's definitely difference between post and pre ZA
My fault for that, sorry wrighty. Just comparing Lilly's crime and Lee's crime because Lee was given a second chance. I reasoned if Lee gets one, shouldn't Lilly?

No problem, we get off track easily. :P
You said yourself post and pre ZA are different and the reasons were different as well. We don't even know what exactly happened with Lee's murder and Lily's murder was crystal clear and pretty unforgivable in my eyes. I can understand why Lee did what he did and it doesn't seem to make him a danger to the group. I cant understand Lillys random and brutal execution of Carely and it tells us that she has no self control and can make herself judge, jury and execution and so is a danger to the group.
I don't like Kenny at all, because of his cowardice, laziness, and conflicting nature. In EP 1 I tried to save Shawn because he seemed to be in greater danger than Duck was. To see Kenny just take off like that was some serious bitchass shit, and to quote Herschel "This piece of shit let him die!". Anyway I patched it up with him in the pharmacy and we were cool until EP 2.
Next episode I really disliked his attitude, it's either "You gotta back me up on this!" or he just throws you to the sharks and it's really irritating. He will just never accept or deal with anything unless it's 100% his opinion and that kind of attitude I can't stand. Him straight up killing Larry solidified my thoughts about him. Really Kenny? You're not even going to let me even try? And then he has the audacity to say "Hurry the fuck up Lee" while I'm dealing with the AC. That shit just pissed me off even more, and then he bitches out in the barn for no good reason. I also somehow manage to get to the house to try and help his family before he does even though he left the barn way before I did. WTF?
So now we're on to EP 3, right off the bat this guy leaves me to die under the door and doesn't even help with the Zombie pilot. Bear in mind up to this point I haven't actually treated him like crap; I argued Duck's case in the pharmacy (I like Duck, fuck the haters. I knew he wasn't bitten anyway) fed his family, and agreed that we needed to take the food from the car. So it's pretty much him being an asshole because I didn't want to IMMEDIATELY smash Larry's brains out (I warmed up to him to but that's another story). I agreed with him that'd we'd eventually have to leave the inn when we spoke to Lily.
Speaking on his laziness and cowardice, this guys is ALWAYS sitting on his ass when there's work that needs to be done. Not helping with repairs, not helping with the barn door, or I'm checking out the train and he's just sitting outside or in the cabin. He probably doesn't even take up watch. Then there's the multiple times we need his help and he just doesn't do anything, which I've spoken about.
In closing I think the death of his family is well deserved and could probably redeem him for here on out. That was a terrible event, and justified in my eyes, so I don't hate him anymore. He better not fuck me over though. If it weren't for the fact that we're forced to be with this guy I would of gotten rid of him already.
Dat wall. I'll reply to most arguments and then go to bed.
Firstly you can't blame Kenny for choosing Duck over Shawn. Duck is his son after all, of course he will help him. And of course he wanted to get Duck as far away as possible, for all he knew the farm was about to get overrun. His priority is his family, which is understandable. We can't all be heroes.
For the whole Larry situation, you don't have any time to try and think it over, when people die they turn fast. Lilly and Lee (if he was helping, you both have been screwed if he turned. If he was dead, they literally had minuites or seconds before he turned and everyone dies. Also of course he tells you to hurry up, his family is being held by cannibals. Also judging fr where he was, looked like Kennu tried to sneak into the house from the back. Much better plan than just walking to the front door. :P
With ep 3, I see Kenny helping Lee as similar to running into a burning building to save someone. Probably more dangerous than that actually. Would you run into a burning building to save a guy who wasn't even a friend? Same with the pilot . Saying he does nothing? He worked out how to work the train and goes on supply trips which seems to be more than Lilly ever did. We see two hunting or supply trips in ep 2 and 3, Kenny was in both of them. Lilly in neither. He seems to do the most dangerous work.
And did your Kenny talk about teaching Lee how to work the train in ep 3 in case he does? Looks like he cares about him if so.
Kenny's had my back since we first met, and I've had his. Duck was his son, a 10 year old boy. I immediately tried to save him too. If you help Duck, it seems like Shawn is killed right after you release him while Kenny just plucks Duck up and runs away if you try to help Shawn. When the pharmacy is overrun and Larry leaves you to die, Kenny comes back and saves your life even if you were a complete and utter asshole to him and his family.
In Episode 2 Kenny went out hunting alone, while Mark and Lee stayed in a group. He covered you while you cut (or tried to cut) David out of the bear trap. He's even the one that snaps everyone out of it and yells to pick up either Travis or David when everyone else stands around slack-jawed. He fixed up the RV, which was a good idea in my eyes. If the motor inn were ever to be compromised/overrun (which it was in episode 3) that thing would have been our only way out. At the farm, while everyone has their suspicions about the St. Johns, Kenny is the only one to act on them. If it weren't for him we never even would have discovered that human slaughter house before it was too late. As for Larry in the meat locker, Kenny's wife and son were held captive by cannibals while a 6'4 300 pund man had a heart attack in an enclosed area with him. Hours prior the group had just learned that no matter how you die you return as a walker. If Larry had zombified no one would have gotten out of that meat locker alive. While there was a chance Larry could ahve survived, Kenny ensured that he, you, Lilly, and Clem would definately live. If you back him up in there, he saves you from Danny in the barn.
In Episode 3, he's on a supply run with Lee. In the heart of Macon, which he describes later as "hell on earth". I shot the woman in the street, thus drawing walkers to us. I put us both in danger, and yet when the door fell on me he came back without a moments hesitation to save my life. There's no way that he, in my game at least, deserved to have his wife and son die in front of him. Nobody does.
I WILL, however, say that he is impulsive and a little bull-headed. While a few seconds more wouldn't have been much to ask in the meat locker, he goes ahead and does it anyway. He may have saved our lives, but he jumped the gun a bit. He charges at Andy, who has a rifle, bare handed and gets himself shot. Not smart. He's intent on leaving the motor inn even when it looks like we can survive there (the beginning of episode 2), and has become more than a little ruthless, like with the girl outside the pharmacy in episode 3. He's a good man, but doesn't always look at the big picture and jumps the gun on occasion.

In my game even Katjaa notices he's turning into a monster.
Whilst I still think Kenny is a likeable character (if you have his back) and he's no doubt garnered a lot more sympathy after Episode 3, I sort of lost my respect for him during the meat locker scene where if you stay silent, he pushes you over calling you "fucking useless" and then proceeds to mash Larry's brains with no hesitation. That bit pretty much showed me Kenny's true colours. In a ZA people shouldn't have the attitude of "if you're not with me you're against me" and I just feel that Kenny is the epitome of that.
I'll still try to make amends with him in the next two episodes though. Nobody deserves to lose one family member, let alone two, in circumstances like those.
In my game even Katjaa notices he's turning into a monster.
That's in everyone's game, and I forgot about that. Thanks. But yeah, even I started to hate him at the start of Episode 3. I couldn't let that poor girl suffer, then he has the audacity to blame evrything on me just because I showed a hint of mercy? When he said we should leave Lilly during the bandit attack I actually shouted "Fuck you man!" at my monitor, lol. I can't exactly blame him for that though, because my Lee has been developing along similar lines.
Firstly you can't blame Kenny for choosing Duck over Shawn.
That's not a problem, he did the right thing. Right after that however he didn't even try to help the guy who's family gave him a place to sleep. His son was out of danger, he could of at least kicked a zombie in the face to buy a little bit of time before Herschel came back.
For the whole Larry situation, you don't have any time to try and think it over, when people die they turn fast.
Well I didn't need long, just a few more moments. Have Kenny on standby with the salt lick just in case shit goes down. You'd be able to tell if he was about to turn because his skin would start to discolor. Also Kenny's whole idea was "Imma just walk up and grab his gun" yet even after Danny gets dealt with he doesn't even bother to pick up the weapon and goes running off like a fool. Lee went to the front door because he knew the back was blocked. Even so it's not like he announced himself (Not in my playthough ) so he didn't blindly rush in.
With ep 3, I see Kenny helping Lee as similar to running into a burning building to save someone. Probably more dangerous than that actually.
Actually, it's more like a guy in a burning building and you standing outside with a Fire hose without even switching it on. Why waste time by standing there and letting me struggle? Why not just leave? But he decided to do what he always does which is stand and watch.
He didn't work out anything. I was the one checking out the train while he sat outside on a log, and I was the one who found the instructions and figured out how to start the damn thing while he sat in the cabin pretending to drive like Duck and the tractor. In that situation I was Shawn and he was Duck. I bet that if Mark had still been alive, it'd be me and him making runs instead of Kenny. "I'll just stay here and watch my family Lee"
It's horrible that he lost his whole family but he needed that to know the effect his ruthless nature has had on other people.

With Larry, it is obvious that people turn very quickly after death and turn suddenly. Remember the cop in to 1 jumping up. The only safe way to kill Larry is when he is still dead, if you wait till he turns, there are no guarantees. Wait and everyone could die. Also the guys family is being held by freaking cannibals, you expect him to think rationally or strategically? And if the back door is blocked, how did Andy get out without the front door? There is a back door.
And like the guy before said, he fixed the RV and goes on scavenging trips. Meanwhile Lilly sits around and bosses people about in safety and Ben sits on the RV.
And the whole firehouse idea makes you think he can save Lee at a distance. He has to walk right up near the walkers and get the door of him, with walkers approaching from all sides. Much more dangerous than putting out a fire from a distance.
Also what evidence is there for Katjaa not liking Kenny anymore? Caus I couldn't find any.
It's not hard to 360 and see that's there's only a few zombies in the direction that you came from.
There's no need to wait for Larry to get up. I said that their skin discolors when they are turning, that's all the confirmation you need. I seem to remember Kenny thinking rationally when you agree to help kill Larry despite his family being held by cannibals, yet when you don't agree he goes running off like a fool and acts like a coward.
Errr yes he can, all he has to is shoot the zombies from where he was standing to make it less of a struggle for Lee. What possible reason does he have to stand there and not help you in ANY way?
Comments
No, in the game he says he's Dick Grayson. The original Robin (currently Nightwing) who's still alive
This is just a meme
Thanks man, and I know what you mean. I guess the real difference is that I knew (or, more accurately, guessed) that it was Ben from the outset. I thought Carley was just trying to do what she thought was right, and Ben was really scared of being left alone which, in my eyes, made Lilly the bad guy.
But I'm certain that won't be a problem for many players in the upcoming episodes :P
Oh lol my bad.
I've noticed other ironic things, so it wouldn't surprise me if he had.
I wish I would have realised sooner
Top story. Just a shame the game doesn't give you the freedom to do whatever you want.
Since Lilly started killing people, i'd say neither character is well liked anymore. I mean, didn't most people leave her on the road?
I may buy and try them out when I get the time
So you agree that you can't really compare Lees's murder to Lilly's? And that murder isn't just murder, the reasons and time are important?
I actually forgot why we were talking about murder, had to go back and check. :P
Oh, and Chuck is a beast.
And that seems to be everything, gnight all
Kenny's had my back since we first met, and I've had his.
I'll still try to make amends with him in the next two episodes though. Nobody deserves to lose one family member, let alone two, in circumstances like those.

Looots of Kenny haters XD
No, actually, I think most people took her with them. It wasn't much of a majority though; maybe 55 or 60%.
