Season Two only "proposed"?

I see people talking, rumors going, that Season Two only is proposed by Telltale Games, and not officially announced as a game in production. I thought they announced that they are working on the game, and that it should come around Q4 2013. But if it is only proposed, how do we even know there will be a Season Two at all?

What are you talking about? Telltale Games themselves have confirmed season 2 already. It's on their wikipedia too.

Don't ever believe the wikipedia in Telltale matters.
That it's right in this case is entirely coincidental. :o

Well, I watched their interview on Comic-Con, speaking about Season Two. but the information they gave was very thin. Sources like IGN etc still claim that Telltale Games never have announced that it's under development. This is kind of making me worried.

And yes, Wikipedia is a very unreliable source.

I wish Telltale Games could be just a little more clear about Season Two. At least keep our hopes up. Just a small official teaser, and not one of them believed to be fan-made teasers out there.
  • edited September 2013
It is real, it you know Telltale and how long it takes for trailers and such.

Indeed. At least they'll continue with their episodes. They don't have to create the entire game at once which most developers do. We get to taste the game beforehand.

We got the 400 days trailer like 20 days before the actual release of the game. I don't think they plan on releasing trailers early..
  • edited September 2013
Which is a good thing in my book. Because once the trailer is up, everyone's like: "OMG OMG OMG it's coming soon!" It wouldn't be like that, if the trailer was released too soon.
  • edited September 2013
I know, everything is late with him, so when we get news we will know it is soon, simple as that.

Telltale is more focused on The Wolf Among Us right now, a game based on the Fables comics. Since it's what Telltale had been planning for a long time, it's coming first. Season 2 itself was announced shortly after the release of the second episode. Even before that, Telltale had said there was going to a be Fables game.

A small teaser picture of season 2 was shown to SDCC attendees. I was at the panel myself. It was just two people in hoods sitting by each other in the rainfall while Clem's theme was playing. Then "The Walking Dead: Season 2" shows up as a logo before it cuts out.

That was for the release of E3. If we're talking about real launch trailers, they come out usually in the time span of a couple days before the episodes are released.

They wouldn't want to pull a Duke Nukem Forever, now would they?

I just wish they released a statement, if only a sentence long... some news, something!

That's just stupid, they promised us that TWD S2 is coming this Fall. If it's not released by the end of 2013, I'm done. A company that lies to their fans on a regular basis does not deserve my money...

Olga ! They made many games before the Walking Dead you know .

People should be patient for Season 2 Telltale have already given TWD special treatment by giving it DLC (unlike any game they have done before) and have plans to release the second season after only a year since the first (which they have only done once before)

Telltale aren't just 'The walking dead' company and The Wolf Among Us is a game that will probably please more of their fans than just TWD fanatics...

The Wolf Among Us is already a failure. No one cares about that crappy game, I'm pretty certain it's going to get canceled after 2 episodes because of its poor sales.

It is getting a lot more hype and positive feedback than The Walking Dead ever got before release...

Yet it's never going to be as succesful as TWD. No one wants to play a stupid game about wolfs and fairies. So many people are going to be pissed if they decide to push back the release of TWD S2 because of this. They have no right to do that.
TWD fans, I suggest we boycott The Wolf Among Us ASAP!

Except this game has been in development before they had even thought about doing a second season of The Walking Dead...

If anything delays Season 2 it would be 400 days which was not originally planned...

Also a detective noir point and click game where you play as a Badass werewolf sounds a lot cooler than another Zombie game...

Sure, if you're lamenting any creative effort Telltale makes besides the Walking Dead, I'm sure they're going to work on that new Season with a whooooole lot of enthusiasm.

You're giving TWD fans a bad reputation and I don't like it.

Nice immature Attitude you have there... As someone already said: Telltale isn't a WD Company per se. They can't and need to go in another directions as well. Fables is a nice Comic Franchise like WD is. And Telltale proved that they can handle those more then well.

So why not chillaxe a bit and see how Things are going?

Calm down now people. It may be right that The Walking Dead got higher sales rate, (obviously). Telltale Games is a small company, and I'm amazed at what they've accomplished so far. But, as mentioned - just one sentence from them about Season Two would be a great mood booster for all of us. The Walking Dead creates empty holes in you after finishing it, which needs to be healed. In my case, a real confirmation by Telltale Games that Season Two is coming this fall.
