  • i think we can hope for a season premiere november 11, 1 month after the launch of TWAU... or maybe october 31 on halloween day... let's hope.

  • Releasing on Halloween might not be impossible, they released TWAU episode 1 a few days after the launch trailer. This might be a launch trailer. Probably not though. Is give it the same odds of Kenny being alive, I want it, but doubt it will happen.

  • I'm so sad. I was thinking it was today, due to how late the date was released in my time.

  • I'm betting it's a teaser trailer for season two. I highly doubt it's a launch trailer.

  • If TT uses that same timeline for TWD it would put the release in winter. TT said they werre aiming for a fall release date, so hopefully they aren't using the same schedule. However it would make my original guess from months ago of a release in mid to late december almost dead on target. This is one of those times I hope i'm very wrong haha.

Yeah I hope it will be released as SOON as possible, in the next 2 weeks but not later than by the end of Nov., or I'll die of curiosity

  • I'm so torn between being excited, and learning from past experience with TT. If i get too excited im likely to be let down, because i know its a 99.9999% chance its not a release date. However TT can be unpredictable, which makes that voice in my head keep asking "but what if it IS the release date???" UGGHHHHHH the suspence is killing me!

  • if it's a twitch live feed it will be available after the feed ends.

I really hope it is a Trailer release Date or the time they announce the official release Date for all platforms, hopefully it is not a live Stream (I'm european)

  • I'm happy, excited, and disappointed.

I think it is pretty bad that so little has been released about this game that normal fans on the TTG Facebook page actually think the game is being released tomorrow.

Teaser images should have been released last month leading up to the trailer release. It's one thing to release a trailer or teaser image at random but to release a image with a date and specific time with out anything to throttle excitement almost screams hey the game is ready. That was the first thing my kid said this morning when I showed him the teaser image with date and time. He said "great there releasing the game tomorrow" I kept telling him that was unlikely but he kept on saying who has a event with date and time to release production information?

I think the TTG promotion / public relations department really dropped the ball on this rollout.

Besides all that I'm excited for tomorrow and am glad we're finally going to get some real news on season 2.

  • Hate to be the cynic, but if they release within the next week it'll coincide horrifically with Battlefield 4 and CoD, massively cutting back on the amount of promotion they'd receive on the consoles at the very least. I'd love for an early release but for the sake of sales I kinda hope they wait for a bit.

  • My first thought was "AWESOME, it's being released on the 29th!" until my brain kicked in and said "hang on, doesn't the XBLA normally update at stupid o'clock in the morning? And wouldn't other consoles and the obvious PC launch be at other times too? Something here smells a bit funky."

Exactly. That's why I am shocked that they did not release teaser images or a updated website last month.

On the flip side TTG promised big news and if the news is a updated website and a coming soon TWD season 2 sign with a trailer of the season 1 highlights it would be a epic fail.

That's why on one of my posts last night I said pretty much anything less then the game release would be considered a epic fail for a lot of fans since there has been such a lack of information put out then you get this teaser image with a date and specific time. It's confusing for most who do not frequent the forum daily.

  • Yesterday people were disappointed they hadn't heard from Telltale and today there are people disappointed before Telltale's even spoken.

Whatever it is, IT'S GOOD NEWS. Take a moment... enjoy the anticipation.

  • Honestly, TTG could send the cast of the game around to every single player's house and have them all act out the entirety of Season 1 using puppets made of delicious creamy chocolate that can be consumed after the show is over, followed by hugs and champagne and more hugs, and there'd still be that one guy who complains that it wasn't dark chocolate.

  • Wait a min....

You guys did not get a visit from one of the season 1 cast members??? Man that sucks. You must have not been one of the first 500 season pass purchasers.

  • Telltale will kill a lot of people. In fact, they'll kill just about anyone and everyone.

    But Clementine? Ha! No.

She's practically the mascot of the series. There's a reason she's the only confirmed survivor of Season 1.

I cannot imagine they're going to let us wait 8 weeks, that'd be almost sadistical. Telltale had to give more crumbs of information about TWAU in a longer time span because it was something new, so they filled 8 weeks with several teaser pictures and trailers, also to pique our curiosity for TWAU and to let go off TWD. TWD already finished season one so we all know what to expect, that's the reason I think we will not have to wait 8 weeks.

  • I think it is safe to assume one thing from this image: Clementine will be a major part of the new season. Before everyone says how obvious that is, all we knew before is that Clementine was confirmed for season 2. That could mean she's a major part of the new season, or that she pops up mid season with Christa and Omid to let the player know that she is relatively safe and happy and give the player some closure. This is the first image they have released to the public about season two, and all it contains is Clem's hat and two zombies. They wouldn't be advertising with her hat if she wasn't a major part of the story.

Now can we get a picture like this with Kenny's hat?

  • I dont think she's going to be a major part. I still think we're just going to check in with her. The hat just told me that we will definitely see her.

  • I honestly think that the teo figures on the hill are the new main protagonist and someone in his/her group, and it will happen in episode 2 or 3 of season 2, and that would be great because you can get attached to the new protagonist and development his/her relationships a little and then find Clementine, and so you will continue Clem's story where we left off ;)

  • I don't think the announcement has been made yet, but if you click on The Walking Dead in your Steam library, look at the recent news, you should see that the latest update says:

    PC Gamer

The next five episodes of Telltale's The Walking Dead series will be played as Clementine, the child taken in by previous lead Lee Everett, according to today's reveal. The Walking Dead: Season Two is "expected to premiere later this year", and continues Clementine's story from her point of view as...

(That's it. When the 'read more' link is clicked to go to the PC Gamer site, no link can be found. I'm guessing they released the info early and Steam cached the news or something, before PC Gamer had to take it down. Of course, I could be wrong obviously. Just some guy who stumbled across it with playing through The Walking Dead again in preparation. :) )

Edit: Scratch that, the page is live now.

  • I'm disappointed in the lack of release date, too. But confirmation that Clem is the new protagonist makes up for an awful lot to me.

I'm guessing I was a bit late posting that and people know about it. :) Site was acting up.

Edit: I wonder how it'll work playing as Clementine. I don't think she'll have the opportunity to influence characters and events as much as an adult character would, in my view. It'll be interesting anyway, and I could be wrong about that. :)

  • Woo! Looks like they have really applied a lot of that TWAU shading and coloring to make the style more vibrant. And it is cool to see an older Clementine if only just by a year. I'm curious what has happened since the end of Season 1 for her.

Do I pre-order it here, and suffer through the launch day technical difficulties and get a free Steam key, or do I wait for GMG to open pre-orders, buy a Telltale key THERE, redeem it, suffer through launch day technical difficulties and get a free Steam key?

To be honest though, I'm surprised that they made her the protagonist.
