I never liked Kenny in season 1, in fact I'm sure he was made to be the bad guy of the group, the one that is always picking fights with others, that puts himself and his family above all the others.. He can even become Lee's enemy if you never agree with him or defend him at certain occasions and he can refuse to help Lee rescue Clementine. But when I think about it, this guys has lost his entire family in the most horrible way which can explain his behavior for the rest of the season. I also believe that he does change towatds the end and even admits that he has gone too far. He can either choose to rescue Christa or even Ben who inderectly caused his family's death.
In season 2, the reason why I chose his ending is simple, it was a decision I made according to the situation and the characters he was opposed to at that particular time which was Jane.I didn't understand Jane's plan of hiding a baby and risk the death of everyone including her just to prove a point (imo it only proved that she also had some issues) The entire season 2 group members are either dead or have abandonned the others which I believe shows their inability at taking care of a little girl and a baby. Besides that reason, Kenny is the only one from the group who had children and knows how to take care of a baby, he appears to be family oriented type of guy who won't hesitate putting his life at risk to save the people he loves (the Wellington ending is a proof of that). And lastly he and Clem both knew Lee and they both lived the beginning of the outbreak together in the same group, that must be comforting for Clem to be with someone she knows. She knows his personality and she knows what to expect from him which I think is better than being with a complete stranger who might as well turn out to be a monster.
But to be completely honest, if there had been a choice between Kenny,Jand and Luke,I would've chosen Luke because of all the group members he was the only one who put Clem's safety and well-being above his own. He was also the only one who realized that Clem was still only a child and that it was wrong to have her do the dangerous stuff the other people sent her to do. But in the end I don't think either of the endings are good or bad, they are all possible outcomes for the story and they can all potentially lead to a disaster.
No, not for basically being a dad. When I first played that scene, and I went to get Shawn, I saw Kenny get Duck, and I was fine by that--up until Kenny ran away, refusing to help with Shawn. As this was the first decision of the game, I didn't realize it was a one-or-the-other ultimatum kind of thing; I assumed it'd be like a team thing, like I was thinking, "Oh good Kenny, you've got your son, now you put Duck down, now that he's out of harm's way, and help me out with Shawn." Instead Kenny runs off with Duck as I try to help out Shawn and Shawn gets bitten, when it could've been prevented if Kenny'd just put Duck down after it was clear he was safe, and then Kenny could've helped me save Shawn.
In other words, Kenny could've helped Lee out so that both Shawn and Duck were alive at the end of that scenario, but even after Kenny made sure Duck was safe and sound, Kenny did nothing to help Shawn.
Why should Jane be hated on too? So if Carlos is hated on a lot then Sarah should be too? And if Alvin is hated on then Rebecca deserves the same amount of hate?
You list the bad things he did to Ben... Uh yeah Ben was responsible for the group getting attacked, and his son dying. Shocker that he wants bad things to happen to him. Yeah him saying sorry should have made it all better... Beating on Arvo? The little crap stain showed up with guns over drugs.... He deserved a beat down. Murders Jane? Who pulled the knife huh? Yeah she did.
I just hate Jane so much and can't believe people stayed with her regardless what a terrible choice she made. I don't mean they should love Kenny, just want them to understand a thing about Jane

You claim in previous posts about how you don't care about other people's opinions and that they should stop trying to force people to hate Kenny, yet you are here stating your opinion and trying to force people to hate Jane.

I don't really agree with the first point. Duck was just as in danger as Shawn so family is what's really important. Jane is debatable since she clearly wanted Kenny to go batshit insane.
However, I almost hated Kenny for not wanting to help find Clementine if you really disagree with him unless if you said family. What an asshole.
Kenny has made a lot of mistakes, but he never manipulated Clementine into killing anyone like Jane did if you choose to save her. Despite a… morell of Kenny's flaws there was a good man deep within him, we just barely got to see it with all the sh*t going down around him.
Lol ok XD and you can hate her all you want. I understand her choice was stupid. But overall, Kenny contributed to it, just as much as Jane did. I also know that your a fan of Sarah. I am too. I didn't like how Jane TRIED to persuade us to leave her. Overall, it's we who make the choice. Not saying you HAVE to, but try seeing the good side of Jane. You might think she doesn't have one, but remember she helped Clem and Rebecca out of the herd. She also volunteers to save Sarah if you let the timer run out, while everyone else just stands there. Tell me, do you hate Mike and Bonnie just as much for not even trying to help Sarah? Or hell, even Luke? Jane also saves the group in the shootout. Something to consider. Let's not get off topic here, I'm not a fan of Kenny, so I went with Jane.
I just hate Jane so much and can't believe people stayed with her regardless what a terrible choice she made. I don't mean they should love Kenny, just want them to understand a thing about Jane
What do you think about Lee?because he had plenty of determinant choices to be a complete dick and murder 7 people. So What does that say ab… moreout his character as a whole? Lee is a serial killer and an asshole then. Just because hes capable doesn't mean hes a bad guy same with Kenny. Its all determinant on peoples choices.
He goes in all guns blazing in a hostage situation in S2 Ep 2, resulting in the death of Alvin and then decides to surrender because they th… morereaten to shoot Sarita, so he's totally fine with not backing down when Alvin has a gun to his head but when it's one of his own he decides enough is enough..
Can't defend him in this one. He did a mistake.
To be fair, if you went out to look for Kenny and tell him to surrender, he will listen to you, which saves Alvin (for the time being). And to continue, if you didn't go looking for Kenny and try to protect Alvin, causing Carver to put the gun to your head, he will also surrender no matter what to protect you.
Can people please show me where I said people should have the same opinion as me or when I said I want to force my opinions on people?
I … moreclearly asked people to explain why they went with Kenny in the S2 ending, that's all..
People clearly got too defensive and instead would rather complain than to actually have a discussion about my original post. I'm just trying to have a fun discussion about a polarizing character guys..
I just felt that some people's nostalgia set in and sided with Kenny just because he's one of the original group where if you actually look back at all of his decisions he's a morally corrupt person. Is that fair?

But how did Jane manipulate Clementine into killing Kenny? Last I look back on the episode Jane's manipulation is pretty much that AJ is gone(dead or missing) and whether Kenny dies is entirely up to Clementine...
Kenny has made a lot of mistakes, but he never manipulated Clementine into killing anyone like Jane did if you choose to save her. Despite a… morell of Kenny's flaws there was a good man deep within him, we just barely got to see it with all the sh*t going down around him.
Kenny is also one of the people who agreed to escape through the Walkers... in fact, I believe it was Kenny's plan? Or more like improvisation to use the Herd to escape... Carlos died because he was shot, Sarita died because she tried to help Clementine and either dies after turning or dies in the Herd because Clementine cuts her arm off. As for Nick, it's determinant but all we know about his E4 death is that a Walker will have blood on it's mouth if Nick survived and we are told by Luke that he was alive when Luke was searching for Sarah.
How does Jane force you to do this when the option is yours though? You literally are given the options, it's not force when Clementine is the one who decides.
That's an advice, how is that bad when it's worked for many people as we've learned in The Walking Dead(look all the solo survivors that had survived on their own for a long time - Morgan and Jane are examples), plus it's only that, advice, whether the advice is taken is still up to Clementine remember. Sometimes when you have someone to watch your back, they could very well be the ones to stab it.
Jane makes the offer but remember that Luke was given the choice, he chose to accept her offer, Jane doesn't deserve all the blame for that, it was a 2 person job (insert lenny face her), anyway... as for Sarah getting killed, that's determinant, however, Jane is the only one who will actually try to save her(if you convince her to or if you stay silent, she will jump down to try and help Sarah), Bonnie and Mike only shoot the Walkers if Jane tries to help her.
We don't really know whether that story was true or not, remember, he tried dumping a bag full of medicine in a bin, but that's pretty irrelevant, she threatens him to never come back, I don't think that was necessary personally but I don't believe Jane is the cause for the ambush, regardless of whether you steal the medicine and regardless of when you leave the Observation Deck, you always get ambushed, it's more logical if Arvo's group had actually been waiting there for a group to ambush rather than trying to get revenge on Jane, wouldn't they go to the Observation Deck if that were the case?
Could have doesn't really matter in this scenario because regardless of what happens, AJ lives, plus he's warmer and safer from harm within a car rather than outside in a blizzard, was it right to do though? Nope, at least I don't think so. Well I figured AJ had a plot armor that night that Kenny decided to keep watch with AJ in the cold, but I'm not expert on babies so I can't really speak for that. Where was the manipulation exactly? Wasn't Jane's 'manipulation' about AJ being dead? Even though she never states he died and becomes defensive saying she didn't kill him? In the end, the gun is in Clementine's hands and she makes that decision. I agree this whole scenario would've been avoided if Jane hadn't done what she'd done but as she does it regardless, they both act irrationally and illogically in this final instance. I stayed with Jane because I agreed with going to Howe's since we knew there was baby formula, I stayed with Jane because I liked her character, I stayed with Jane because she changed for Clementine, something Kenny hadn't done all Season but Jane managed to do in 3 Episodes, I stayed with Jane because she taught Clementine survival tricks and reminded her of some, you don't get to decide why people chose to stay with Jane. That's more irrational now, anyone who put Clementine at risk is dead? What if Clementine puts everyone else at risk(like in Season 1 Episode 4/5)?
I already knew Jane was dangerous to be honest, same with Kenny, you have to learn to be dangerous to survive in The Walking Dead, being harmless can get you killed easily.
Then let me tell you about Jane:
* She is one of the people who agreed to risk own necks escaping through a herd of walkers instead of … morewaiting for a fresh start which caused Carlos, Sarita and Nick to die
* She forces you leave your friends behind to care for yourself, the first case is Sarah
* She gives you an advice that being alone in an apocalypse is better than staying with a group, that's completely bullshit. Without someone watching your back, you die
* She makes Luke an offer instead of letting him finish his job to watch out for walkers nearby. This event got Sarah killed
* She threatens a defenseless boy to steal his meds which are for his sister, this caused Arvo's group to ambush Clem's
* She leaves a baby in a frozen car where he could have died, the only reason AJ survived is because he has a plot armor. She did that to manipulate Clem kill her own friend. It could have been avoided easily by telling Kenny the baby was… [view original content]
Eh guys, come on, this is a Forum, people can post what they want, don't like the Thread? There's multiple ways you can exit out of the page, I too sometimes get frustrated with these Topics but even I know I don't have to give them attention, but I just like to read comments for entertainment with a bucket of popcorn sometimes although I dislike how you titled the thread with "Kenny Apologists", there's no need for that and just makes the Thread sound like flame-baiting.
People do dumb shit when they're in a state of panic, moreso when they're tossed into the middle of an apparent life-or-death situation for what is probably the first time in their life without any warning, and even moreso if it involves their own family
I once saw a video of a guy in the middle of a tsunami. He got out of his car, then went back to his car to close the door before finally running for it.
A fire breaks out in a crowded nightclub? People will literally trample one another and squeeze people to death against the doors trying to get out. Sounds horrible in retrospect, but to those people, that doesn't even cross their minds. Panic trumps just about every other mental faculty.
Some people would say they'd be able to clear their head and think logically in this situation. Good for them, but in all honesty, I'm willing to bet that a majority of people would do something very similar to what Kenny did in this situation if they were thrown into anything that was even remotely similar to this.
I'm willing to say that I would probably do what Kenny did if I was in that exact same situation. Say what you want, but I just can't blame the guy for doing this. If anything, him putting Duck down and actually helping to save Shawn would be more out of the ordinary than what he actually did.

Yeah. What kind of Dad would rescue his son from a life or death situation and then just say run a long when they're still in the middle of a life and death situation? Any dad worth his salt would've made sure his son was safe, not just letting him stay where he almost died.
I just cannot hold that against him

Then Larry arguing to throw Duck out of the drugstore or to put him out of his misery is reasonable, right?
It seemed like a life-or-death situation at the time, possibly the first one after the outbreak started. Duck had been overpowered by three walkers mere seconds ago, and he thought that getting rid of this soon-to-be walker would save the life of daughter, and by consequence, his own and seven other people's.
I agree that we can justify Kenny's decision of leaving Lee to help Shawn by himself, only just as much as we can justify Larry's decision.

Your idea of fighting back is simply stating negatives about Jane?
They're complaining that he ran away while holding Duck instead of letting him run by himself and also helping Shawn.

We need to just have one week with no kenny debate threads because it's always the same thing and it's just getting stupid now
In what playthroughs is Lee a serial killer? What does he do?
I told him not to shoot and he did anyway. I was really mad about that.
Yep. Duck was out of danger at that point.
Anything involving Kenny and Jane is such a button issue, its beyond "fun discussion" at this point.
I think it would have been more interesting if Kenny had become the true villian of season two, and no one, Clem especially, was prepared for it.
Good luck with that, lol. Maybe after season three when Kenny and Jane are officially no more.
He can kill Jolene, Larry, Danny, Andy, Ben, The stranger and the girl in the street.
Ooooooooooooh my fucking god.
If people want to like a character, let them. Their choice shouldn't effect you at all, grow up.
He had reasons for all of those (although I dont know who the girl in the street is). He's not committing calculated murders for pleasure.
Eta: nevermind, I know who you mean. That was a mercy killing, not serial killing.
