Mobile Suit Gundam: Well to be honest the Mobile Suit Gundam OVA series, which there are quite a few of then. If it wasn't for them I doubt I would of been a big fan. Some of them are right up there with Cowboy Bebop honestly, which isn't a surprise since a lot of people who worked on Bebop worked on random Gundam OVA productions at one time or another. I wasn't surprised when 3 of the Gundam OVA's made it on Watch Mojo's top ten Anime OVA series video. Watch Mojo Even called the original Mobile Suit Gundam the #1 Mech anime on it's Mech anime list as well surprisingly. I think the guy who does the anime Mojo episodes recently got into Gundam for how they went from never mentioning Gundam to Gundam playing a large part in their Top Ten anime videos for a while. lol

    Outside of that there are:
Cowboy Bebop: Loved it, each episode stood on their own feet, there wasn't even a need to pay attention to the anime's backstory as it didn't play a huge part throughout most of the anime. Isn't much more that can be said, it's generally believed to be one of the best anime ever created.
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: This was surprisingly well, for the same reasons as Cowboy Bebop actually. Having a main story but it was secondary to the episodic story telling of individual stories throughout each episodes of the cases that team underwent. Not quite as good as Bebop but close.
Emma A Victorian Romance: I was honestly surprised I like this one, I'm not a fan of romances. But the attempt of authenticity to the period made the anime very interesting to watch and the class struggle of the time was beautiful. It didn't try to demonize the Victorian era, no did it try to romanticize it, it told it for what it was, while having a nice color cast of characters. What surprised me the most is how the anime's main character was a reserved women, not exactly a normal female role, and they pulled it off, Emma became on of my favorite female roles. Moment I watched the first episode I had to watch it all, it grabbed me that fast.
You're Under Arrest: There is just some place in my heart for an anime focuses around your daily patrol officers. I've considered YUA the Police Academy of Anime, as they do throw some humor into it enough to make you smile at times. During the 90s it was surprisingly successful spawning OVAs, TV shows, and a Live Action TV show as well. Sadly, not all of YUA are worth watching, some are great though. The main characters Natsumi and Miyuki are wonderful.
Allison & Lillia: I loved this with a passion, not really because it was great, but because it didn't fail at any one thing. It had a colorful cast, a okay story, beautiful music, and good choreography to really bring it all together. Anime splits between two generations of characters, the main, then their children, one little adventure after another in short. Nothing too serious, it's a light hearten production, which I think threw a lot of people off, as it's on the list of hidden gems as it was released the same year as a number of block busters.
Read or Die OVA: YES... YES... YES! lol To me to this day one of my up most favorite anime productions. Opening scene you get to see the President of the United States pee himself, followed up by the main protagonist whistling Beethoven. Kind of like Allison & Lilia this anime does nothing wrong worth really complaining about, and that is why I love it. If anything my only complaint was the sexualization of one of the main characters that felt so unnecessary. Bought it on DVD at Best buy so many years ago and didn't regret a second of it.
Sora no Woto: This surprised me personally, though there are episodes in it in which I did not like, the over all production was wonderful. I mentioned somewhere else on here that I considered the first episode almost worthy of being a Ghibli film for example. It took the concept of "Moe" it made something serious out of it. I guess that is why I like it. It isn't overly violent, it still has those moe cute slice of life moments, but the story, events in the world they live in are very serious. I'm not a fan of moe but Sora no Woto is definitely an acception.

There are more, but I feel like being lazy and not putting them all up. That being said, I can be a critic to all of these if I wanted to as well, but to be honest I don't think there would be too much I could criticize on some of them. Example I can literally rip Hellsing Ultimate a new hole if I tried. I would struggle greatly if I tried to find criticisms of say Read or Die, Gundam 0080, or Emma for example, which i think expresses my admiration of them. They do their jobs so well that I can not find a reason to complain. And I'm a complaining runt so.

What animes do you mainly watch? You tend to criticize alot when I see people comment on here. What are your main shows?

  • Koe no Katachi is gonna be so good.

As a Gundam fan this just brought me much much joy. Has to be the best thread for such a modest, not over the top anime related mod out there. lol

When I look at the helmets of the T-45, T51 and T-60 on Fallout 4, I knew it was but a matter of time. Seems I'm a bit late in discovering that matter of time came considerably faster than I expected.

Just missing the glowing eye..... oh wait... oh..... sound effect included. hehe

Since I felt so shitty in the head (still am btw) and bored as fuck as I can't think and write/draw/play games efficiently, I decided to read and catch up Bleach which I discovered ended. It was enjoyable but... a lot of the things... just was left unexplained and so damn rushed. I know, I know, Kubo did drag it a bit by a certain point, but this went waayyyy too fast. So many things were just left out, which I just said but damn it, it bothers me. Kubo was never that sloppy and I admired his imagination.

I decided to dig in why and found just a bunch of theorization. Sales dropped, Shonen Jump giving Kubo the axe. The latter bothering me the most. As I've heard that they have a history of rushing certain mangas. I don't really know what happened, I'm not really sure about anything anymore. It was so enjoyable. What happened?

Sigh Anyway, RIP Bleach. It was a blast.

  • I think I skipped a heart beat at the beginning of this Trailer. Seeing Char Aznable with a red MS-05 Zaku, then a Blue MS-04 Piloted by Ramba Ral, and then 3 MS-05 piloted by the Black Tri Stars following. God these 37+ year old mech designs aged very well. lol I much prefer these over most modern mech anime's over stylized designs. Combine that with all the names I just mentioned were antagonist in the original TV show. Nice getting to see them pretty much Star in this episode with the opening salvos of the war the original 1979 TV series was based in.

  • I was REALLY FUCKING SAD watching this. Then suddenly im laughing

  • Thanks for the link! Can finally watch.

If you want to watch a movie only to be absolutely blown away then go watch Kimi no Na wa on KissAnime. The leak's worth a watch. http:/

  • The first few episode work pretty well, yes. They have some great animation and they boot up the story well, although I'd recommend not having high expectations for any episode after Episode 10. That's when it goes downhill. Hopefully you'll find some enjoyment in it unlike me and have a good time, but as I said, don't have high expectations. And if you find yourself disappointed by the series, the novel is really great and has a tighter story, so there's that.

Started watching SAO so I could form my own opinion on it. Don't want to jump on any bandwagons without actually watching it. The first few episodes are pretty good and make me want to watch more.

  • Christ that artwork is astounding.

  • Been slowly rewatching Dragon Ball Z lately, gotta say, for a filler episode, Plight of the Children has some amazing one-off character designs. They all look so great!

  • People always say Rem is trash tier but look at her face, that shit is top tier.

    Rem.

that comment is over a month old, I've finished S1 and have no intent on watching S2

arc 1 of s1 was good, arc 2 was horrible

  • I very much loved that episode. As you said there was a lot of care to the character's design and I loved the idea of the story as well. When I was kid I naively just saw the orphanage people as the badguys for the way the acted but growing up I can see the episode as very morally grey. Still think some of orphanage people acted like asses though, can't help it when they're depicted as such. lol

  • Recently watched Noragami and Noragami Aragoto and enjoyed them a lot.

Also, can anyone suggest me which anime I should watch next? Honestly, I'm thinking to either watch Cowboy Bebop or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood next.

  • If you need something new to watch that's good then check out Rainbow.

Cowboy Bebop. Also, if one watches Cowboy Bebop one must watch it with English Dubs as well. Even Japanese fans say the English Dubs are better. Bebop is one of those quality vs quantity anime. Half as long as either Full Metal Alchemist anime, but every single episode is an utter blast. That being Said, Bebop is one of those rare masterpieces.

  • Awesome intro, what this anime about?

  • Cowboy Bebop or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

This is actually a very big dilemma. I'd say Cowboy Bebop, because it's way shorter, after you finish it you can go watch FMAB.

  • RoosterTeeth released a recap for RWBY Volumes 1-3 to get people hyped up. It's a pretty neat one and Salem's actor recorded dialogue for it and as usual Jen Taylor did a brilliant job. Honestly I hope Volume 4 is good, been feeling a lot less invested in RWBY and it's characters recently and I really don't remember any of my fond feelings from the first 3 volumes, so I could use a good bunch of episodes to remind me why I fell in love with the series in the first place.

  • Do you have FIRST Membership? There's a remnant recap with Qrow!

Vol 1 & 2 had so many funny moments, as did vol3 but volume 3 was one hard volume. Made me sad

  • I don't have a FIRST membership. I don't have money or fucks to give. I can wait patiently for things to come out and anything that isn't available to normal members and won't be available, it's probably not completely important.

Also, get on discord when you got time my dude.

  • No no no no, one must watch both Full Metal Alchemist, and then Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. To skip the first Full Metal Alchemist anime just because Brotherhood exist, is to me an absolute crime.

  • Theres a few clips i've seen of 'Kiss Him, Not me' only 2 episodes out atm as it's new. But it looks great, doesnt take its self to seriously. Love funny series.

Not sure what its about but apparently the girl drastically loses weight, so i'm betting everyone is a bit obsessed with the new her. Think i'll watch the first ep when I get home, while i'm waiting for battlefield 1 to finish installing

  • Also finished Kotoura-san. Man that was a great 12 episodes. Was funny, sad, emotional. Good little find.

  • I stopped after episode 14. Not because it was bad, but because it wrapped up the story so perfectly and I don't want anything bad to happen to these characters anymore.

If you need something new to watch that's good then check out Rainbow.

  • I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds (I can already hear the groans of people here). Hear me out. I heard it was the best of the bunch and I liked the concept. I started watching it alternating between sub and dub (good ole' 4kids). Just to get some dumb laughs, but I actually got so invested in the story I stopped watching the dub and am currently on episode 40. Shit gets surprisingly dark for a children's show.

  • So have any of you watched/read Noragami?
If not then you definitely should

    To be honest, I find it an overload. Too much silliness and comedy often constantly for 1/3 of an episode or more without stop, which takes any of the real humor out of it. I guess I've just been burnt out of that kind of presentation that since the 1990s. Cliche comedies with possible romantic interest between cast. >.<;;;

Which I guess, I can say, it isn't bad, just I find it hard to enjoy it when I've seen a few dozen if not more anime kind of just like it. To be honest, I've been sick of it since Onegai Twins, which I finally hit that "Burnt" out of it line.

So have any of you watched/read Noragami? If not then you definitely should doitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoit
